Bienvenido a Hamakua Pukana La Hale - ¡Un alquiler de vacaciones completamente nuevo!

¡Esta bellamente decorada casa de 3 habitaciones y 2 baños está ubicada en una parcela de acres privada a lo largo de la costa de Hamakua, justo al norte de Hilo! Esta nueva casa de alquiler de vacaciones con vista al mar tiene capacidad para 7 personas, máximo 4 adultos y 3 niños. El paisaje y los terrenos son espectaculares, con un Buda de 6 pies de altura y un espacio de meditación también. Las puertas francesas se abren para permitir que los vientos alisios llenen la casa. No se necesita aire acondicionado aquí! De diciembre a marzo es la temporada de la ballena, y tendrás un asiento de primera fila para toda la actividad de la ballena que puedas tomar.

La cocina es grande y fácil de trabajar y, por supuesto, cuenta con todas las comodidades que necesitará para preparar esas deliciosas comidas isleñas. El dormitorio principal con su baño en suite, cama king size, vista al mar privado y una galería proyectada en lanai es el lugar perfecto para escapar después de un largo día de turismo. La primera habitación de huéspedes tiene una cama de matrimonio y la segunda habitación de huéspedes tiene una litera para los niños más pequeños, con una parte inferior completa y una doble en la parte superior.

Desde esta conveniente ubicación, explore la antigua ciudad de Hilo con su gran mercado de granjeros y museos históricos y debe ver paradas. También descubra el hermoso Parque Akaka Water Falls y la Antigua Carretera Mamalahoa, la carretera original construida en los años 20 que lo llevó desde la ciudad de Hilo hasta el hermoso país de los caballos de Waimea.

The directions were great and the host provided them in advance. There was a smoke detector that went off twice early in the morning and the host had the maintenance man come out that day to resolve the problem. The house was as described and clean. We’d stay again.

We loved our home base

It was amazing to have a comfortable home while out exploring the island! We are from Georgia and had a brief panic when we realized there was no air conditioning, but were impressed with how pleasant the house quickly becomes with open windows. It was a great stay - I wouldn’t change a thing!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an enjoyable time here. The location was easy to get to and a centralized location. We had some problems with the internet, but after unplugging and replugging the problem was solved. Our only complaint is that we were unable to get cell phone service while at the house. This is due to the location of the property, not the owner's fault.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this rental is surrounded by greenery. It's on the rainy outside of the island so do expect some rain. Everything you need is provided. The beds are comfortable and the linens are clean. The washer and dryer was very convenient. The host was quick to respond when we tried to contact them. Grab groceries before you head here it's about 35 minute drive from Hilo. The drive to Kona is beautiful. If you plan to do activities I would book a couple in one day, due to the driving time. Beach supplies were also included which was very nice.

Misleading Picture of the House

First of, the picture listed of the house is NOT the actual house. Positives: Location was nice with good distance/access. View from the house was beautiful. Spacious for 7 people. It was nice to have washer/dryer. The Hawaii Life folks were responsive.Negatives: completely misled with the pictures of where the house is relative to the area. Bit dirty; lots of dust/dirt on kitchen counters. No cell signal; make sure you have call over wifi active, otherwise make sure to have the email for Hawaii Life rep to communicate. House needs a bit of updating; no instructions on some of the outdated features (incl shower) so it took effort to figure out how to operate. Wouldve been nice to have more toiletries; 2 tiny bars of soap for 7 people is ridiculous. Biggest issues was the moldy smell of the entire house (incl bed).. Would not stay at this location again

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view from the lanai and living room is awesome. We could easily see over the first tier of homes. Quite close to the highway, but noise wasn't a problem. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well-appointed, plenty of towels and beach accessories. The furniture is nice (just wish there was more of it in the living room). Very close to Akaka Falls, but about 20 minutes from Hilo. The mosquitoes are horrible--come prepared with deet! Also, not enough laundry or dish soap is provided (rather silly, considering what renters are paying). The single story layout was perfect for my 85-yr-old mother, although she did note a lack of grab bars. I do recommend this home, but you'll enjoy it more if you're prepared!

No wine glasses - (issue is now fixed as we bought some from target and left behind! :) )Coffee pot could be upgradedOverall the cons we felt were very minimal things (except the water but hopefully they fix the problem!) It is a little far from everything so expect to drive- the flipside of that is that it is a beautiful drive! Our favorite close-by spot was Laupahoehoe beach park (10 min) and Waimea Town (30min). Our suggestion is to get groceries before arriving to the house if you can, each big store is about 30-40 min drive. Be sure to pack a sweater because you’ll want to watch the sunrise from the lanai but it can feel a little chilly!

It was comfortable, clean, had sufficient amount of amenities, and the TV was SMART - so a few latest technologies were included. The home was a bit out of the way for us, as the reason for the trip being our attendance at the Merrie Monarch festival in Hilo, the description and directions to the home were very accurate. My only comment, which is strictly personal, is I would choose other accent decor...the tikiʻs, tribal masks, and little coconut figurines kind of weirded us out from a local perspective. Again, only personal opinion. Otherwise, Hamakua Pukana La Hale was a lovely vacation getaway! Mahalo!

Nice location - secluded with nice views of the ocean.

Great house. A little warm during the day, but we were out of the house most of the time - cools off nice in the evening. House is a little far from many of the tourist activities (this is both good and bad - really quite area). 35-40 mins to Hilo, a little over an hour to Hapuna Beach. Nice kitchen set up - used everyday for breakfast and some dinners. We really enjoyed our stay.
