Bedrooms 3
Space 1,500 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

Air conditioning-3 bedrooms-sleeps 6-2full baths& outside shower.

This is an inviting and affordable home with air-conditioning. As you see from the pictures the sun is welcomed through many sliders and windows. Inside the furnishings are simple but well chosen . The kitchen is fully equipped. The merged living/dining room with hardwood floors has a cathedral ceiling with overhead fans. Also downstairs there is a full bath, washer/dryer, and two bedrooms each offering a pair of twins. Upstairs there is a bedroom with a king size bed and a slider to a small balcony.

This Edgartown contemporary is a good find: located near the bike path, on a private road with only a dozen other homes. A third of a mile from shopping, a mile or so to the village center and a mile to miles of beach on the Vineyard's north coast. Outside there is new wrap around deck and another larger deck on the south side totaling 600 sq ft. There are sufficient trees to afford privacy but not to block the sun. 215-262-1125

About Lorraine (Call for details & questions or discussion)

My husband, Larry, and I live in eastern Pennsylvania. We have three grown children and six grandchildren. I work as a nurse and Larry is semi-retired from a career in graphic arts.

We have vacationed many times in New England, actually lived in south central Massachusetts for a year, but first visited the vineyard in 1986.

Lorraine (Call for details & questions or discussion) purchased this house in 1991

Why Lorraine (Call for details & questions or discussion) chose Edgartown

The first couple of times we came to the vineyard we stayed at the Governor Bradford Inn, now known as the Hob Knob Inn. It was much more reasonable then, before Sir Paul McCartney stayed there and up went the prices. We then chose a home to rent on Prices Way were the family had several years of fun.

We decided we'd look for a home to buy. We saw many many houses, but nothing was just right. One day Larry was reading the Gazette (that we got at home in PA) when he saw that a house on Prices Way was up for sale. We went up to the island two days later and to make a long story short we purchased it. It was perfect.

Why this property? It is a dirt road with 13 other homes and the bike path at the end of the road. It is close to town, without the hustle and bustle, and you would never know that being at the house. It's hard to say we fell in love with the road, pot holes and all, but just the feel of the area was something we knew we wanted and we could have happy times there.

We didn't always offer the house to renters, but wanting to continually improve the house to keep it fresh and relevant, renting was prudent.

What makes this house unique

Unique benefits, I don't know, but simple, clean and family friendly is what it is.

I always love it when renters come for the first time and discover the magic of the vineyard. It's a place like no other.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I stoped at the house, the family renting said they were so very pleased with the house, its cleanliness, its maintenance and furnishings. They said it was the nicest home they had ever rented.

Clean and airy feel

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for our family. The location was convenient to all areas, but the setting was private. It was kept up to date and with air conditioning. The owners responded to any issues promptly.

Can't wait to come back!

It Feels Like Our Second Home!

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to the Price's way home for several summers now and absolutely love it. The house is a short way down a dirt road, right outside of Edgartown. In fact you can walk from that dirt road through a path to Morning Glory Farm, which we often do in the morning. As for the house itself, it is just what we like. It is open and airy. The deck is great for barbecuing and sitting out in the evening. We keep MVY radio playing on the great sound system, providing delightful music as our vacation soundtrack. The AC cools the place quickly when needed, and makes for easy sleeping. All at a price that works for us. What is not to like! We think it's great and can't wait to be back next summer!

Fantastic house in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Each August for 10 years we have returned to this wonderful home for a week of solitude and beauty. It is a modernized, bright, lovely house on a quiet street 300 yards from a bike/walk/jogging path, 2 miles from Edgartown and less than a mile from Whole Foods, great shops, and restaurants. Take a walk, pick up your steaks or lobsters, walk home, and cook them on the big, terrific back deck. In our opinion, this is the best location on the island.

Price's Way

  • 5 of 5

The house was just right for our family of 5 (parents, 2 adult children and one teenager). Location was very convenient to Edgartown and pleasantly bikeable to beaches, Vineyard Haven and up-island. The property was well maintained. The owners were accessible and provided answers to our questions. While we were out and about during the day, the house was comfortable for making dinner in (which we did most evenings) and playing games, reading books, or watching movies in the evening. We loved the MV Book Festival, Aquinnah and Chappy beaches, yoga on the beach, Farmers Market and Crafts Fair in W Tisbury and poking around Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs.
