About this property

The charm of a bastide in private domain with large pool

This beautiful country house belongs to a large estate, in a beautiful environment, flowery and very quiet.

With 8 large bedrooms and 2 suites, this character house is perfectly suited for up to 25 people.

Exposed stones, old beams, terracotta floor, walls in fresh and light tones, this house has been furnished with the concern of elegance and authenticity.
It has been completely renovated recently and combines old charm with modern comfort.

The bastide has a garden with terrace for meals and direct access to the exclusive pool and pond area.
The beaches are a half-hour drive from the property (30km).

Inside, the Bastide is composed of:
- a large living room
- a large dining-kitchen,
- 2 suites - 2 180 beds (separable) and 4 single beds 90,
- 8 double bedrooms - 6 double beds (4 separable) and 5 single beds
- 2 bathrooms + shower, 6 bathrooms, 1 shower room and 9 toilets.

Sheets and towels are provided.
TV TNT, unlimited WiFi, and departure cleaning are included in the rental.
A garage is available.
Note: the pool is usually open during the period from mid-late May to late September (it can be opened and closed more or less early in the season depending on the weather and therefore the temperature of the water) .


The bastide is located in the area of ​​a castle whose buildings bear witness to a rich past: the Romanesque church with its square chevet, vaulted on cross warheads, a beautiful Bastide and a castle of the nineteenth and other outbuildings.
With its beautiful panoramic view, its sources that feed ponds and pond, its protected areas, the area is considered an exceptional site in the region.


In the surroundings, you will have the choice between various sports activities and relaxation: the beaches and the nautical activities (windsurfing, sand yachting, kite surfing ...), the discovery of the back country, the road of the wines and walks and horseback riding (7km).

excellent property and host *****

from the moment we booked this property the owner (Solenne) was extremely helpful, she let me know all information regarding the property that I asked about as well as advising us of local attractions etc before we even arrived, she allowed us to check in early and depart later than arranged. property was very clean and had everything as advertised, was a great trip with 24 members of our family from 2yrs old through to adults. would recommend this property to any large groups wanting to get away for a week or two and stay in your own little bubble away from the outside world. would stay again and can't thank Solenne enough for all her help throughout - 5 stars *****

Our family group of 15 from Ireland spent 5 days at this beautiful bastide in July 2025. The facilities are excellent for a large group, with three fridges and two dishwashers and bbq. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and plenty of hot water in each bathroom. The pool was perfect, and again very clean and not over chlorinated. Parking space in the outer building was very good in the hot weather. The location is lovely and peaceful and very private. We would highly recommended this property for anyone who wants to explore the surrounding area. Host Solene was available to contact if needed although Robert was also available for any queries. We really enjoyed our stay.

Ein wunderschönes, sehr gepflegtes Anwesen

Die Bastide geht auf das 8. Jh. zurück und ist mit viel Geschmack als Ferienwohnung hergerichtet worden. Im Erdgeschoss liegen hintereinander 4 große Räume: die gut ausgestattete Küche mit Esstisch für 8 Personen, ein Essraum für 8 Personen, ein Wohnzimmer mit Fernseher, zwei Sofas und einem Sessel und ein weiterer großer Raum. In den ersten Stock führen mehrere Treppen; dort ist ein Teil der Schlafzimmer, die praktisch alle ein eigenes Bad haben, ebenso im Dachgeschoss. Dort oben ist es bei Hitze deutlich wärmer als im Rest des Hauses. Mit einem eigenen Eingang gibt es noch eine komplette Wohnung mit kleiner Küche, Bad und drei Zimmern. Das Haus ist nicht barrierefrei; der Innenhof ist mit Kies belegt, und überall gibt es ein bis drei Stufen zwischen den einzelnen Zimmern. Der Hof geht nach Süden; es gibt zwei Schattenplätze, einen mit zwei Sofas und zwei Sesseln und einen mit Esstisch und Stühlen direkt vor der Küchentür; dort können schätzungsweise 20 Leute sitzen. In der Ecke liegt auch ein großer kühler Schuppen und am Anfang des Hofes eine Scheune, in der 4 - 5 Autos und etliche Fahrräder Platz finden. Der große, gepflegte Pool ist kindersicher eingezäunt. Insgesamt ist es dort paradiesisch ruhig und ganz wunderbar auch für Kinder: null Verkehr, Lärm nur, wenn selbst gemacht. Es gibt auch viel zu unternehmen, allerdings sind die Entfernungen gewöhnungsbedürftig - 6 km bis zu den frischen Croissants! Ein Verwalter kümmert sich aufmerksam um alle kleineren Reparaturen.

Belle bastide avec de grandes chambres au calme

La bastide est loin de tout village de sorte qu’elle est au calme et du coup un peu loin des commerces. Les chambres sont belles , les murs épais se qui assure une bonne isolation thermique et phonique. La piscine est très spacieuse. La cuisine très fonctionnelle est bien équipée. Nous y avons passé à 17, 5 couples et 7 célibataires d’excellentes vacances. Compter 1/2h pour rejoindre Narbonne ou les plages. Bel endroit à découvrir

Great house in a great location

House is located outside a small village, has a great swimming pool and very spacious. The kitchen has 3 fridges (which you will need) and the outside sitting is just great. Communication with the house owners was easy via Email or WhatsApp and the owner met us at the property a few times to help us with maps and things to do around the area. Overall, highly recommended. Only downside we had is it was VERY hot, and the house does not have an AC. but I believe this is the case with many houses in France, and we did hit a record high week, so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Bastide de charme, séjour exceptionnel

Nous avons réuni tous nos enfants et petits enfants et formions un groupe de 23 personnes dont les âges s’échelonnaient entre 80 et 10 ans. Nous avons passé un séjour exceptionnel. La bastide est magnifique et remplie de charme. Chaque chambre (12) avait sa propre salle de bain/ d’eau avec WC . La literie est confortable , la maison est tellement grande que chacun avait son espace. Les extérieurs sont très agréables également , notamment la tonnelle qui engageait à la lecture. Le propriétaire est charmant et à partagé avec nous l’histoire des châteaux et du domaine. Nous nous y sommes tellement plu que nous y reviendrons très certainement.

Séjour entre amis pour des 30 ans : belle‘ mais quelques points négatifs!

Nous avons loué cette bastide à 20 amis pour fêter des 30 ans en espérant trouver grâce au 350ha promis un espace de liberté sans voisinage… - La bastide est à côté de la demeure du propriétaire présent toute la durée de notre séjour, - Gardien peu aimable et intrusif - Des horaires sont mis sur la piscine et la lumière et l’électricité y sont intentionnellement coupés pour que nous n’y ayons pas accès le soir - La piscine est trop chlorée - C’est une belle bastide avec le charme de l’ancien, 12 grandes chambres spacieuses avec sdb dans chacune, qui nécessiteraient un petit coup de rafraîchissement - La cuisine est vétuste, n’est pas pratique pour 20, notamment pour le plan de travail et la taille des frigos, - Les espaces extérieurs ne sont pas adaptés à 20 personnes, tables trop petites, délabrées et chaises bancales et dépareillées, pas assez de transats, certains étant en mauvais état, pas de salon de jardin extérieur - En résumé du potentiel mais grosse déception sur l’accueil et les prestations par rapport au prix payé

Bastide idéale pour famille ou groupe d’amis

Très belle maison avec des chambres spacieuses, bien décorées et des sanitaires en nombre et bien équipés. La piscine est de bonne dimension avec un peu d’ombre. C’est une vraie maison de famille qui nous a permis de regrouper nos 4 générations. Nous avons découvert la région dont les paysages rappellent la toscane et dont le patrimoine culturel est très intéressant .

séjour merveilleux

Le site est enchanteur, la maison est fonctionnelle et ameublée avec beaucoup de goût, la piscine superbe avec un coin d'ombre, la cuisine bien equipée, seuls le grill à gaz et le lave- vaisselle un peu faibles pour 25 personnes, le contact avec le propriétaire , son amabilité, ses explications et commentaires sur le site et son histoire ont contribué au charme de ce séjour.

Du potentiel mais beaucoup de choses à revoir

Emplacement idéal, belle demeure qui mériterait un bon rafraîchissement et surtout un équipement en rapport avec le nombre de personnes attendues ( chaises dépareillées et cassées, tables insuffisantes, vaisselle éntévhée pas de mixeur pas de plongeur 1 seule planche à découper pas de ciseaux de cuisine pas de poêle lave vaisselle insuffisant ainsi que les 2 réfrigérateurs ,linge usé et inadapté couverture miteuse drap troué et pas à la taille des lits, nombreuses ampoules défectueuses, plancha et four non nettoyés à notre arrivée, gardien mal aimable…..) au total le rapport qualité/ prix n’est pas au RV et c est dommage car il y a moyen de faire qlq chose d exceptionnel.

Mooi vakantiehuis in een prachtige omgeving

Het vakantiehuis bevindt zich in een prachtige omgeving met heerlijke vergezichten. Het huis zelf is heel mooi en idyllisch. Sommige zaken zijn wat verouderd (niet alle badkamers hebben een douche, de inrichting van de kamers is een beetje ouderwets), maar daar hadden wij geen last van en gezien het mooie weer. We hebben we onze vakantie vooral op het binnenplein en aan het zwembad doorgebracht, waar het heerlijk vertoeven is. Ook een dikke pluim voor onze gastheer Alain! Een heerlijke man en een vat vol verhalen over de streek en met heel veel tips over wat te bezoeken in de omgeving. Topvakantie!

Fantastic stay at Chateau de Donos

We were a big family group of 25 people, which is max capacity at Chateau de Donos. Solenne was most helpful with the booking process - we had to modify the number of people during the process which worked very well thanks to clear communication from her side. The owner of the Chateau, Alain chardigny, was a great acquaintance - very welcoming, and he told and showed us so many things about the place and the Corbières area, incl great sightseeing recommendstions. The distribution of the rooms worked well for our big group - enough bathrooms, hot and cold water well functioning. The outdoor dining area with a long table and gas grill next to it worked very well for all our homecooked dinners. This year the owner had added one more fridge which is necessary to store food for big groups. In general the kitchen spacious and well equipped - only needed more wine glasses to match silverware and plates for 25 people. They swimming pool is kept very clean - Robert, the caretaker, cleaned filters every morning. Parking space also worked out great - you can fit 4-5 cars In the garage, plus additional cars In the private drive way. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay, and hope to visit again - merci beaucoup Alain and Solenne!

Wonderful stay

We had a great time together at Chataeu Donos with its scenic surroundings and historic sites, and can warmly recommend spending time there. We were treated very well and Alain showed a wonderful hospitality and some nice surprises. The rooms were large, spacious and fresh.

Grill tout neuf très bon accueil Negatif: manque 1 WC au rez-de-chaussée obligé d'aller dans une chambre. matériel pour la cuisine un peu sommaire manque quelque casserole. vaisselle un peu juste pour 24 manque de coin d'ombre extérieur

Wonderful place

We enjoyed a week in July in the estate and was very pleased with the house and surroundings. We were five families with our grown up kids (15-20 years old - 20 person all in all) and had plenty of rooms and space. The host lived in the next door mansion and was kind, accommodating and easy going. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and the kitchen was well equipped - but the fridges (2 pcs) could only hold 1 days of food/cold drinks and the nearest supermarket was a bit away. The pool was kept clean every day. A perfect place for total relaxation. /Chris from Denmark

Amazing house for large group

We stayed at La Bastide, Chateau de Donos 30 July - 6 August 2016. We were a group of 17, including 10 children. It is an absolutely beautiful house, we had a fantastic time. There are 10 bedrooms, including several suites, all large doubles, all en-suite with huge bathrooms and never-ending hot water. The house is solid and stone-built so always cool and no need for air-conditioning. It is furnished simply but very attractively. It has a huge kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine and two fridge freezers. The house is U-shaped with a large south-facing garden and several outside seating areas. There is a lot of space for children to play safely and even a barn to park cars in so they stay cool. The chateau grounds are spectacular and enormous. Pool is large, safely fenced and ideal for children. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful - there is an on-site housekeeper and maintenance man and the owner speaks good English if you need it. I believe there are more rooms in the house that can be opened up if your party is very large. The area is beautiful, lots of things to do nearby, including many many vineyards, several stunning abbeys and the pretty town of Lagrasse. Carcassonne is about 30 minutes drive, as is the wonderful beach at Leucate-Plage. We have been coming to the Languedoc for many years and this is by far the best house we've ever stayed in. Hope to go back one day. Thanks for an amazing week!
