I notice on our ad that vrbo has a 60% response frequency. I'm not sure where they get their information as we respond 100% of the time and normally within a few hours and certainly within the first day. We will either call or respond to the inquiry through vrbo but we take great pride in getting to know our guests and their needs. We own several condos in Steamboat and only manage the properties we own. We personally take care of and clean the condos ourselves. You will not find another condo that has the attention paid to preparing the property for our guests as well as our condos. Check out the description below and let us know if we can help you with your vacation plans.
Come and enjoy the 'Champagne Powder' and possibly do it on us. Call or e-mail us to find out if we have a couple of free ski passes for your use while you are here. We normally have two available but they are on a first come/first serve basis so please check with us ahead of time. Our passes can be used by our guests when our friends and family are not using them. They are complimentary and are not packaged into the price; just an added perk when available which they often are.
This is a unique property in that it is actually a studio on the main floor with a murphy bed and a large sleeper sofa on the top floor and 1 bedroom with a queen bed on the lower floor. Each floor has it's own full bathroom with the top floor having a jacuzzi tub. The heated pool, hot tub, and sauna are located just across the hall from the lower entrance to the condo.
The location is secluded in a forested neighborhood up slope from the base. It is in a small complex and is the only condominium complex in this area so it is very quiet. There is a trail that is less than 100 yards long that you can ski down to get to the slopes and the base, or you can walk approximately 1/10 mile to the Thunderhead lift and be one of the first to get up the mountain in the morning without waiting in lift lines.
There is also a shuttle that will take you to the base or the Thunderhead lift. When you return from skiing you can walk the 1/10 mile back to the condo or wait for the shuttle that runs on a regular basis during ski season. No other condo is closer to the Thunderhead lift so be the early bird and enjoy first tracks during your vacation in Steamboat. The shuttle is available in the evening to take you into town to enjoy the many restaurants and the great shops that Steamboat has to offer.
Call or write us for information on Steamboat or about the condo, whether it is your first trip or you have been here before. We are glad to share our insight on this wonderful vacation town and will happy to share with you information about restaurants, equipment rentals, shopping, and activities.
We cannot link in our description though due to VRBO rules. The complex was remodeled this summer and you can see her 5 star rating of our unit by contacting us though.

Shannon Dillard purchased this condo in 2007
This condo is located just over 1/10 of a mile to the Thunderhead lift. Take the shuttle to the lift (1st stop after pick-up!!) If you are serious about wanting to get up on the mountain and avoiding the base area - this condo is for you!
We were lucky enough to find this condo for a one week stay from March 1 - 8, 2014. We had four people at the beginning of the week and it was more than enough space. The condo is very large, with ample living space and the downstairs bedroom was big enough to spread out, especially with all our ski clothes. The pictures show how nice the condo is appointed and updated, but we were certainly impressed with the size of it when we arrived.
The condo is situated a 5-10 minute walk from the Thunderhead Lift for fresh tracks each morning, or a shuttle will pick you up and take you there 3 times an hour. After 5PM the shuttle does not run on a regular schedule, you just call and they will pick you up and take you anywhere between 5 and 10PM! This was like having a cab on call at any time, we were able to go out to dinner and explore downtown with ease since we didn't have a car. What was also nice about the location was that Thunderhead was generally less crowded than the base, so we were able to get up to the top of the mountain very easily.
We've been renting ski condos for almost 10 years now, and what was nice about this was the extra amenities such as flat screen TVs, cable, internet, and DVR. While we were out most of the time, sometimes it was nice just to kick back and relax on the couch for some downtime. The building amenities were excellent also. There are two grills available to cook outside, a hot tub, and heated pool. The kitchen was well stocked, but since the grill was available and the weather was amenable, we took advantage of that most nights.
Dave and Shannon were a pleasure to deal with, and the ski passes put this place over the top. Definitely one of the best ski condos I have stayed in. Thanks!
We have stayed at three of this owners properties over the past few years, and like all of them, they are very well maintained, very clean, newly remodeled, and well appointed. All of the furniture, bathrooms, tile work, bedding, etc., is far above the average that you would expect in a rental property. This particular condo at the Scandinavian Lodge has the benefit of being 1/10 of a mile from the Thunderhead Lift in a very exclusive (quiet!)neighborhood surrounded by luxurious homes. What this means is that you can either take the shuttle that runs a continuous loop at given times, or walk up to the lift. Doing this means you start higher up than at the base, and avoid the lift lines at the Gondola at the beginning of the day! Definitely a plus. At the end of the day, ski back to Thunderhead and the shuttle will drive you back, or walk down to the condo.
The condo itself is a bi-level, with a very private master bedroom and bath on the lower level. The main level upstairs has a nice size living room with a murphy bed in an alcove behind the living room. There is a bathroom with a beautiful shower on the main level next to the kitchen and dining area. From the lower level you are literally steps away from the indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, and steps away from your ski locker, which means coming in from the trails and storing your gear outside of the condo is a breeze.
All of the people we met at the hot tub for an after ski soak where either owners or guests, and all very friendly. That's usually where we would get our dinner suggestions. Getting out to restaurants is also easy. During the day the shuttle runs a loop to the lifts and the transit center at the Gondola, and you can take the free city bus downtown. After 5 the shuttle is on call, so it will pick you up at the condo and take you anywhere in town that you want to go. We never waited more than 10 minutes for the shuttle, and all of the drivers where very friendly and helpful. They even will drive you to the grocery store so you can stock up the refrigerator for those nights when you cant drag yourself out to dinner. Just about everything you need to cook is in the kitchen also.
We have been to Steamboat 7 times in the last 5 years, and we always try to stay at one of Shannon and David's condo's. They are there if you have any questions, and their condo's are so much nicer then any others that we have stayed at. Highly Recommended !!!
We chose to rent this property even though there were no reviews, and I'm glad we took the chance.
We found the condo to be clean and inviting. It worked well for two couples with a private suite downstairs and a Murphy bed upstairs with its own bath. The kitchen was adequate, but was missing a few basic items. With a quick call to the owners, they delivered what I needed. The living space was rather cozy, but we spent the days out on the slopes, so that was okay. There was a separate ski/board storage closet downstairs, which was nice. The common pool and hot tub were very nice. The water temperature was just perfect in the pool. There was a gas grill that we used out in pool area. Although there was a shuttle up to the Thunderhead lift, we were able to walk comfortably there and back. On the last day, we did take the shuttle back to the condo, and the driver dropped us off at the door! Hopefully this will help others trying to find a property to rent. It's a hidden treasure.
