Management - We are a small family company. Lauren is from Dallas, TX and Fernando is from Barcelona, Spain. We currently run 16 holiday apartments in Barcelona and 2 furnished homes in Dallas. Extras - Introductory neighborhood tour. Transportation to and from the airport. Groceries on arrival.
Great location, midway between Blue Mosque and Sophia Hagia. Police gathering point close by (for those interested in security). Owners made accommodation to meet us earlier in the day on short notice due to early arrival. Easy check in-check out. Clean, LOTS of towels (bring your own washcloths), but could have used some softener ;-); not enough bed sheets, though, appropriate for the double bed. Minor inconveniences for such a good location. Provided us with one gallon of store-bought water to start the week off. Good value for the money. Would definitely visit again.
Loved the appartment : convenient location (minutes from Aya Sofia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace). We were 4 people and it was just perfect. My parents loved the place and didn't wanna leave ;)
There are small convenient stores in the area.. but if walk 10 min up Peykhane street, you can find a supermarket called BIM (close to Cordial House) with almost everything. Marco was very helpful for the check-in, and called us 2 days after to check on us, and if we needed anything else. I will recommand this place to anyone ...
The process of booking online was very good.
We found this apartment an excellent choice. It was so so central for all the sites in Sultanhamet and the view of the Blue Mosque was magic. It was really clean and beautifully furnished with some lovely old pieces of furniture. Very good qualily bed linen and bedding and loads and loads of good qualiy towels. The photos on the web site do not quite do it justice. Much nicer in reality. But as advised on web site there are some stairs to negotiate so not for the very frail. My husband is 71 and I am 65 and we had no difficulty whatever. Be sure to check where stair electriciy switches are on arrival .
We stayed in an apartment owned by Fernando and Laura last year in Barcelona and had a good experience, so renting with them in Istanbul was a given.
We spent a week in this apartment, 2 adults and 2 kids ages 10 and 11. The location is perfect, a short walk to the Blue Mosque and the center of Istanbul for tourists. The apartment has two bedrooms with two additional beds off the living room and a fold-out sofa. Lots of sleeping options. We had extra towels and bed linens, a washing machine and AIR CONDITIONING and ceiling fans.
The kitchen was small but well equipped (cooktop + microwave, no oven which was not a problem for us). The bathroom is small but functions well.
The apartment was clean and had bottled water chilled in the refrigerator when we arrived. Also you will find a nice selection of tour books about Istanbul and decent WiFi in the apartment.
There is a grocery store about a 10 minute walk from the apartment. The DIA is large (for this area of Istanbul) and there are fresh fruit and veggies sold from trucks in the streets nearby.
The Restaurant Lady Diana is right across the street - and will do takeout for dinner, or you can eat there. They had great food and very good prices.
If you are coming to Istanbul, do bring earplugs. This great location is close enough that the 4:27am call to prayer will wake you up!
Note that is is a SMALL street and unfamiliar to our cab driver - it is around the back of the Four Seasons. It took us a few minutes to find it after being dropped off. The parking lot to the left side of the Blue Mosque (between the Mosque and the Aya Sofya) might be a better dropping off point.
We had a wonderful visit to Istanbul -- and loved this apartment!
4 adults stayed here for 4 nights in mid April. The apartment has 3 bedrooms. One bedroom has the 2 twin beds. The bedrooms each with a double bed were a good size. The beds were fine. The one bathroom was small...average size for non-american style place to stay in Europe, The hot water was OK, Appartment did have a small combination washer/clothes dryer. The kitchen was small...a tight squeeze 2 people. The living room combination dinning room was also small and got crowded with 4 adults. It did have a partial view of the Blue Mosque...a nice amazing view. We had a hard time finding the place. The street isn't very long...maybe 2 blocks or so and not many people knew about it. It is on the same street as the restaurant "The Meat House Restaurant"...if you're trying to find the apartment ask for the restaurant. The apartment is one block closer to the Blue Mosque on the opposite side of the street.. I thought the photos of the place were accurate. The best thing is the location. A 2 minute walk to stand in front of the Blue Mosque then turn around for an amazing view of the Hagia Sophia. There were fantastic places to eat just a few blocks away. The neighborhood was safe at any hour. The stairs were not a big deal for anyone in my group. The call to prayer was loud but not a big deal. We also stayed in an apartment in the modern section for 3 nights. If I had to do it over I would have stayed all 7 nights in the Sultanahmet area. We found ourselves always coming across the water anyway. I would definitely recommend the apartment. E-mail responses were prompt and helpful. .
We enjoyed our stay here in the comforts of home. We especially loved having the books on Istanbul, free wifi, washer and dryer (though the dryer takes a while) and the tv & dvd. The room adjacent to the living room hears the loud call to prayer the worst. Be prepared with earplugs and using the 2nd pillow to cover your ears at 6am. Be prepared for a few flights of stairs up to the apartment, best to pack light. The location is excellent, within walking distance to all the sights. It literally is a block from the Four Seasons as Elif has you meet her there. Nearby, the Meat House was good (fresh warm bread!) and the roof top views of the Seven Hills hotel were great! You can go up just to take photos, or a meal. We used a taxi from Ataturk airport to the apartment, cost us 30liras. I also recommend the Backpackers Travel airport service for 20euros per car. Punctual, clean, and polite. All in all, a lovely stay. I appreciate you letting us leave our luggage upon checkout, and use of a local phone! So helpful. I would stay here again for sure!
