Overall, it was ok. The location was peaceful and relaxing, and we loved the layout of the house. But the place was difficult to find after dark, as the property was not well lit, nor were any exterior lights left on. I accidentally pulled into the neighboring cabin, causing the guests to be distrupted and annoyed. The spiral staircase to the basement was a little sketchy, and the furniture in the basement area was broken. The blinds on the sliding door were also broken, so it provided no privacy.

The washer did not work, the dishwasher, mixer and microwave did not work. Many counter outlets did not work. The propane grill was out of propane. There was a spare propane tank, however the fitting was not the same and could not be used. The basement was damp and had the smell of mold. One of our gusts became ill because of this. The kitchen double glass doors had vertical blinds that were missing many panels. There was a power outage on one day from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM, and we were not informed of this scheduled outage by the owner or manager. During this time our guests had no heat and no way of using the stove to cook meals. Because of the numerous issues, we attempted on several occasions to resolve the issues with the owner, however to no avail. The owner should have offered a partial refund. I had stay in this home 5 years previously and it was excellent. Unfortunately, the new owner has let it run down. I am embarrassed that I recommended this home to my friends. Smoke alarms should also be added in all of the bedrooms and living room. I could not recommend this property until significant maintenance "by qualified professionals" is performed.

The kitchen had everything we needed and was beautiful. The extra touch with coffee choices was awesome. The porch was nice being covered and would be beneficial when it rains. Both bathrooms were big and lots of counter space. Master bedroom was huge and beds were so comfortable. We could’ve stayed a week and the location was perfect.

We loved the place and had a great time in the area. We did not use the hot tub, so we can’t speak to that. The kitchen was great. It have everything we needed. We would go back. We saw a bull elk and 10-15 cows less than 1/2 mile from here. See picture.

Short trip away

The house and property were well kept. Everything was clean and better than expected. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. The property manager was quick to respond with any questions. We definitely recommend this home and are considering returning again in the fall. We loved relaxing in the hot tub after a day of walking and sightseeing.

This place is so beautiful and the Mountain View is breathtaking !!!!! Huge kitchen for many family meals and beautiful porch and hot tub.

Disappointed

Dishes were dirty in the Cupboards had to wash before we could use them. Downstairs recliners were broken. We were told that they had firewood but there wasn’t any. Messaged the host and was told sorry for the inconvenience go buy some. Went to use the gas grill gas wasn’t even hooked up. Tried to hook it up but we couldn’t so we contacted the host and was told to go to another camp and get what was needed off that grill and to make things worse we had to walk up a extremely slippery and steep hill to even get to that other camp. And then carry the heavy bottle back down that hill.

Sons Christmas Gift- to the mountains

Was great from beginning to end. Super close to the river so we could fish and walk, was nice the first day with some deep areas. I’d bet when the water warms up a little it’ll be nice to swim. The dogs loved it and the nice yard to play in. The grill hot tub and fire pit were all a hit outside, Went a short drive to the visitor center and saw about 40 elk in the field the second day even with rain on and off. We bought a puzzle there and hung out and drank and did it that night since it was too cold and rainy to be outside. 500 pieces was a little ambitious but we’ve left it for other guests to also attempt. Overall great trip, location and everything in the house was perfect. Very homey.

Quiet getaway in Elk Country

Nice, spacious place with a large yard and fantastic outdoor porch. Property backs up against some very nice woods and a nearby creek. Very quiet and relaxing. The kitchen was fully equipped and convenient for all meals. There was a propane grill outside which I didn't get the chance to use. Quick 10 minute drive to Benezette where you'll find the Elk Country Visitor's Center and Winslow Hill Elk Viewing Area. Winslow Hill is by far the best place to see the elk at dawn and dusk. Highly recommend for a relaxing nature getaway!

Communication with owner was great. Beds were super comfortable. Took a little bit to figure out the wall unit heaters but once we did they heated the area very well.

Beautiful Location.

Enjoyed the views, we saw 30 elk. Location is perfect. I personally enjoyed the hot tub. Very clean!! Would recommend. Was also very private. Thank you.

Our trip

This property has a wonderful location especially if you’re looking to quad or side by side right outside your door. 3 rd bedroom in basement could use a dehumidifier and possibly a bathroom. The kitchen was wonderful and had everything you could need. Overall a nice place to stay
