Sky Island is the unique ecosystem of the craggy cliffs of Shawangunk Mountains famous among rock climbers. Nestled between the Rondout Creek and the D&H Canal, the cottage sits in a pastoral glade of trees, birds and deer. Kerhonkson is a Hudson River Valley town of natural beauty. It's a five minute drive to Minnewaska State Park and the Mohonk Preserve. This totally renovated 1840’s cottage is ideal for a couple, but also serves as a peaceful getaway for anyone wishing to spend some quiet time alone. It has a wood burning fireplace, cathedral ceiling with skylights and a private deck. It's an easy entry to the D&H Canal Rail Trail for walking, bicycling, cross-country skiing or bird watching. Regretfully, we cannot accommodate children or pets. Fireplace, Phone, Air Conditioning, Cable TV, DVD, Radio/CD Player, Full Kitchen, Microwave, Dishwasher, Refrigerator, Cooking utensils and Linens provided, Washer, Dryer, Deck, Charcoal Grill (BBQ), No Smoking

We loved staying at this property. Fantastic location next to a hiking trail, and walking distance to an excellent restaurant. The property was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We will definitely return!

My husband and I just needed a nice quiet place a little getaway in the woods . This cottage was more than expected. Irene our host was amazing and left nothing out to guess about. The kitchen was fully stocked, with everything you could possibly need . There were plenty of grocery stores near by also. We had so many fun things to do in the area as we were located near many of the upstate towns . Thank you Irene and we will be back !

This was our 4th or 5th time here. Irene is a phenomenal host! She provides the most welcoming atmosphere and amenities. The cottage is comfortable and cozy. It sits at the end of a small street and right next to a rail to trail walk. It’s also minutes away from Minnewaska State Park as well as Mohonk. I honestly can’t rave enough about this place. We will be back!

we had such a great time in this beautiful cottage, it was so cozy and we had everything we needed to stay inside all weekend, cook a few big meals and used the fireplace every night! irene was a great and responsive host. my only feedback is that there could be some more photos of the space on the listing, but everything that wasn’t pictured was so charming i was pleasantly surprised. can’t wait to come back :)

We have only positive things to say about our visit to this beautiful cottage. Irene is a delightful host, very responsive to any question I had and made sure that we had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable. It felt more like staying with a friend than a rental unit. If you are looking for a peaceful place to rest and restore, this is it.

One more great stay!

The house is very cozy and Irene is a wonderful host. We stayed two nights for the 3rd time. Each time has been a relaxing and rejuvenating time. If we come back to New York we will be staying here.
