Original cozy farmhouse homestead 2 blocks from the bike path and
I live on the eclectic East side of Madison Wisconsin. My house in over 100 years old and is one of the original homesteads in the area (back in the day). This house is a 2 story house with 3 bedrooms, full bathroom upstairs and 1 bathroom with shower downstairs. Full kitchen and living room, fenced in back yard (dog friendly) with a fire pit for those who enjoy an evening campfire. The propery comes with an attached 3 seasons porch with a bar if one wishes to sit inside and chill. I live 2 blocks from the Madison bike path that will take you everywhere around Dane County. This bike friendly community offers a great opportunity to tour all of the local breweries throughout Dane and surrounding area. Please come and experience Madison, the State Capital, awesome State Street (which is a must visit if you have never!), Willy Street ( another must visit for an awesome cultural experience) and SO SO much more. Saturday’s farmers market around the State Capital is definately a stop in the morning to get a coffee in one of the local coffee shops and walk around and experience all of the local vendors offering organic foods! Madison, A great place to be.

We had a great stay- The farmhouse was a perfect place for our extended family to explore Madison. The host was great- Very attentive, quick to response and made the home very inviting. Super comfortable beds and homey decor.
Place was great! Easy drive or Uber to Wisco campus and just as close as the hotels near Lake Monona. Clean, more than adequate amenities and the back patio and yard are very enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again.
Kate’s home is absolutely perfect. It’s spacious and so cozy. And she is a wonderful host. She even had delicious sweet treats for us on arrival. I highly recommend Kate’s place!!
We really enjoyed our stay while dropping our son off at UW-Madison. The house has lots of Badgers decorations which was fun. When we arrived we had homemade snacks in the kitchen! Yum! Check in and out was easy and we appreciated the homeowner checking in with us during our stay.
This home was a good fit for our group of 5 adults. Check-in was smooth, Kate gave great instructions and everything in the home was well labeled. The bedrooms were comfortable and had enough space. The backyard looked lovely although it was too hot out for us to enjoy. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. The staircase to all 3 bedrooms is very steep - not a problem for our group but could be for someone with balance or mobility issues.
The place was fabulous! We felt right at home. Kate's cookies and brownies greeted us. After a 7 5 hour drive through construction alley, we were able to chill in her most serene backyard. We enjoyed all of the comforts of home. Kate was quick to answer when we lost our code to get in.We had a graduation at UW on Saturday, We returned to a quiet evening in the backyard with the dogs. If you want to stay at a place like home, this is the place. Thanks Kate!
Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
The owner made great efforts to make our stay enjoyable. There were lots of details that clearly showed she wanted to make our stay special. One thing to note: there is one bathroom upstairs if that is important to you.
We enjoyed our stay, we were in town for the Ironman race. Liked having a house instead of staying at a hotel. Next to bike paths so easy to do a ride or ride into town. House was clean & it was the best stocked house we’ve stayed at on VRBO. She thought of everything you would need!
We were in town for a local convention, and this was an amazing stay. The house is well maintained and very well decorated. We had everything we could need and everything was clear and labeled. Her instructions were clear and communication was easy. I would totally recommend!
Had a great time staying here over a football weekend. Location is convenient to campus. The place is super clean and has everything you need. The host even left us cookies!
The location is great-- walkable about a mile from the many fine shops and restaurants of the east side. The garden and home were beautiful and very nicely maintained.
Only (very minor) caveat is that folks with mobility challenges might have trouble on the second floor stairs to the bedrooms.
We had a wonderful time visiting for a UW game. The house and yard are delightful! We enjoyed playing records, hanging out in the yard and the well stocked kitchen. An additional bonus is that Madison has many gluten free/ Celiac safe restaurants! My daughter ate out at several delicious places and had a great time. The owner is very attentive and available. I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely home
This home is well cared for and gave us a true home away from home! We appreciated the personal touches and cannot express enough how comfortable this home is
The house was so convenient to campus and worked really well for our family for UW graduation. Kate communicated clearly and promptly and there were fresh baked goods for us on arrival! The house has a record player and some great 70s and 80s albums that we really had fun listening to while we played games. Highly recommend this place!
Clean quaint home. Loved that it was dog friendly. Backyard was great for the dogs and a chill evening with a fire in the fire pit. Communication with owner was easy and she responded quickly.
Nice, comfortable house in quiet neighborhood. Everything we needed to enjoy a game weekend. Homemade cookies and vinyl records to play were fun touches.
