Overview

About the property

Escape to a Gorgeous Waterfront Whidbey Island Home with Stunning Views.

The Soaring Eagle Lodge on Whidbey Island is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This spectacular waterfront home overlooks the Puget Sound, Mount Baker and the beautiful Cascade Mountain Range. Enjoy stunning views throughout the lodge and along our 300 feet of bluff frontage, with an adventure trail leading down to your own private beach.

Soaring Eagle Lodge is nestled on 2.7 acres of towering evergreen trees, 100 feet above the waters of Skagit Bay and the Puget Sound.

The home takes its name from the majestic bald eagles that soar along the water’s edge and Soaring Eagle Lodge is lucky to have a bald eagle nest right on the property. Bald eagle nests are the largest of any bird in North America and we have a clear view of our nest from the Great Room. We have had 10 successful chicks since the eagles first built their nest in 2004. They allowed the nest to rest for 3 years (from 2012 to 2015) and returned for the 2016 nesting season. Our eagle pair raised one chick last year, which hatched on May 7th and fledged in mid-August. We look forward to the prospect of a new chick (or two) this year!

Soaring Eagle Lodge caters to those who enjoy luxury accommodations and modern conveniences. From deluxe Sleep Number beds, cozy plush robes, heated bathroom floors, 3 fireplaces, a Weber Genesis gas grill and an outdoor jacuzzi hot tub – to a gourmet kitchen which will delight any chef, you will feel indulged throughout your stay.

Sit by a warm fire with a cup of tea or coffee and gaze out through our 24 ft wall of windows at the spectacular water and mountain views.

Whidbey Island and the surrounding area offers a wide range of activities, including golf, sailing, fishing, kayaking, whale watching, boat tours, horseback riding, bird watching, hiking, biking, shopping, farmer's markets and more. In addition, Whidbey Island is home to a number of excellent wineries, distilleries, breweries & tasting rooms and has many festivals & events throughout the year.

We are centrally located for day trips to Port Townsend, Anacortes, Langley, Coupeville, La Connor, the San Juan Islands and Victoria BC. In addition, we are only 90 miles from both Seattle and Vancouver BC in Canada. However you choose to spend your time, you will feel rested and relaxed after your visit to Soaring Eagle Lodge.

Whidbey was identified as one of the 5 best places on the planet to visit by the New York Times “T Magazine” and Life Magazine voted Whidbey as one of the top 100 places in the world to visit.

We do not allow weddings, parties, graduations, receptions or any similar kind of event. The maximum number of guests allowed in the home or on the property is limited to 8 registered guests at any time.

We are selective about who we rent our home to and enjoy getting to know our guests prior to booking. If you make an inquiry, please share a little about yourself and your background, about the the guests in your group, and what brings you to our beautiful Whidbey Island.

PNW PARADISE!!!

  • 5 of 5

The owner really thought everything through to make our trip hassle free. The home itself is spectacular! Can not ever explain the views all we can say is majestic! Everything was provided for us and anything we had questions about; there were signs posted to help remind us i.e garbage day, fire instructions, grill instructions, etc... the owner also displayed "fairy houses/communities" around the lawn and down by the beach.

Our children LOVED finding them throughout the day. They (2 four year olds, and a two year old) had to make sure the fairies were doing well each morning, when we arrived back at the lodge, and before bed! They really enjoyed that! Excellent touch, that you do NOT get just anywhere. Us adults enjoyed a fire,, cocktails, and amazing views every night and throughout the day (when here) with immaculate amenities! Everything from the kitchenware to the toilets were pristine, and the sleep number beds made for an excellent sleep. We cannot rave about this place enough, so if you are trying to decide between this lodge and a few others we HIGHLY RECOMMEND you and your family enjoying the "soaring eagle lodge." The adventures are endless and the experience is life changing! Cheers from "The Fralick's!"

Owner's Response: Ryan and the Fralik Family, Thank you for the amazing review. It was fun getting to know you via text and email prior to your visit and because you guys were so excited with anticipation about your visit to Soaring Eagle Lodge, I was really excited for you! I'm really happy to hear your experience was everything you had hoped it would be. I'm especially happy to know your kids got a kick out of the fairy doors and ladders, benches and sign posts. It was a lot of fun choosing locations in the yard and on the adventure trail leading down to the beach, and setting everything up. We were hoping kids would find them and imagine all kinds of secret & fun goings on in the nooks and crannies around the Soaring Eagle Lodge. And it sounds like they did! Have a great summer and we hope to have you back again. Best regards, Ned

The perfect get away lodge

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a week at the Soaring Eagle Lodge with our family, 6 adults and 2 babies (2 yrs old and 5 mos old). It's very private and beautifully landscaped. The lodge itself lacks for nothing. The attention to detail was remarkable. We witnessed nature at it's best with 2 eagles in their nest, deer meandering through the backyard, birds singing all day, bunnies literally romping around and a raccoon who just had to check us out.

The inside of the lodge is so spacious and it offers places if you want to just read or get away for quiet time and still be near everyone. We had fun exploring Whidbey Island and enjoyed our first ferry trip to Port Townsend for lunch. The Kangaroo Farm in Arlington, WA is a must see too.

I wish there were a higher rating than "5" because Ned and Lam have really made their place into a lifetime of memories for all of us.

A side note...a detail people have commented on were the fairiy glitter and furniture hidden throughout the property and down to the private beach being enjoyed by their kids. Our 2 yr old had more fun looking for bugs so the adults are the ones who had all the fun with that wonderful detail.

A go to must!!!

Owner's Response: Bill & Debbie, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this fantastic review. We're so glad you and your family enjoyed the Lodge and went home with wonderful new memories. We work hard at the details, and it's great to know you noticed everything and enjoyed discovering the secret Faerie spots throughout the yard and on the adventure trail to the beach. We hope to have you back again! Ned

Amazing Property

  • 5 of 5

Loved our experience at Soaring Eagle, what a beautiful property. From the moment we drove up we were so impressed. The grounds are very well maintained and the views are spectacular. We saw an eagle within the first hour of our stay! The website descriptions of the property really are spot on. Upon entering the house the views continued to impress us and immediately we knew we were in a very clean, comfortable home, and would be in for an enjoyable stay. We love to cook and the kitchen is a dream. The owners have fully stocked the kitchen with dried spices, cookware, utensils, tools, you name it you can find it...what a treat! It is clean and there is so much space!! We were able to prepare meals and enjoy conversation with our friends as they relaxed in front of one of lodge's many fireplaces.

The sleep number bed in the master was very comfortable and an unexpected upgrade. Our guests who used the sleeper sofa were so impressed with it's comfort we contacted the owners to get info regarding the model - no uncomfortable support bar. Ned, one of the owners immediately responded and we thanked him for all of the thought that was put into making our experience so pleasant.

Our only regret is that we had such a short stay - we will most certainly be back and highly recommend Soaring Eagle.

Staying at the Soaring Eagle Lodge was fabulous. The lodge is well maintained and the owners are organized. Once I arrived on the property I was in awe of the beauty. I would stay here again.

For anyone who wants to relax, have a beautiful back drop of Mount Baker, and see eagles soaring above this is the place for you. You need to check out this jewel on Whidbey Island.
