My Favorite Season Fall at the Lake! Private Lake Community

Bedrooms 2
Half Baths1
Space 990 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Fall is my favorite season at The Cabin. The weather is perfect, the water is still warm, the colors are intoxicating and add an evening fire and you have perfection! Plan your family getaway or take some time for yourself at The Cabin. A private spring fed lake and 70 acres of walking trails. There is a water trampoline (seasonal), canoes, kayaks and paddleboats for you to enjoy. There is also calm and relaxation. Been planning to read a book - this is the place.

Road America is 11 miles from this private lake community. Elkhart Lake along with the infamous Kohler golf courses are 14 miles from our lake. Lake Michigan is just 20 miles from the cabin.

My husband built this long house style cabin in 2003, for our family. It is the perfect place to bring your family and spend time having fun and relaxing together. The cabin is bright and enveloping. Take some time to read, to rest, to hike, to swim, to play games, and to spend time together.

The community consists of 10 vacation homes. All our neighbors are considerate and are there for the same reasons we are; to get away and enjoy the peaceful beauty with our families. You will love the rustic feel of the cabin and yet, it has all the necessary amenities of home.

It is fabulous! Walk the cut trails through the woods and prairie, watch for deer, owls, and the waterfowl on the creek. This one of a kind place is something you must experience, we are sure you will want to return year after year. We look forward to meeting you.

It is important to us that our home meets your standards, please take the time to pick up prior to leaving, it will help us with the next guest's preparations.

Why Dawn Knitter chose Wisconsin

This property is unique. Don't miss an opportunity to spend some time at The Cabin. It is impossible to describe, our visitors are always surprised with what they see no matter how much we try to describe it them. It is a one of a kind and everyone who has visited or stayed with us loves it.

What makes this cabin unique

Imagine driving on a county highway in rural Wisconsin, passing farms with acres of open farmland, passing through small towns that are not even a mile long and then turning down a gravel road, being greeted by the beautiful cows at the top of the road and continuing a short distance to find an ornate gate leading into The Willows. Upon entering you will see beautiful rustic cabins and homes with a picturesque spring fed lake directly in front of you. The remainder of the property cannot be adequately described, you must see it. This is a friendly private community that you will want to return to.

This cabin built in 2003, has a full kitchen with all necessary cooking items. It includes a table that can seat 12. It is extremely bright and friendly. There is an enclosed bedroom with queen bed, a lofted bedroom with 2 trundle beds, one can be made into a king bed, and the living room has a new queen sofa bed. All linens are provided. The deck is the place to spend the day relaxing and the patio area is great for grilling and includes a table for 6. When it cools down, there is plenty of wood for the patio fire pit..enjoy a glass of wine and don't forget the smores. This lake is spring fed and absolutely beautiful to swim in or float around and relax. This is a NO motor lake community. There are a number of dogs around and they do visit through out the day. This is an incredibly fun yet relaxing atmosphere; come and experience it.

Get away from it all at The Willows

  • 4 of 5

My husband, two young children, 7 month old pup and I had a wonderful time getting away from it all at The Willows. The Knitters home was very welcoming and the lake called our name! We enjoyed kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and the water trampoline. If you are looking for high energy, then this is not the place for you. This is a relax, read a book, melt some s'mores and get away from the stresses of everyday life.

Amazing house and location. Perfect for a quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my German shepherd went away for 4 days to this beautiful lake house. On arriving we had a little difficulty getting hold of the owners, but other than that the weekend was flawless. The house was stunning, had all the amenities you needed, there was an information document printed telling me where all the closest grocery stores were, restaurants etc.

I spent all 4 days doing some trail walks with the dog, hanging out on the small "beach" and reading. It was a much needed peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bussel of the city. My dog shadow also loved it. I haven't seen a dog more excited to be off leash all the time and play in the water.

I would recommend it to everybody looking for a quiet vacation.

Perfect Moms' group getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this unique and charming cabin. The weather was unseasonably cold, so we just relaxed on comfy couches around a roaring fire in the beautiful stone fireplace. Dawn was a thoughtful host, giving us suggestions for restaurants in the area, as well as welcoming us with us a spray of fresh lilacs in a vase on a table! I'd highly recommend Dawn's cabin and hope to return!

Summer Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family vacation at the Knitter Cabin was very relaxing. We had 8 people but there was always space for everyone. Dawn met us on arrival and is a fantastic hostess. We enjoyed our time at their lake as well as the short day trips to Elkhart Lake and Sheboygan.
