Amazing and beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

It was absolutely beautiful both inside and out. We loved the view from the deck and the owners have thought of everything that guests could possibly need--even an insulated lunch carrier and ice packs for picnics. It was perfect for two couples with king beds both upstairs and down. We loved the added treat of picking fresh ripe blackberries for our breakfast and watching the deer do the same. We loved the location--convenient to outdoor activities including sea kayaking, biking and hiking. We rented bikes from a guy in Sidney that will deliver them to you and rode the bike trail. Our favorite activity by far was sitting on the gorgeous deck, eating dinner and just looking at the sunset. We would definitely recommend this to others. The owner was great to work with and made everything super easy. Property is very well maintained. Thank you so much--we would love to return one of these days.

Best Choice We Could Have Made (we looked at tons of places & are quite particular)!

  • 5 of 5

In preparing to celebrate our 50th Anniversary with our family, we looked at Europe, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and many other places in North America. When we narrowed it down to Vancouver Island, we looked at many more and are extremely glad we chose this unique place in the universe. This house became a comfortable home from the get go. From the inviting drive through the woods, through the front door that welcomed us to a spacious & sun-lit entry from which we could see through the windows to the ocean below, to the large & comfortable bedrooms & spa-like on-suite bathrooms, to the perfectly equipped kitchen & dining area, out onto the large deck with great seating & spectacular 180 degree vistas, and on down the steps through the garden on steroids with butterflies & hummingbirds, to the sea of delights along the beach combing shore, it was all truly marvelous.

We wish we had booked for two weeks instead of one. This home provided a great balance for out time together: we could buy fresh (as in live) seafood nearby, prepare it and eat on the deck, as well as eat out close by at the Stone House Pub or drive into nearby Sidney with great places to choose from; we went to the Butchart Gardens and included the fabulous tea; we had an incredible adventure of sailing among the islands; we took the ferry to Salt Spring Island just across the strait for a picnic and exploration of its artistry; and more.

Our daughter loved the shore for its great shells & sea glass & deer. Our son walked to Sidney by way of the forest paths. Along with the rest of us, our daughter-in-law enjoyed the deck setting for meals, sun sets, and hanging out. My dear one adds the playful seals and family-friendly home, cooking together, and the wonderful space just to share out lives. For me the best was having this precious haven just to BE for a week together. We lacked for nothing...just more time.

Thank you Selwyn for the ease of arrangements, the confidence in finding everything we needed, and for the excellent care you & yours give to this gem! In our 50 years of marriage, of all the places we have stayed across the U.S. and Europe, this was the BEST!!!

A fabulous experience.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have rented dozens of houses all over the US and Canada, but have never before been moved to write a review. This home is so spectacular that we felt compelled to do so. Initially, from the first communication to the last Selwyn was prompt, thorough and courteous. He was a pleasure to deal with, and could not have been more helpful. On arrival, the first thing one notices is the extraordinary view looking north over the Gulf Islands, with a veritable parade of vessels of all types passing continuously before you. To enhance the view, Selwyn had graciously left for our use binoculars and two telescopes, one upstairs and one down. When the view releases you to look around, the next thing one notices is just how clean the home is. We found it to be immaculate. The home is surrounded by lush landscaping and beautiful flowers. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glassware, pots and pans, utensils, spices, condiments, and every necessity needed. The home had an abundance of sheets, towels, paper products and cleaners. The appliances were all in full working order, there were clear instructions for use of the TV and internet (which was quite fast), and (a small detail but important to us) a garage door opener we could keep in our car (which we parked each night in the available garage). If you are two couples with families, you will appreciate the two full master bedrooms with firm and comfortable king beds, each with a commodious bath and water pressure in the showers to die for. The home is located on a very secluded lot in an exclusive residential area, but is no more than a short drive to Sidney with its restaurants and shops. Do yourself a favor and plan your trip around a stay in this one of a kind home.

Can't get enough of this house!

  • 5 of 5

This past weekend (a girls' weekend) was my fourth stay at Land's End house. Every visit we grow more and more in love with the view, the comfort of the house and the super convenient location. Selwyn, the house owner, is always responsive and caring. I would continue to highly recommend this home to anyone who wants to spend quality time with family and/or friends in an area that provides so much contact with nature, the seaside town life of Sidney, the culture of Victoria, and the ease of accessibility by ferry. My gang and I will return in the fall, and our expectations remain high.

Best property on the island!

  • 5 of 5

This property is a true gem for a vacation on the island. The location is close to get to the ferry terminal and airport. Shopping, restaurants, local farmers markets are nearby. The large property was exceptionally clean, well appointed with kitchen, laundry and bathroom supplies. The custodian and owners were easy to contact and always eager to answer any questions. The view was breathtaking! Beachcombers delight for sea glass. The wildlife (seals, sea otters, fish, rabbits and deer) kept our teenagers entertained. We were two families of three attending a wedding and visiting for a week. We plan to stay again and would without hesitation recommend this home to anyone.

Excellent Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about what a wonderful vacation home this lovely Lands End property proved to be! Five close friends and I enjoyed a "ladies getaway" week here for a special birthday celebration and we all agreed that we couldn't have chosen a better venue.

The house itself was lovely - large and spacious, perfectly appointed and fully furnished with no detail left unattended to. From the lush linens in the bedrooms and bathrooms to the fully stocked kitchen, we wanted for nothing. The beautiful deck provided total privacy along with a spectacular waterfront view to enjoy.

The location was perfect as well - just a few minutes drive to charming Sidney, a short ferry ride to lovely Salt Spring Island, a brief drive to beautiful Buschart Gardens and only a half hour from all that lovely Victoria has to offer. We enjoyed great shopping, wonderful dining and more activities than we could even begin to fit into a single week!

Our great dilemma was that there was so much to see and do in the area and yet the home was so pleasant and relaxing that we didn't want to leave. Our solution is that we all vowed to return again for another weeks vacation next year!

Thanks so much, Selwyn, for making our experience so pleasant and seamless - we look forward to planning our next visit with you in 2016
