We stayed at this home for the 4th of July with my mom, kids and dog. The home accommodated us well, and we were able to easily travel from the lower portion of the mountain for activities and meals, and back again. We even saw a bear cub foraging for berries in the neighbor's tree! Overall, it was a great place to stay. We enjoyed the neighborhood amenities, including pool, paddleboards, mini golf and restaurants. We wished we had rented a boat for one day, as the lake was quite warm and mucky near the beach. My daughter and I caught fireflies in the yard. If it hadn't been so hot, we would have enjoyed the deck and made s'mores! On that topic, we had unprecedented heat during our stay and the air conditioning couldn't keep up during the day. We closed the blinds, turned on fans and did everything we could to support the system, but it was almost 100 degrees out every day and it stayed warm inside. I think this was an unusual challenge, given the extreme summer temperature, and hesitated to even mention this! The owner was very communicative, welcoming and helpful. I appreciated her offers of advice for things to do in the local area. Perks: Location with amenities, view, spaciousness, washer/dryer, kitchen, cleanliness.Downsides: Struggling air conditioning (again, unusual heat!), no towels upstairs (we had enough to share from the downstairs bath), kitchen a bit unorganized and had no sponges for dishes, and the downstairs lighting was a bit challenging.
