Hodnett Cooper presents this classic beach cottage located just steps from the beach (0.13 miles). This single level home features four bedrooms and two bathrooms and is the epitome of a classic older beach house with beautiful refinished original wood floors in most of the house and all others are hard surface of tile or laminate. The large living/dining area provides a great open space for family gatherings. The kitchen was totally remodeled in 2019 and includes an eat in breakfast nook. In 2019 and into 2020 the entire home has been updated with fresh paint, window treatments, new bedding, lots of new furnishings, refurbished porch, exterior painting, all new appliances including washer and dryer. So cute!

The King bedroom has an additional alcove area complete with another 2 twin beds-perfect for keeping an eye on the younger ones!

The glassed in sunroom is another classic with the original jalousie style windows. A great spot to relax or read a book!

The location is ideal with the beach is just steps away in front of the King and Prince Hotel. Multiple restaurants are within walking distance to include Crab Trap, Crab Daddy’s, Echo(oceanfront dining at King and Prince) and Beachcomber Bar-B-Que. Bike rentals are right next door!

Amazing cottage

We loved everything about this place! The location is perfect with just a quick walk to the beach. So close to coffee shops and food. Fantastic spot!!

overall pleasant stay

Overall good, some small maintenance issues ( loose doorknobs and such) but there was some excessive leaf blowing going on everyday.

Family Christmas

Very nice house for our gathering of two families. Would suggest a curtain to hang across alcove in king room. Need more dish towels, potholders and wash clothes. Quiet (in winter) and close to beach, restaurants, bike shop and stores.

The cottage was the perfect blend of modern convivences and antique charm. Location was close to the beach and walking distant to excellent restaurants. Our family had and excellent weekend trip planning an island wedding..

Location ideal with a short walk to the beach and 5 good restaurants. You can even walk to center if town, about 20 min or a short car ride for more eats including ice cream. Recommend Moo Cow for ice cream and try the crab chowder at Fiddlers and the BBQ at Southern Soul to name but a few. Would stay here again in a heartbeat

Great Location.

The sunroom could have used some cleaning, otherwise the house was clean. A few mechanical problems with bathrooms and the kitchen which we were able to live with. Loved being able to walk a few short minutes to the beach.

Great location, great house. Close to it all. Thought a grill would’ve been beneficial (we didn’t see one). Called about an issue with the outside shower on the first day and no one ever showed up- my husband fixed it. Would definitely recommend this rental!

Great trip and highly recommend

Our first time staying on St. Simmons. Property is as described. Plenty of room, great porch, nice remodeled kitchen. We had awesome weather and a short, easy walk - 4 minutes or so - to the beach. Easy 2-4 minute walk to 5 good restaurants. A small coffee and ice cream shop is about a 1 minute walk from property on the way to the beach. There is a fair amount of pedestrian use of the road that fronts the house but no issues with that. Activity was more noticeable on the weekends. The property was great and easy walks to restaurants a real plus. If have the opportunity, would definitely stay again.

Great Location

Spent Easter at this property and it was perfect for our family. It was extremely clean when we arrived. Easy walk to the beach and good food nearby. The street does get quite a bit of foot traffic but it quiets down early enough in the evening that it is not a bother.

Comfortable and convenient

The house is precious. The furnishings are comfortable. The floorplan allows guests to gather and still have privacy. The king room with adjoining space for twin beds was perfect for our grandchildren. The porch was great for coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon, and we could walk to nice restaurants. Made for a delightful long weekend.

318 Arnold Rd - Nice & Close

The property sits just off the main road just outside of the King and Prince Resort complex. It's an older, yet eclectic, beach cottage/bungalow that’s been newly remodeled. There are 4 spots to park (one that's covered). There's a good amount of space inside the rental, with a large kitchen area for cooking w/4 seat table, dining table that sits about 8-10 depending, a den that sits just off of the dining area, and 4 bedrooms (w/King, 2 Queens & 2 twins). There is an odd, extra (5th?) bedroom that's part of the master bedroom, and it also has 2 more twin beds, but there's no door to separate it from the master bed area. I assume it could be used as an additional space for small children to sleep in the room with the parents. It has 2 bathrooms (one smaller than the other), but both adequate. The inside of the home—viewing it online—seemed small, but it's deceiving because of the chopped-up, older home's area. Lots of unique art hang throughout the home (which could be perceived as good or bad depending on tastes). There is a screened-in porch that sits off the den that has crank-out, Florida-style windows and sits 5 people, but it was very warm to sit in during the day. We couldn’t get the ceiling fan to work, so we used that area in the early mornings and later evenings. I was skeptical about renting the property from driving it on Google Maps—pre-stay—because of where it sits. I thought it might be trouble. I knew that there would be a good amount of foot and car traffic that passed by the house daily, and the beach seemed a bit far. But, my concerns were not an issue (we were there pre-July 4). People do walk by the house, but those who did were pleasant and friendly. And the fact that the rental sits 1 house off of the main drag turned out to be real nice. It puts you within a block’s walking distance to several great restaurants, shops, and the 5-minute (brisk) trek to the ocean. Your access to the beach is just beside the King and Prince and easy, so you know it's prime beachfront property. You can’t see the beach from the house though—or hear the waves well—but the proximity to the beach was definitely a plus and helped. The property doesn't have a lot of room outside for smaller kids to play, but there is a side street that would be safe to ride bikes or toss a ball. We had 7 adults stay comfortably in this rental, and the home did not hinder our having a good time. I would stay in this rental again! Nice & close to why you're there!

Cute House

This location was absolutely perfect! Our family enjoyed an awesome weekend together. We walked to the Cottage every morning for coffee, and to the beach for a walk. We would definitely stay here again.

Checks all the boxes

My husband and I spent spring break with six teenagers, and this house checked all the boxes. They had their space; we had ours. Excellent location, a short walk to restaurants and the beach. The house was immaculate and well maintained. We had a couple of weird maintenance issues at the very end of our stay, but I’m sure they were addressed promptly. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location and good for a family

Stayed here during an unfortunate cold snap, so proximity to the beach was nice but not as important. Close to bike rentals and good food made a big difference. The porch room is awesome for hanging out once the kids were in bed. Very close walk to a nice beach and you could rent chairs/umbrella from the hotel there for $35/d. Overall a good value and god setup for family with young kids.

Great home and location

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this home. It is very roomy and very clean. We intend on renting this home again in the future. They have everything you can possibly need there. Beautiful home and we were certainly happy there with our children and grandchildren.

Location is the greatest!

Our group enjoyed our weekend stay - the house is convenient to everything on SSI. We appreciate the friendliness of the property managers and their ability to let us check-in after hours. The house was lovely - everything promised in the description. We plan to stay here again in the future!

Enjoyable Vacation Cottage

Everything was just like on the website. A nice old cottage. Very comfortable beds. Very close distance to the beach. Plenty of room for our family of 9. There wasn’t one item we needed that wasn’t there. We love St Simons Island and the rental agency was the best

Amazing place

We had a great time on SSI. The location of the house to the beach and the shops was great. We had a wonderful time and we will be back again. The kitchen was freshly remodeled and updated it is beautiful.
