Beach Access in this private beach community with one mile of beach! Summer is a wonderful time of year for a romantic getaway, family celebration, or long weekend staycation. This cozy and comfy beach house is a short walk/drive to the private community beach. Come beach comb one mile of shoreline, take in a beautiful morning sunrise and enjoy the calm waters of the bay. A great area for families, couples retreat and traveling workers.
We provide beach chairs (variety of sizes), shade tent, beach umbrella, kayaks w/life jackets, beach wagon, beach towels, beach sand toys, outdoor games/indoor board games, cooler, two grills and so much more.

Southern Maryland has beautiful hiking trails, parks, delicious restaurants and small towns to explore. During your stay, you will have a well stocked house with all you need when getting away. Full kitchen food prep essentials, and cooking tools. Included are bed linens, bath towels, starter pack of paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, toiletries, and more. House has great wifi, tv with app streaming. This cozy vintage house is great for working remote, taking a relaxing vacay, or if you need a short term rental. Budget friendly and a short drive from DC, Virginia and a few hours from PA. Why drive across the Bay bridge and deal with the traffic? Southern Maryland is a wonderful place to explore for all ages and all seasons! We have awesome hiking trails, restaurants, beaches, kayak launches, art/antique shops and more!

Check-out instructions

The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the keys
Check out is 10:00 a.m. Please return beach parking pass and gate key to the desk. Sweep up sand from floor areas. Leave sheets and bedding on bed.
Place used towels in tub. Remove food from fridge and dispose of trash. All trash should be bagged and disposed in outdoor container. Please leave house as you found it.
Please remove your belongings from dressers, closets and bathroom. Message host when you have checked out.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
You must be 25 or over to book. Once you book, please send number in your group including ages of children. Notify me if your dog is coming with you
No smoking of any kind in house. Extra cleaning fees will be charged as well as losing deposit. Guests are to obey posted beach rules.

Great location, so quiet, the host was so nice. They made sure everything was set before arriving. Definitely worth it, if you have time the beach isn't that far away. All amenities listed are here, and the amenities also work.

Wonderful St. Leonard Beach House

This quaint beach house is just a short walk to a private beach. We really enjoyed our 3-night stay and took daily advantage of the location to the beach and other sites, such as farmer's markets. Great communication with Chris, the manager, leading up to the day we arrived.

Fantastic beach house!

This beach house perfectly suited our needs - close to the beach, clean, and comfortable. It’s incredibly well stocked with everything needed or wanted - the supply of beach things (toys, towels, wagon, etc) was particularly helpful! Chris was pleasant and extremely accommodating, allowing us to book the house within hours of arrival. We will definitely book again when we’re in the area!

My wife and I spent the week at this property. Short drive to the beach. It was very clean and cozy. What a nice relaxing week. The beach was dog friendly and the lab swam all day long. We saw very few people at the beach, but everyone was very friendly. We would return.

Good for relaxing beach trip

This property served us and our kids well. It was nice that we each had a separate sleeping space. We also really enjoyed how stocked the house was with toys both for the house and for the beach. We enjoyed using the kayaks as well. The physical condition of the inside of the house could use a little extra upkeep but for the short time we were there, the house served us well.

Peaceful Getaway

The pictures and description were accurate. Chris was great to work with and she clearly places an emphasis on creating an inviting space. She was very responsive to anything we needed. As she mentioned in a previous review, this is an older home that is well maintained with the goal of providing an affordable and pleasant stay. We enjoyed our time and the neighborhood was one of the quietest places we've stayed in a long time.

Fossil finding beach trip

Came to the area as repeat visitors looking for a calm beach trip with some playing on the beach and combing for shells and fossils. Been to the area before but first time staying at this property. Family had a great time. house was tidy and well supplied with kitchen gear, beach supplies, and linens/bathroom necessities. Beach is walkable but wouldn’t recommend with kids. Quick and easy drive and parking situation. Beach area is somewhat limited, think long and skinny. Family had a great time, other than wanting a bigger bed, it was a fantastic trip!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chris' Beach House. It is a quiet, comfortable, easy walk to the Chesapeake Bay beach. The house is fully provisioned for the comfort of its guests, complete with a beach / bay theme. We had everything we needed and wanted for nothing. Our Hostess, Chris was thoughtful, available, but never intrusive. Would absolutely love to return!

Lovely house, short walk to beach!

Beautifully decorated house with all the amenities! Seriously, a lot of thought and consideration by the owner for the renters here. Plenty of towels, sheets, pillows, beach supplies (chairs/towels), a fully stocked kitchen, laundry and dryer with a couple tide pods and dryer sheets. Condiments in the fridge, variety of toiletries if you’ve forgot your own. Not far from town and attractions either. If you heading here to search for shark teeth and fossils highly recommend a tour with chaptours.org. They’re literally 2 mins from the house and super friendly and educational. Would love to stay again!

Beach cottage Anniversary stay

Chris was fantastic communicating. The place is well equipped with much attention to detail. We were greeting with the smell of Fall in the house and anniversary wish. Lots of supplies there to get you started if you forgot something. We believe in leaving no trace, although there may have been a pup nose print at the door. 😉. Very much enjoyed the quiet getaway and the bay is very close. Thanks so much!

Great location and private beach access

Chris was very responsive and answered all questions/concerns quickly. The house was in a great location. I totally understand the cleaning fee and additional dog fee, however my husband and I are very attentive and clean people so it was a bit expensive for us. We did have to buy toilet paper and paper towels as there wasnt any more (we were there 5days) We did not have a problem with that as Chris had lots of other things supplied. My hubby and I did see a few things that could have been cleaner or cleaned more thoroughly. It was not by any means filthy or gross. We really enjoyed being in the house and having acess to Calvert Beach. We would definitely stay again.

Could have been better

not sure how this actual property is cause i got a call from the host a week b4 i was supposed to be there and there was another family there cause they lost there home in hurricane so i agreed to switch houses the house i stayed in had been empty for quit some time it had musty abandoned smell to it there was molded food in the fridge dirty dishes in cabniet was not aloud to use fire place couldnt turn heat above 68 was defentily cold in there was just diapponted i got no money back or anything for the switch i didnt say anything about all that but then the host charged me 50 dollars for a parking pass that acidentilly got left in our car i mailed it back and im still waiting on refund

Cozy beach retreat

Great place for a girlfriends retreat! Wonderful location,! Just a short drive or walk to the private beach area, where on most days we had the beach to ourselves. Chris was a great hostess and met us when we got there to go over things. She also made herself available if we had questions during our stay. We’ve stayed at several other houses in st Leonard but we’ve never had the convenience of the owner providing all the linens, bath towels and toiletries as well as beach chairs , umbrella, cooler and wagon to haul everything. It saved us so much room in the car and time not having to worry with packing all the extra stuff. More like the convenience of a hotel with a cozy home atmosphere. Everything was very clean and fresh! Neighborhood was nice and quiet and we enjoyed sitting on the deck relaxing. The yard was nicely landscaped and the driveway was in close proximity to the house for carrying luggage in and out. There were 3 of us , so We each had our own bedroom. Even though there was only one bathroom, the sink area is separated from the bathroom area where the tub and toilet are. This made it nice for us to get ready when we were going out. One person can be showering while the other one is doing their hair and makeup. Our time there was just perfect! We will definitely look forward to staying there again! St Leonard and Chris’ little cottage are a great combination for a cozy and quiet beach retreat!! Judy
