About Mike and Chandra
Mike and I are both natives of New Mexico, living in Rio Rancho. We spend many of our weekends exploring the Jemez mountains. Fly fishing is our passion, but we also love the beautiful hikes and nature walks in the area as well. It has always been our dream to have a little mountain getaway and we are happy to share it with you. We hope you make as many wonderful memories here as we have!
Mike and Chandra purchased this House in 2017
What makes this House unique
We love this area because it is so close to many of our favorite spots in the Jemez. Two beautiful nature walks/hikes with river access are just minutes from the neighborhood (East Fork and Los Conchas). A short 15-20 minute drive puts you in the Valles Caldera National Preserve. We are a scenic 40 minutes from Los Alamos and Pajarito ski area. A 30 min drive will East will take you to Bandalier National Monument, While 30 minutes NW will take you to Fenton lake and the seven springs fish hatchery ( kids under 12 can fish).

Great Time in Jemez Springs
Hi Chandra & Mike,
Your cabin was great, very clean and well stocked. Perfect for two couples. Your welcome basket was a very pleasant surprise. We would differently stay there again. A little farther from the balloon festival then we thought, but it was fine.
We really enjoyed the pizza and the owner couldn't have been nicer.
Thank you, Anne & John Dempster
Great place to stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. This cabin was perfect for us. It had all the benifits of being in the mountains with all of the comforts of home. We loved being so close to the Valles Caldera and our two boys really enjoyed exploring the property. There are several great hikes just a few miles away. The neighborhood is also really quiet and peaceful.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We are glad to hear that you had a wonderful stay. Thank you for being gracious guests and taking care of our place! We hope to see you again.

Feels Like Home Away From Home
Charming and very accommodating! The cabin provided all of the necessary ammenities, it was clean, and very cozy! The covered porch was an added bonus for all of our fishing gear and allowed us to enjoy the summer rain while staying dry. Can't wait to visit again in the cooler months to try the pellet stove!!
Charming and homey
This summer while we were camping at a nearby campsite in the Jemez Mountains, we were invited up to see the Briedenbach's very special little cabin. We were delighted to see all the sweat and love they put into this place. The style is exactly what you would expect in the mountains. It is clean, comfortable, and the perfect size for a small family or a couple wanting to get away for the weekend. Although we did not spend the night there, we did join them in a game of cornhole and are anxiously waiting to be there at night with a warm pellet fire and a game of cards. The really neat thing about it is that you would never know you were near anyone else because where the cabin is situated, at the end of the road, you can only see the forest. It really gives you a sense of seclusion and peace.
PS. It was also a short drive to the Valles Caldera where my husband and I parked in the evening to watch the elk come out of the treeline. (bucket list for anyone)
