Ask a questionAbout Melanie Cross
Melanie grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana which was originally owned by her great-grandmother. Melanie enjoys canning, gardening, knitting and working with the animals. She makes cheese from the Hog & Saw farm goats’ milk. When not on the farm, Melanie enjoys travelling and visiting her children and grandchildren who live abroad. While abroad both she and Andy enjoy staying at Vacation Rentals. Andy is an all around outdoorsman and talented finish carpenter. In his free time he makes his own bows and is an accomplished fly fisherman. You can see Andy’s work around Hog & Saw farm from the high tunnels in the garden to the handmade cabinets and countertops in the kitchen. Andy also designed and made a cider press so they can make cider from the apples in their orchard. He is interested in ecologically friendly living and he and Melanie are currently building a home with which utilizes eco-friendly innovations.
Why Melanie Cross chose Flathead County
Give your family an unforgettable Montanan farm experience with a stay at Hog & Saw Farm. Guests love meeting our animals and even taking part in milking the goats and collecting chicken eggs. A recent guest said - "Melanie was very kind to give us her time in introducing us to the animals and even setting up a time with us so the kids could give milking a try. The farm and animals are clean and well taken care of. It is clear that they put much care into their hospitality." Our properties are newly renovated and receive rave reviews for their cleanliness with guests commenting on them being 'spotlessly clean' and 'pristine'. The Barn is a great choice for a multi-family stay as it is spacious with great communal areas but the sleeping areas are spread over three floors, providing guests privacy. A recent guest said, "The layout was perfect - giving us both cozy private bedrooms and and a great open kitchen, dining, and comfy common area." You can also take full advantage of our beautiful views and evening sunsets with our large outdoor deck.
