About this property
Authentic Adirondack, Magical Experience!
Stay up off the ground in our cozy treehouse. A circular space that is the perfect base camp for your next adventure - or a unique spot to curl up with a good book. Close to our home, this the perfect place to be in the woods, but not isolated. Cook your meals in the nearby cookhouse on a camping stove, over an open campfire, or use the gas grill. A private bathroom/shower is available in our office building. We provide you with bedding and towels, plus help you plan your trip. Property includes miles of hiking trails! Snowshoes provided in the winter.
Rural, but centrally located, The Magical Treehouse is seven miles north of Paul Smiths College on Rt. 30. You’ll be in one of the most varied wilderness areas of the park.
The Paul Smith's College Visitors Interpretive Center is five miles away with wonderful hiking trails and educational programs for the whole family.
You’ll be 25 minutes to Saranac Lake or Malone; 35 minutes to Lake Placid and its Olympic venues; 50 minutes to Whiteface Mountain. The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks (the Wild Center) is 40 minutes away in Tupper Lake.
The Magical Treehouse has a single room with a very comfortable Queen size bed, a table, and cozy chairs. Your bathroom/shower is in a separate building 20' away, and your cookhouse is in a screened in area and is 50' away.
There is a nice campfire spot for summer marshmallow roasts or quiet fire gazing. A complimentary bundle of campfire wood is available for your use.
You can cook meals in the screened in cookhouse and a spigot nearby provides water. The cookhouse has all the pots, dishes, utensils and tools you'll need to make a great meal.
There are over 5 miles of hiking trails on the property to explore and nearby trails are excellent for mountain biking with both back country roads and single-track. Designated horseback riding trail heads are less than a mile away. A “Wild and Scenic Study River,” the Osgood, flows nearby with put-in and take-outs within a couple of miles of our driveway. Drop-off and pick-up arrangements can be made. This is a “must paddle” for those interested in wildlife and scenery. Many have spotted the bald eagle who has a nest at the river’s edge. We are surrounded by many great fishing spots.
You'll have 50 acres to explore, including purpose-built mountain biking trails!
Your hosts will be available 24/7 if you need anything. We live on site.
Everything that you'll need is here. All you have to do is bring your food and your adventurous spirit.

About the host
Hosted by The Delarm Eckert Family
Bob, Hannah, Luke & Sheila enjoy traveling, but they love the Adirondacks and can't imagine living anywhere else.
Your hosts, Bob and Sheila, are a former professional wilderness guide, and a life-long resident of the Paul Smith’s area. Between the two of them, good advice—connecting you to great experiences and unique destinations—is as close to a “sure thing” as you can get. The temporary use of their brains is complimentary!

Why they chose this property
This treehouse was build by the family when the children were young. Now that they've grown up we want to share it with travelers.
What makes this property unique
This place is more than a rental to us. It was built by our family when the kids were little and it's soooo beautiful, they're now grown and it's meant to be shared. You will be treated as family (we mean that in all the good ways :) during your stay and we are happy to help with anything you may need so that your Adirondack adventure is a "Wow!".
