Why Fred Reynolds chose Prairieville
Pine Lake has that 'Up-North Feel' while still being close to Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. Our property is at the end of a private drive, and is surrounded by water on three sides. It features two cottages that are rented separately, but can also be rented together for larger family vacations. Our .6 acre level lot contains 392 feet of frontage.
What makes this Cottage unique
Privacy! We are the last lot at the tip of the Point. We have privacy fence all along the back of the property, offering isolation from the neighbors and street.

This is our 3rd time renting these cottages. There have been several updates done since the first time: new sheets, blankets, pot & pans, silverware (enough for everyone), new docks and new appliances in the lower cottage. Had a wonderful week, rented both cottages for our extended families. Swimming was great, the lake was warm. Did several kayak and canoes trips thru the different lakes. The older kids especially enjoyed the fishing, caught enough that we had fish for dinner one night. Had a campfire several nites even though the weather was quite warm. Had one rainy day but there was easily enough room at the main house table for several rounds of cards which kids and adults enjoyed. Fred and Sue were very accommodating and the rental process was easy.
Great place to stay!!
Absolutely wonderful place to get away for a while and just enjoy being together as a family. Fishing, swimming, boating, fires, s'mores - who could ask for anything more. Perfect place to get away from the day-to-day and relax without having to drive for hours. Leaves more time for fun. Cute cottages and great people to deal with. No one could ask for a better experience. We highly recommend staying here. Thanks so much for going the extra mile to make such a memorable experience. We couldn't ask for better people to deal with. Thanks for everything!!!
Family Fun. Great Location!!
My husband and I rented the big cottage this week as an end of summer get-away for us all (3 kids - 10/8/4). We had an absolutely wonderful time, and glad we found this place to get away for a while and just enjoy being together as a family. The cottage is very private and the large lot made for plenty of fun. Kids enjoyed swimming in the lake. We also were able to get in some fishing, and had a bonfire nightly.
We highly recommend staying here. Thanks so much to Sue for going the extra mile to make our stay such a memorable experience. We couldn't ask for better people to deal with. Thanks for everything!!!
We rented the larger of the two cottages 8/26/2015-9/3/2015(girlfriend prefers smaller cottage ) . We did end up switching 6to smaller cottage due to our dog having problems with steps (her age) . Contacted owners they were very understanding and offered to refund the price difference. Beautiful view of Lake ,peaceful setting, fire pit for smors . We also rented the pontoon boat very nice running ,a lot of seating for cruising lakes. We have rented one or the other cottages from the owners for the past eight years and will continue renting due to the treatment we have received and the relaxing atmosphere
Do not book this rental
The house is very outdated and the Deck and the Dock are very unsafe and dangerous for children. The dock actually fell during our stay and someone could of been injured. We lost our deposit on the pontoon rental because of "damage" that we never did. The lake is nice and the fishing is pretty good. I would recommend coming to pine lake just not staying here.
This review was based on a weekend rental in early August. We had received no notice of dissatisfaction regarding the rental (It has been nearly two weeks) until the party was upset that we did not return their $100.00 boat rental damage deposit. When the boat was checked following their departure, it was not covered correctly, there were numerous beer bottle caps, misc. lengths of fishing line, fishing hooks, and worm dirt all over and in the loop of the carpet. Additionally, the back platform over the engine was broken. The repairs cost us more than the $100 that we kept. As for the condition of the cottage, as with every renter, there are pictures available on VRBO and via email from us that allow for an informed decision on whether to rent or not. It is felt that this comment along with the safety comments (and entire negative review) are out of spite and intentially hurtful for us not having returned the pontoon damage deposit.
In addition, I received a phone call from the son of the person who rented who wanted to argue why I should return their boat deposit. When I stated all of the items that were not right, he then said "well it seems that you are not going to return our money. I will go on VRBO and place more reviews", at which time I told him that this was extortion and that I would report this to VRBO which I did immediately.
Beautiful views but Ammenities not as Listed
Nice cottages with amazing views and great space for larger gatherings. Nice area for bin fire and lots if windows to enjoy the boats going through.
Even though it's listed in this ad, there was no washer/dryer, air conditioning, cable tv, or internet. The weather was fantastic during our stay but if it would've been hot outside the cottages would've been very warm with no a/c. Dock semi to need work and also the large deck on big cottage.
In reviewing the amenities that we have listed as part of our advertisement, we do not make mention that there is air conditioning, washer/dryer, internet, nor cable TV in either of our cottages. We did not field any advance questions about these amenities in advance either by this particular renter. We are open and honest about what we have for those interested.
As for the docks, they are recent construction. The deck on the larger cottage was also just stripped and re-stained last fall. Both are in perfect operable order.
We pride ourselves in making sure that our guests are taken care of, and insist that they immediately contact us with any issues as they arise to be sure to handle them ASAP. We did not hear from these guests during their stay and assumed that they were happy with their rental.
From renter via email when asked if she left the feedback:
It was "my sister who wasn't even there for 24 hours!? We sent her a text. She's "busy at work and will see if she can remove it later". She didn't hover over the items on the website to read the description. . . so sorry. It's a little confusing of the website - not your problem.
But no complaints here. You have a beautiful spot and we had a great time!
Cottage is also near Wayland, MI...GUN LAKE CASINO! Cottage is also near Allegan/Otsego, MI BITTERSWEET AND TIMBER RIDGE SKI AREAS!!!! Pine Lake is situated near Gun Lake and Gull Lake, and is 660 acres of lakes with a unique 'up-north' feel.
