We're blessed to be on a secluded area of tranquil White Lake and only 5 minutes from the charming towns of Montague and sister-city, Whitehall, across the bridge.
There are too many attractions nearby to mention – truly something for everyone!

Maple Beach House itself offers plenty of areas to relax and play, but it’s also a perfect home-base for the Whitehall/Montague area providing easy access to Lake Michigan and close proximity to all other points of interest, activities, and conveniences.

If you are looking just to chill, look no further than this peaceful place. Read that vacation novel, while enjoying the cool lake breezes in one of our 6 bedrooms. Take a snooze under the beautiful tree canopy. Or grab one of the provided beach towels and head to the beach to lounge by the water to enjoy the sunshine, the sound of the lapping waves, and maybe some unhurried conversation.

Everyone will love this spot on White Lake for its gorgeous panoramic view of the blue (not actually white!) waters, which are often remarkably un-crowded.
At night, build a bonfire - have s’mores and tell stories. And don’t forget to stargaze!

The house is easy to get to – a short 15 minute drive from US-31.
It is 3 hours away from Chicago and Detroit, and 1 hour from Grand Rapids.
MBH is ideally located to enjoy the best of each lake:
White Lake’s warmer, calmer waters for water sports like skiing, tubing, fishing, and swimming.
And Lake Michigan’s immense waters & wonderful beaches with soft sand and waves –
5 miles away via boat (via channel access with its great view of the White River Light Station & Museum)
and car (convenient parking is available at Duck Lake State Park Beach, where you can enjoy Duck Lake, the warm, shallow waters of the channel – a big hit with the kids- and the “big lake”).

The house will be stocked with some starter supplies such as coffee, filters, sugar, salt, spices, paper goods (towels, tissues, toilet), soap (hand, dish, dishwasher, laundry), garbage bags, propane, roasting sticks, and firewood.

Food, beverages, and extra supplies needed can be purchased nearby. The sister cities of Whitehall and Montague are only a couple of miles away. Montague Foods has a large selection of high quality groceries, beer, and wine. Check out the World’s Largest Weathervane before going in! Also take advantage of the Farmers Market (and Artisan Market) across the street on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

When it’s time to eat, you will find everything you need to prepare meals for 12 and serve meals for 24 (who wants to do dishes every day on vacation?), or to call for takeout or delivery (menus from local restaurants are at the house).

There are many special events throughout the year, such as the Cruz’In Classic Car Show, the Arts and Crafts Festival, and the Wine and Jazz Festival. But, you can easily spend any day just in the walk-able picturesque towns of Whitehall and Montague with its many unique shops and attractive places to get some tasty food and drinks. Montague and Whitehall boast a handful of excellent craft beer, wine, and spirits makers.
