About John

My family and I love to ski. But we all have busy schedules so Tremblant offers the opportunity to ski when we can but also the opportunity to enjoy the summer in the Tremblant area. We like the winters in Tremblant because of the great skiing and cosy atmosphere of the town and our place. But we also like all the summer activities available in the area.

We're from Ontario so its a long drive but worth it when we arrive. Each trip is like a mini vacation to a foreign country. We like using our condo and we like sharing it with others.

John purchased this chalet in 2006

Why John chose Mont Tremblant

We bought the property to enjoy time away as a family together skiing or enjoying the many activies in the area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi John. Sorry I didn't email you earlier. I've been back to the rat race hard since being home. I just wanted to express how amazing our experience with your town house was. Every one had a great time and loved the location and amazing view.

Great Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This very clean and spacious condo was perfect for our special family celebration. John, the owner, was very accomodating and directions provided were excellent. We had everything we needed to make our stay a most pleasant one. We highly recommend this property for anyone planning a visit to Mont Tremblant.

Our stay

  • 4 of 5

The experience was great - there are some things that need improving though. The bunk beds are very uncomfortable and some cupboards that are on their last legs. The floor board on the way into the facility at the top step (into the main living area) is very loose and dangerous. The showers are not great either, the pressure is weak and the door is loose.

Overall very good but we stayed there last year and notice a difference for sure and the price has gone up so would have hoped to see some improvements.

There are some supplies missing from the kitchen that I would consider basics like garlic press, pasta strainer (unless I missed that) but overall not really different than what I would expect. I would just plan around that for another stay.

"Home away from home" - enjoy it in the Winter, Summer, Spring or Fall!!

  • 5 of 5

We also had the good fortune to stay at John's condo in February 2016 for a family ski trip. The jury is out on which season we preferred (see my other review from July 2016). Regardless of what season, the condo has been consistently clean and comfortable. It is not your 'cookie cutter condo' - it is welcoming, beautifully decorated and inviting. We enjoyed the apres ski ambiance with the fireplace (we bought a case of Dura flame logs) It sleeps 12 people and is very spacious. The beds are very comfortable. John has responded promptly to my emails and the condo website instructions/directions are accurate. The condo photos & amenities described are on point.

We brought all our food/meals for the weekend & the kitchen is well appointed. There is a BBQ on the deck- we had to dig a path to get to it due to a huge snowfall but the taste of the BBQ'd steaks in February was worth the shoveling! There are very nice grocery stores in St. Jovite (a town close by) or in the small Mt. Tremblant Village (bottom of hill) is a depanneur and a small grocery store (complete with wine, beer, awesome St. Donat pecan pie and firewood) and there are restaurants, bars, and shops galore in the area.

We bought ski passes for Tremblant @ Costco & they have Spa Scandinave Mont Tremblant passes available too. You can skate on Lac Mercier (in the village), toboggan, go dog sledding, cross-country ski, Skidoo - there are rental stores in the area - if you don't have your own equipment. Despite it being quite cold, the outdoor hot tub was fabulous, especially after skiing. If you are unable to do outdoor activities, simply enjoy the mountain view sitting by the cozy fire with a glass of wine / hot chocolate in hand.

Note: snow tires, SUV, 4x4 - highly recommended - after all, you are in the Laurentian Mountains. There is a FREE ski bus to Mont Tremblant. There are several pick-up locations at Cap Tremblant.

Thank you again, John. We had a wonderful time creating new family memories.

If you are looking for a “home away from home” – John’s condo (VBRO #150420) is the place for you...

  • 5 of 5

John has been responsive with our communications and the link provided upon arrival is clear & informative. The condo is in a convenient location, it is minutes away from Old Mt Tremblant Village. The Old Village is located on the picturesque shore of Lac Mercier complete with restaurants, art shops, un depanneur & a small grocery store. The drive to Mt Tremblant (mountain & Village) is 10 minutes away by car – about 5 km.The photos & description of the condo are very accurate. It is not your typical standard condo; it is beautifully decorated w/ many unique “Laurentian Quebec” touches that make it so inviting. There are 5 bedrooms -sleeps 12 total. It is ideal for a family, a couple of families or couples. The ‘living area’ is an open concept– comfortable living & dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is small but it never was an issue. It is well appointed with modern appliances and stocked with ample glasses & plates. The wood burning fireplace adds such ambience. There is a large TV in the living room with cable and 2 others in the bedrooms and also has free WiFI. Both bathrooms are both-double sinks, tub/shower and large spa tub in master, also a washer/dryer. There are 2 decks- the main deck has a dining set & gas BBQ. Simple but effective- a punch code operated door lock- no need to worry about keys. Ski locker is located @ entrance of the condo. AND the View….it overlooks the mountains & has a partial view of Lac Mercier. Your vacation can be very active or spend time enjoying the view with deer passing by the deck. There are 3 clay tennis courts and 2 pools/hot tubs situated below the condo w/ lifeguards & a very fast & fun water slide. At the reception building, there is: an adult only (unheated) pool w/hot tub - (very quiet). massage/spa & Il Pinnacolo restaurant. Highlights/Tips- Biking along sections of The P'tite Train du Nord- a 200km trail, built on an old railway line. Hiking to the Mt. Tremblant summit– my family did the Grand Prix des Couleurs Trail-a 2.7 km trail & I took the $20 return gondola ride to the summit. The view is fabulous at 875 meters (2871 feet). Parc National du Mont Tremblant is rugged & absolutely gorgeous-$8/day pass. Kayaking along the Riviere Rouge- a giant lazy river w/sandy beaches to swim and picnic. Fee is $6/pp @ Lac Mercier beach-show receipt you are staying at Cap Tremblant = free. Gondola @Tremblant from the village to the casino (free) –open on the weekends evenings, free shuttles too. Local bus-$3/pp

A great stay at Cap Tremblant

  • 5 of 5

We were two families staying at the condo for 4 nights, each with two children ages 9 and 12. The location of the property is excellent as it is right near both the tennis courts and the pool area. The condo is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The hill is only a couple of minutes away and we also made a day trip to the water park in St. Savuer which was lots of fun. John is very accessible and checked in with us upon arrival to ensure everything was in order. The home away app was terrific as it provides all the information you require about the place on your device. I would definitely recommend this unit for your vacation and would return again. Thanks John for sharing your place with us!!

We went to Mont Tremblant for triathlon training and had a great experience staying at this property. Perfectly located, and the owner was very attentive and accommodating in every way. Will definitely be checking this property first for next year's visit to Tremblant!
