Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)
This cabin is located directly on the Bon Secour River, in Bon Secour near Foley. Alabama. It is a stilted cabin, which looks out over a bend in the river where birds and wildlife abound. You can fish from the cabin's own dock or bring your boat and explore the river, Bon Secour Bay, Mobile Bay, the intracoastal waterway, or even the Gulf of Mexico. It's also a great river for kayaking.
Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are just minutes away if you need to get away from the tranquility of the cabin. Beaches, golf courses, shopping, outlet malls, nightlife, you name it. Even the Casinos of Biloxi and Gulfport are less than two hours away.
You can even go over to Pensacola Florida and watch the Blue Angeles at the Naval Air Station, only 40 minutes away. At this Bon Secour cabin, you can do as much or as little as you like.
The cabin has a full kitchen, living room with flat screen TV, plus a Flat screen TV in the master. And another flat screen in the second bedroom. Cable included. Queen bed in the master, full size in the second bedroom. You can sit out on the porch overlooking the dock and river or go downstairs to enjoy the river from the porch swing, table and chairs and both a gas and charcoal grill. A boat ramp is located on site.

About Mike McBrayer
My partners and I love to fish. We love boating and just being on the water.
Mike McBrayer purchased this Cabin in 2007
Why Mike McBrayer chose Foley
This is one very pretty little river. We travel down to the gulf coast constantly. Most of our locations tend to be on the beach or bay so when we happended upon this great place on this terrific river we had to get it. It would be our fishing cabin and we would treat our guest as fellow fishing buds.
What makes this Cabin unique
The beach is nice but the Bon Secour River is really what rest and relaxation is all about. Just having the boat steps away is worth it all. Within minutes you can be catching fish or just cruising the river. Even kayaking up river into the fresh water to catch a bass or get a look at a gator. And world class dining is only a couple of miles away over at Tin Top. And of course all that beach stuff is just down the road.

Awesome little cabin. Very peaceful. So close to everything but so far away from everything!
Everything was just perfect.
Hey Clay, thanks for staying at our little piece of paradise. I'm going to borrow your headline, I love it! "So close to everything but so far away from everything". That is great. Thank you for the kind words and come back when you can.
Beautiful a lil piece heaven
We'll definitely be back in a couple of months.
Would definitely go back!
The house was exactly as described. 2 good sized bedrooms, full bath, fully equipped kitchen with good appliances, and TV's in both bedrooms and living room. 2 kayaks were provided and we went out in them a couple of times...a new experience for both of us! The Bon Secour River (French for Safe Harbor) is a wonderfully peaceful setting and nice for first time kayakers. We were there for Hurricane Nate and felt safe and secure. There are several nice restaurants nearby and lots of shopping. The downtown area of Foley is very sweet and has a couple of free museums. The city of Fairhope is very nice and is about a 30 - 40 minute drive and well worth it. We would definitely consider going back for another relaxing vacation.
Thank you Kathy and I'm so glad you enjoyed our little cabin. You and your husband were such great guests and I appreciate how you fearlessly embraced Hurricane Nate and sent me pictures of the river rising (but not getting above the dock). Please come back when you can. I owe you dinner at Tin Top for your bravery! And really? Foley has a couple of free museums?? I am embarrassed to admit I didn't know that so thanks for educating me.
What a great place.
My wife and our boys stayed at Mike's Oct. 8-12, 2015. Had a great time. The house is located within 15 minutes of everything. My oldest son and I fished Perdido Pass, Little Lagoon, Bon Secour at Billy's Seafood, and Dixie Bar/Fort Morgan. All withing a few minutes of the house. My wife and youngest went to the Shrimp Festival and outlets (5 minutes away). Dock was great and wildlife everywhere. Wouldn't believe dauphins come this far up, but they came every morning and evening we were there. We will be back. Mike is a great host and Chad Christian and Jason Padgett are great neighbors to have during your stay. Everyone was very nice.
Will be staying here again soon. GREAT place to stay. Clean, quite and very close to everything.
Perfect River Cabin
My husband and I spent the winter months at the River Cabin and it is all that the site says and more. Sitting on the deck or on the patio under the house, you not only enjoy the river but the pelicans diving for fish, ducks paddling by, occasional dolphins, and boaters and/or kayakers. We were within 10-15 minutes of the gulf and golf courses. Great places to eat abound and would recommend the Tin Top, Poppa Rocco's, Flora-Bama, and Wintzler's. The owner -Mike- is a pleasure to work with. We can't wait to go back.
Plenty of guides in the area and they will gladly pick you up at our dock.
