Hi, my name is Dorothy and i live in Coral Springs Fla.
The Owner purchased this house in 2006
My family and I have been visiting Chimney Rock and the Blue Rige mountains for 10 years. We loved it so much we just had to look for a vacation property. The Blue Rige Mountains has so much to offer for the entire family. This property had everything we wanted in a vacation home. The many balconies and windows is a perfect back drop for photos and spectacular night scenes with thousands of stars !
My children just love the new addition of the large gameroom. We just put in a new pool table and poker table downstairs. All the rocking chairs off the balconies make it perfect way to end your day. The fire place is a great way to spend cool nights together. We have a large yard for playing ball and picnics. The upsatairs bathroom is new with fossil tile and a jetted bathtub and a private balcony off the kids camp room.
Great Family Vacation ,My husband, myself and our four kids had a GREAT time on our first trip to Chimney Rock. Home is great for kids and families, the gameroom with the pool table was a huge success with the entire family. The house is centrally located to Ashville, Hendersonville,Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Great place for a relaxing vacation!
This rental was perfect for our after Christmas vacation. The home was exactly what we needed for visiting family - charming, clean, and accommodating. The grandchildren loved the downstairs where they played air hockey. Movies were available for night time entertainment. Convenient to downtown Hendersonville and about 20-25 minutes from the city of Asheville. The owner, Dorothy was easy to reach for any questions that we had and made our trip from Indiana easy. Will definitely consider staying here again. Thanks again Dorothy.
The home was warm and inviting. The town was quite charming and we enjoyed visiting both. Dorothy, the owner was very responsive and easy to work with- even getting her brother out on Christmas Eve to check the dishwasher. The drive is quite steep however, we were expecting that- it is the mountains after all. There is a bit of a gravel ridge entering the driveway where we scraped up the undercarriage of the both cars. I'd like to see that leveled out on the next visit. Having said that, we'd definitely visit again.
My family and I chose to spend a weekend in the mountains instead of just a day like we had done in the past. We are so thankful we found this home! Everything was super nice and the kids (grown and child lol) loved the game room! We had plenty of board games to choose from along with the air hockey table and the billiard table downstairs. We decided playing Scrabble was going to be a tradition! The home was convenient to the apple farms (which are on the main road coming off of the interstate to the house), Hendersonville (where we shopped and ate dinner), to Starbucks!!, and to several antique malls. We accidentally took one set of the keys to the house with us and the owner was super sweet about it. She generously allowed us to mail them back instead of taking it out of our deposit. Dorothy was so very easy to communicate with and she kept us updated on everything nicely talking with us on the phone several times before our arrival. One of the highlights of the home was waking up on Sunday morning and listening to the church bells play with the colored leaves in the background! This is a house you must rent!
The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. The house was better than what you see in the pictures.
It is rustic and quaint, and very clean. We spent several days their with our family of seven, and had plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen and bathrooms were recently remodeled and the furniture was clean. Several months later our children are still talking about our stay and the converted basement into a game room. I highly recommend this place for a family with young children. The owners have gone well beyond their duty in making sure that the children had plenty of things to play with. Of note, there is only one parking spot and it favors an SUV due to the steep slope. Otherwise, it's close proximity to Asheville, Chimney Rock, and Lake Lure makes it an ideal place to stay.
Great time with family! Clean, comfortable and everything we needed! Great location! Game room big hit with the kids! Definitely would stay again!
What a wonderful house!!! Slept my husband, 3 children and parents perfectly!!! Jogging distance to a little downtown area! Within 30 mins to zip lining, white water rafting, chimney rock and mining. House fully stocked including game room with air hockey and pool table for family night tournaments!! Defiantly will revisit!
The largest granite fissure is located here in Bat Cave. Make a reservation to see the Indiana Bat Habitat.Take the kids to the Chimney Rock Gem Mine, where they can pan for their own gems. The elevator ride up the mountain is a great expierence for everyone. The panoramic views are phenominal.
