This home has roots back to the early 1930's when the area was much more secluded. The 3,400 square foot home was fully remodled in 2007 and provides vacationers with an inviting and festive interior. The large front deck is over 600 square feet with a covered area for those looking for some shade on the hot summer days. Generous front and rear lawn areas provide excellent space for outdoor fun, including a campfire ring. This home features 80' of lake frontage, grass lake frontage and shared boat dock for guest use. A 10 minute walk to downtown Silver Lake area. Come stay with us at your home away from home.

Great place

Excellent location, very nice kitchen, great porches front and rear, very well stocked with basic needs, property owner very nice, plenty of parking. If you’re there to enjoy the dunes or the lake it’s a great place.

Silver Lake Fun

The family really enjoyed our time at Silver Lake - from the dune rides to the jet skis the family had a great time. Mark met us on our arrival and was able to point us the right direction for a week of rest and relaxation.

Best of all worlds!!

Our family has stayed in several places in Silver Lake over the past 30 years. This was by far the most beautiful view from inside and out. We will definitely being staying here again! Loved it!

Exceptional!

Mark’s home is exactly what we were looking for. Beautifully updated. Tons of seating. Beautiful outdoor space and the views of the lake breathtaking. We rent a VRBO every summer in Michigan. I can honestly say this one was the best!! The home has ABSOLUTELY everything you could need. The A/C worked great on days we needed it. Otherwise there are plenty of windows for fresh air. Lovely!! The beds were super comfy. The layout worked perfectly with the large open area around the kitchen AND an additional huge family room. We thought the 2 bathrooms might be an issue but honestly it never was. The way the main floor bathroom is set up, the shower is doored off and has enough room to change and mirrors to get ready! Mark you have outdone yourself. Although you are booked for our dates next year, I’m certain we will be back. Thank you for sharing your home with us!!

Large house with great front porch

This is our second time to this property. Unlike some rentals the kitchen is stocked with plenty of garbage bags, soap, etc. The bathrooms have soap, shampoo and conditioner which is so nice! There are plenty of chairs at the cottage for around the fire and the front porch, bikes, marshmallow roasters, pizza pies, etc. One of the upstairs bedroom(not the bunk room) gets very warm even with the air conditioning on. This probably isn't usually a problem but we had a couple hot and humid days! I love that the sheets aren't on the bed when you arrive because then you know they are clean! Great stay with lots of room!

Location was great! We enjoyed the big front porch and yard for games. Communication was great!

We very much enjoyed staying there! Twin beds upstairs were not that comfortable for adults. Could use a large frying pan. We would highly recommend this place.

THE LIVING AREA

The kitchen and porch is where it's at!!! We had a great time in this home. Mark was the beat host anyone could ask for. The only downfall is this homeb is not handicapped accessible. We plan on being back to this house.

Family Vacation

Everything was a good as expected. Few hiccups with the internet nothing the owner could control. But we stayed busy with everything Silver Lake had to offer so it wasn’t a big inconvenience. Boating, fishing, sand dunes and sunsets!!!!! Perfect week.

Great place!

We spent this past week at this property, and it did not disappoint! The house was a great size for our family with plenty of room to move around. There’s plenty of places to explore around the area. The water was perfect and the dock was a great bonus. Mark was very attentive and quick to respond when we needed him! Thank you again for allowing us to enjoy your home!

Hated to leave!!

My husband and I and our adult children and our granddaughter stayed for a beautiful weekend August. The view is breathtaking out the front windows!! Plenty of room a beautiful backyard with a fire pit and room to play games! We enjoyed the dunes Lake Michigan and Silver Lake so much!!.. Mark is a very good host! Communication and check in and check out was perfect!! Time flew and before we knew it we had to go.. that was the only bummer!

Great views

This home was everything that the website stated. The owner super nice and helpful. Everything needed for home away from home. The sunsets were amazing. We took our pontoon and we’re able to travel easily around the lake and to the dunes.

Wonderful family vacation

We have been going to this cottage long before it was part of the VBRO family. This property is ideal for a big group. Lots of living area, so if the weather is bad, you can spread out. Also a nice kitchen and counter bar to seat at least 10. In fact that is where the 7 kids ate most if the time. Comfortable beds and the view is spectacular!

This was our second year staying in this beautiful home. What can I say that I didn't last year? The location is perfect in every way! The home is beautiful and spacious inside and out! And communication with Mark was smooth as could be. He was always quick to answer any concerns that I had. The only thing I can even think to critique would be the lake access. For people with families, in particular young children, there really isn't an easy way into the lake. Having steps off the dock would definitely be the magic key. However, there are also a few beach options nearby, so the lack of entry is a tradeoff for all the other amazing things that this home has to offer. My family and I are already counting down the days until we return next year!

Perfect for Lake and Dunes

6 adults and 5 children ages 3-8. Had no idea what to expect of the property or the area going in. We had a blast. The house is right on the lake (across a street). Plenty big enough for us. The 4-8 year olds loved the upstairs loft / sleeping area! The kitchen is quite large and stocked with everything needed. The gas grill was a hit for us. We hung 100% in the front (lake side of the house). We moved the picnic table to the front deck. Played cornhole, football, Frisbee, etc. etc. We rented a boat and docked it to the pier - perfect. We rode bikes to the pedestrian dune access multiple times. We boated to the dune side of the lake multiple times. The lake is total sand bottom and super shallow. The kids loved it! The owner was very responsive and friendly the entire process. A few suggestions...... Could uses a ladder to get out of the water on to the dock. Could use 1 more bathroom but we managed Could use fire pit out front but we made quick friends with the neighbors and they invited us to their fire a few nights.

Unbelievable Lake Views And Fantastic Kitchen

Outstanding! Even better than advertised. Great location to all recreational areas. The views of the dunes across the lake were spectacular and were available from just about everywhere in the house, as the entire front of the house features large windows. The kitchen and dining area are large and up to 18 people can dine and enjoy the magnificent view. The 6 burner gas stove was also an appreciated feature. The property was well stocked from the kitchen to the bathrooms. There were even bicycles and sand boards (the kids had a blast on these) and the yard was large enough for just about any outdoor activity or game. There were 13 of us including 2 infants and there was plenty of space. It was a wonderful experience and the host was fantastic. We are planning a return visit.

Perfect location at Silver Lake

We had our two children's families stay with us. The oldest grandkid is 8 and he said on a scale of 1 - 10 it was 100. Everyone voted to come back. We brought a pontoon and parked at the dock. Craig's Cruisers was nearby and lots of fun with many ice cream places. We ventured to the dunes every day. Lewis Farm was loads of fun for everyone in the family. The wrap around porch was awesome for eating outside and enjoying the view.

Our family has owned this property since 1992. We have rented the home by referrals since we acquired the property. We have enjoyed sharing our home with many families over the years and always look forward to meeting new families. We typically block a couple of weeks each summer to enjoy the lake and dunes ourselves. Our main home is 80 miles away in Belmont Michigan, near Grand Rapids. We enjoy boating and spending time on the beach at the sand dunes.

When we remodeled in 2007, our focus was on the kitchen and outdoor porch/decks. We all know that the party and socializing always ends up in the kitchen. So, that is why you will find a large, sweeping, bar stool height countertop that seats 10. Additionally, a large table for 8 will seat all of the guests for a great dinner.

The porch/deck areas were another priority. Spending our time outdoors, rain or shine, was important to us. We love watching the people and cars go by, as well as looking out over the lake and across to the sand dunes. The sunsets are amazing anytime of year, watching the sun drop below the sand dunes.

We stock the house the same for your enjoyment as we do for our own. Bring the basics, we have you covered.
