River Rock is a three bedroom, two bath cabin located in a private park-like setting on 11 beautiful acres of grassy meadows, waterfalls, and tranquil trout stream.
If you are looking for a secluded and private streamside retreat, you will not find a better location anywhere. Elk Creek, which is rated as one of the cleanest in all of North Carolina; runs right in front of this cabin. The sounds of the rushing stream can be heard throughout the property and the decks on River Rock overlook the stream and a gorgeous grassy meadow where deer and other wildlife frequently roam.
This mountain retreat offers privacy seclusion with easy access, but yet is convenient to area attractions as it is only 10 minutes off the Blue Ridge Parkway, 10 minutes to horseback riding at Leatherwood stables, 20 minutes to downtown Boone (great for ASU football weekends), 30 minutes to Blowing Rock (excellent dining and shopping) and 30-45 minutes to 4 different ski areas.
River Rock offers rustic comfort with a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, WIFI, satellite TV, washer & dryer, propane gas and electric heaters, and all the bed linens and towels to make your stay comfortable. There is also a gorgeous stone (river rock) fireplace in the living room that creates a very warm and cozy atmosphere. The cabin has its very own fire ring (great for family marshmallow roasts-please do not use inside fireplace:), as well as access to hiking trails which lead to a beautiful 20 ft waterfall. There is also a picnic table on the property where you can sit and relax to the sounds of the stream, or have lunch in the middle of the mountains!
The privacy of this property makes it ideal for anything from a quiet honeymoon or romantic weekend to a memorable family vacation.

We enjoyed our stay at River Rock! There was always a place to sit and reflect, play games, watch TV or read. There were many games and movies available for our use. We enjoyed the hot tub, playing in the river, and sitting on the deck. Pro tip: bring beach chairs to lounge in the river if it is low enough. There was an issue out of the hosts control as can happen with any home, but everything was handled quickly and efficiently. The host was very responsive. It was so nice to be able to vacation with our pups. We would love to return to RiverRock someday!

Our family very much enjoyed our stay! The cabin is adorable and the property is amazing!! We loved hanging out by the beautiful river and just relaxing. We drove around 30 minutes to go tubing one day and to ‘Trash Can Falls’ for the kids to jump off boulders into a swimming hole another day. Otherwise, just had fun hiking around the property and cooling off in the water. Will definitely be back!!

Great house, giant creek, fire pit by the creek and lots of amenities. Hot tub was awesome. So much to explore on the property. Nice waterfall. Extremely private. So many stars are visible at night! Our family and 2 dogs had an absolute blast! Would rent this place again in a heartbeat!

This was an absolutely wonderful little get-a-way for our family of 7. The kids LOVED the creek, the swing, the firepit for some smores and the hike to the waterfall. We all enjoyed the hot tub and corn hole and Foosball. The rooms were all clean and cozy with plenty of extra bedding, towels etc. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the comfy living room furniture/couch. The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies/appliances/utensils and the grill was a major bonus! This is the perfect spot if you want a place to escape. We enjoyed a quick trip to Blowing Rock and would love to check out the few other attractions in Boone next stay! Communication with John was great, he made sure we were settled and had everything we needed. 10/10 recommend!
