Enjoy Lakeside Living At Its Best On Lake Chatuge!

Come and enjoy both lakefront and mountain living at it's best! Stay a while with us at "The Roost" our luxurious lakeside view! This recently renovated and updated lakefront condominium is just perfect if you are seeking fun, relaxation and solitude.

Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath sits on the lake and sleeps 4. This unit is fully equipped with a full kitchen, linens, bedding, two flat screen TVs, washer/dryer, high speed Internet and central heat and air. Completely renovated from floor to ceiling in 2022. The kitchen has beautiful custom cabinetry and Corian countertops. Dark plank ceramic flooring throughout. The furnishings are earthy with a contemporary feel. The Master Bedroom is beautifully furnished with a view of the lake, queen bed, flat screen TV and ample closet space. The second bedroom has direct access to a spacious stone patio. Both baths have been newly renovated with walk in showers, marble floors and new vanities.

The Roost comes with two outdoor entertaining areas, a lakeside deck with seating and dining options, and a stone patio for grilling, lounging, reading or taking a late afternoon snooze. Walk down a few steps from the lakeside, a great place to take a swim (new swimming dock!) or enjoy the sun. After dinner watch the sun set while enjoying a drink on the deck. Then top off the evening with a nice drink beside the fire pit while you make s'mores.

Please note: the boat dock is for Condominium Owners ONLY. You cannot access the dock nor park your boat there. If you need docking for your boat, please contact us and we can make recommendations. Kayaks and Canoes are no issue.

Enjoy the swimming dock! No diving please, and no boat docking - ever!

Being centrally located only, we are only 10 minutes from downtown Hiawassee, 30 minutes from Murphy NC, 15 minutes or less from Blairsville GA; Helen and Blue Ridge GA are about 45 minutes away. Highlands NC and other quaint mountain towns await your exploration!

Cozy and Clean

"The Roost" is a hidden gem. It was clean and the furnishings were very cozy. It was perfect for my husband and I and our son. We had our own rooms and bathrooms. I would definitely recommend staying at this condo. The view is beautiful!!

We loved this place so much. It was perfect. Beautiful porch to set on and view the lake, beautiful decor and comfortable beds to name a few things. It was so peaceful. We will definitely be back!

Generally as described and very nicely located directly on Lake Chatuge, although the unit does not have boat docking for guests.

Nicely renovated condo with lake view and access.

The two bedroom condo was perfect for my husband and me. Our adult son joined us for two nights. Kitchen was setup well for cooking if you prefer to eat in. Nice front porch with seating and view of the lake. We would definitely like to stay there again.

Quiet and peaceful condo

Great condo with updated kitchen and baths. Had a little trouble finding the condo in the dark, so recommend getting there before dark if unfamiliar with area. Keep in mind you have steps to get to lower level if you have limitations.

A welcoming home in a great location. You'll want to come back!

Of all the places we have rented for vacation, the Roost is the first one we've ever come back to. It has a very clean and friendly feel, an amazingly well equipped kitchen and a covered porch with cozy seating, dining and a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains beyond. Water sports and a gazillion good hiking trails close by. Great place.

Mountain Getaway

We enjoyed our stay. The home was beautiful and very clean. We enjoyed going to Blue Ridge and Ellijay, but the fall leaves were much more vivid in Hiawassee. The sunrise was amazing over the mountains and lake. Everything was perfect for our little weekend getaway. We will be back.

The Roost is a hidden gem. The condo was super clean. Its just been renovated. The views are amazing! This lake is beautiful. It is so peaceful and quiet yet close to everywhere in Hiawassee. It is well appointed with everything you need. Sitting on the porch with the views was what our souls needed. We will be back.Thank you Dean.

Beautiful Quilt and Comfortable

Great vacation!

This place is wonderful. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It had everything that we needed to cook in. Dean was great to work with and answered all our questions. We had no problems finding the condo and it’s very close to town. We visited Brasstown Bald and Bells mountain. Both amazing. Overall great experience and I would love to go back. Amazing views just sitting in the room

Lovely Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving week in this Lovely condo on the lake. Spotlessly clean. Very well equipped kitchen as far as utensils, cookware, etc are concerned. Fire pit was so nice to have just steps away from back porch. Beds were comfortable. Excellent wi-Fi connection which you don't always find in the mountains. Would highly recommend staying here for a week of R and R. Hope to go back in the summer.

The Roost

This was a lovely place to stay. The condo is beautifully decorated and has the most spectacular view. We didn't eat out at all in the evenings as we wanted to take in the beautiful views and sunsets. It was a wonderful place to relax. I have been an essential worker through out Covid-19 as I am the administrator of a medical practice. I was so in need of a rest and to get a break. I would highly recommend Dean and this property and would most definitely want to stay again.

Best birthday

The Condo was perfect!! There was only two things for us. The master bed was to soft for us so we just slept in the other bedroom which was very comfy. We love to BBQ and the grill needed some attention, but worked ok for what we were cooking. Everything you need is there. All very nice dishes, pans and utensils. We were there after Hurricane Zeta and when we arrived there was no electricity. We spoke with Dean and he was very accommodating if we wanted to stay or not. We chose to stay and had the best time ever even without electricity, but it did come on around two in the morning. We are already deciding on when we can go again. As others have said you don't want to out for dinner with such a wonderful view and home. It was a wonderful home. Thank you Dean

Great location for morning people.

We absolutely loved the property ; everything about it is relaxing and comfortable - except the upstairs neighbors in the morning. If you’re a morning person and plan to be up at 6:30 every day then this is perfect for you. If; however, you like to sleep in until 9 (or even 8) while on vacation then do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. It’s really a shame since the owners see to every detail to welcome you and make your stay comfortable. The upstairs neighbors literally wear hiking boots Inside (we saw them leaving the unit) and you can hear every step. One (or both?) use a treadmill early in the morning and it sounds as if they do other impact exercises as well (step aerobics?). We were also awakened by early morning vacuuming. Again, there is absolutely nothing the owners of The Roost can do about this short of purchasing the upstairs unit. We would wholeheartedly give 5 stars to The Roost if the upstairs noise issue is resolved.

In the early 80's I worked for the SE Research Station for the US Forest Service. We did survey research on Lake Chatuge, and I've always loved that area.

After 12 years of working in Antarctica (McMurdo, Palmer, South Pole and circling the continent of Antarctica on the Nathanial B. Palmer Research Vessel/Ice Breaker). I gave it up and let someone else enjoy the adventure of it all.
