Located 33 miles south from Kailua-Kona, and just 63 miles to the Volcano National Park.
Approximately 1-1/2 hours drive south from the Kona International Airport.
We are equi-distant between many popular tourist sites located on the Kona Coast side of the Big Island, i.e Kealakekua Bay, Place of Refuge, Kahalu'u Black Sands Beach Park, Honomolino Bay, Punalu'u Black Sands Beach Park, Green Sands Beach, to name a few.
The last fishing village in Hawaii is just a 10 minute drive within the Milolii Beach Lots subdivision, where a trail leading to a coconut tree lined black sand beach (Honomolino), offers fantastic snorkeling.
The village has a County boat ramp and camp grounds, and offers easy access for kayaking and deep sea fishing.
This unique beach house offers Wireless Broadband and a TV on each level.
FYI, there is no A/C available in the house. Please enjoy the balmy ocean breezes that keep this house at a very comfortable temperature.
For your convenience and comfort, this house has marble tile throughout. You have 2 floors for your enjoyment, with cooking facilities on both floors. Each floor has a separate entrance with a spacious lanai. Each floor sleeps up to 4 guests. Reserve the whole house for large groups. When you retire in the evening, you have privacy. This floor plan allows privacy for couples, singles and extended family. Rates posted do not reflect holiday bookings.
115 strides to the oceanfront, you can enter the water right below the house, for snorkeling. Enjoy the crystal clear waters. Be careful for the lava rock shoreline. Please use the rope hand railing to enter the water.
IF YOU WANT TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL....THIS IS THE PLACE!
You have 2 tandem kayaks for your enjoyment, plus snorkeling gear supplied. The snorkeling is excellent. The fishing here is some of the best in Hawaii.
Humpback Whale season is Dec.-March. You WILL see the whales during the day. You WILL hear the whales during the night.
Occasionally the Spinner Dolphins will say 'hello' to you as they pass by.
You have a spectacular view from every lanai; and a lovely breeze. Lots of windows and sliding doors allow you to view the ocean from nearly every room in the house.

We stayed one week and saw whales almost everyday. Loved going to sleep each night with the doors and windows open and to the sound of the surf. The upper unit was clean and well supplied. We cooked several meals and found available what we needed. Highly recommend the rental.
Served our needs perfectly!
Only two of us, but ended up staying in both units. Top was marvelously breezy and being close enough to the ocean to hear it while you slept or hung out was awesome. Bottom unit was huge and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking.
Rented whole house end of Feb 2016
Just writing this to help future renters - the additional info certainly would've been helpful to know before hand for me and my friends:
sleeps 7 comfortably
Walking distance to the water's edge (no sand, just rocks)
Fridges/ stoves on each floor
Bathrooms on each floor
Lots of towels/ linens
Closet space and drawers
Large dining room table on first floor level
Automatic exterior entrance lights
Huge patio and great Views
No water pressure. Only one faucet can be used at a time or you completely lose water pressure (includes kitchen sink, bathroom sink, showers, washer)
Dishes not microwavable safe OR dishwasher safe.
Dishwasher not connected to water line - cant use. Must hand wash everything :(
Screen doors difficult to slide/ prevent from coming off the tracks.
No grill brush provided (contradicts description) - part of our security deposit was retained since we couldn't clean the grill properly.
Tiny ants in the kitchens (esp near the windows).
All the ocean noise! Hard to sleep unless windows are closed (then its too hot).
Was there in Feb and did not see or hear any whales (contradicts description) although we tried!
Did not use the kayaks although they were available and looked to be in good shape.
Another thing to note is that unlike in past VRBO rentals, there is nothing in the pantry but salt and pepper. Had to buy additional cleaning supplies such as garbage bags/ laundry detergent which are usually included.
Also, not to seem nit-picky, but the description of the house says that it is PINK - there is only a very small portion of the exterior painted a pale pink... this only matters in locating the house since not all the houses in the area have numbers.
Overall good place if you are spending more time exploring the island than at home.
We appreciated your pros regarding this property. However, we wish to address the cons: House sleeps 8 comfortably, upper level dinnerware is micro/dishwasher safe; lower dinnerware is dishwasher safe only (use paper plates for micro); Teflon sponges are supplied for Geo. Foreman Electric grills which are located upper as well as lower levels of house; coffee filters, plastic wrap, tin foil, paper toweling, toilet tissue, dish detergent, dishwasher detergent, bath bar soaps, liquid hand soaps, and three sizes of garbage bags from 32 gals. - 10 gals. (bags in garage/shed by garbage cans) all supplied for guests. Guests supply their own personal laundry detergent. Milolii households are on individual water catchment systems. Pressure tank regulates the water pressure when in use. Guests need to conserve on their water consumption. Portable dishwasher, located on lower level has its separate hot water faucet coupling connection at kitchen sink. Lastly, whale season runs from Dec. to March. This winter (2015/2016), the whales where spotted farther out, but still could be heard at night. Yes, this is waterfront property you selected. You will hear the sound of the ocean. Please enjoy the balmy breezes especially during the winter season. Thank You.
Three of us stayed on the lower floor and had a wonderful time. I really can't think of anything that would have improved our stay. There is a well-equipped kitchen that we loved and the little touches were great too (like fluffy towels - you seem to never get those in a hotel). We particularly liked the little cove below the house for snorkelling. The beach in Honomalino was great too.
We also appreciated the contrast between this house and the 'resort' we stayed at the following week in Honolulu. This beach house was a little bit of paradise. The place in Waikiki was a bit like the strip in Vegas.
We will be visiting again. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.
Thanks for a great holiday.
Peace and tranquility
We stayed here for a week in January 2014 and found the place to be like "home". It is well equipped, spacious and cosy at the same time. It is very quiet and has spectacular views of the coast line. The bed was very comfortable with a view of the stars! Lots of windows and a large deck make you feel outside all the time.
A great place to Get Away!
We had a very peaceful week at Milolii Beach House during Christmas 2013. There were just two of us with the whole house rented because at the last minute our traveling mates were unable to join us. We were so glad when we arrived that we had access to the upper lanai. It is huge and comes complete with a dining area, lounge chairs and even a Queen size bed (with mosquito netting) for reading or resting during the day, or for sleeping under the stars at night. The views are truly stunning. We weren't able to partake in any water sports the week we were there as the ocean was wild with record high waves and tropical turbulence but that in itself was something amazing to experience and view from this property. We will return to stay at this wonderful Beach House and use the kayaks and snorkelling gear that the hosts provide for their guests use.
Thanks for a much needed and most restorative week in paradise!
Milolii is known throughtout the islands for its deep sea fishing, and clear waters. The 'last fishing village' in Hawaii is just a 10 minute drive within the Milolii Beach Lots subdivision, where a secret trail leading to a coconut beach (Honomalino) offers fantastic snorkeling. The village has a County boat ramp and camp grounds, and offers easy access for kayaking and deep sea fishing. Milolii offers some of the most undeveloped stretches of coastline on the Big Island, with secret beaches to explore. Seasonal whale watching and Spinner Dolphins. As many as 10,000 Humpback Whales visit the Hawaiian waters annually from November through May. These endangered mammals enjoy the state's warm waters in the winter to breed, give birth and nurse their young. Spectacular sunsets can be viewed directly from the beachhouse. Have your camera ready! Milolii...'where the sun meets the sea' and everyone says hello!
