2 BED, SLEEPS 4. BEACH, MOUNTAINS AND SPAIN WITHIN APPROX. 30 MINUTES DRIVE

Newly renovated to a high standard, this chic apartment is situated on the 2nd (top) floor of a medieval townhouse, right in the heart of the historic village of Céret.

It really doesn't get more central than this. With dozens of cafes, shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep you can leave the car and enjoy the village on foot. For those who wish to buy fresh produce in the market, there is a well equipped kitchen to cook up those local delicacies. Within the ancient fortifications, the apartment is ideally placed overlooking a square and the 'Picasso' fountain. People watching can become real obsession here.

The creative/artistic nature of Céret is reflected in the apartment with many of the fixtures and artworks produced by local artists and artisans. Some low ceilings and original features add to the charm of this apartment. Just 5 minutes walk will take you out of the village and into the mountains, with gentle trails and bubbling streams. Ideal for families and couples, this apartment allows you the option to relax and de-stress while also being a great base to explore and experience the local area.

Located between mountains and beaches, Céret is ideal for relaxing as well as exploring, mountains hikes, long sandy beaches and Spain accessible in approximately 30min drive. The region boasts over 300 days of sunshine per year. Céret has a long and interesting history which can be seen by the by the medieval buildings and battlements. More recently the town has been home to some of the most important artists of the 20Centuary including Picasso, Chagall and Braque. The Museum of Modern Art proudly exhibits some of these artist's work. The town has a wide selection of restaurants and shops and is well known for its Saturday market.

Céret is easily accessible with major motorway networks nearby. Local airports include Perpignan, Gerona (1hr), Bezier (1.5hrs) or Barcelona and Montpellier (2hrs). For those who wish to travel by train, rail links from UK, France and Spain can bring you to Perpignan where the train and bus station are together. Buses throughout the region are well networked and cost only 1€ per trip, no matter how far you travel, making his an affordable option.

A great little apartment in the heart of town

This apartment is right in the heart of the town of Ceret. Remi, the host, met us there and was very welcoming and a font of local knowledge. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable, although if you are over 6 foot tall the upstairs area has very low ceilings with beams. The location was fantastic, right in the centre of a bustling little town, we could listen to live music by just opening the windows, however parking was always a hunt, but the main town car park was not too far away. 40 minutes to the beach, 20 minutes to the mountains, we would definitely come here again.

Super accueil de Remi a notre arrivée. Appartement spacieux , idéal pour notre famille de 4. très propre et belle deco, de nombreux équipements qui nous ont permis de passer un très bon séjour. Excellente situation au centre de Ceret.

L'appartement est très bien situé, au cœur du vieux Céret et ses animations régulières. Propre, design et spacieux. Certes, il y fait très chaud, mais après tout, si nous venons dans cette région, c'est aussi pour cette raison. Très bon accueil à notre arrivée.

Appartement en coeur de ville, confortable et bien décoré mais trop chaud en été

Malgré une excellente literie, nos nuits furent difficiles entre chaleur excessive (une meilleure isolation voire une climatisation seraient vraiment necessaires dans les chambres) et l'animation de la ville pendant la féria. En revanche nous avons beaucoup aimé la situation centrale de l'appartement qui permet de profiter des bars, commerces et musées et même de partir de là pour de nombreuses promenades et randonnées dans les environs. Nous y reviendrons volontiers au printemps ou à l'automne !

Agradable apartamento situado en pleno centro de Ceret. Muy bien equipado y exquisitamente decorado. Los techos de las habitaciones y el lavabo son un poco bajos e incómodos. Caluroso en verano. Ceret és una población con mucha vitalidad y energía, con muchos bares y terrazas llenos incluso por la noche, algo poco habitual en Francia. La acogida y atención de Jay, fenomenal.

Lovely location, clean and very comfortable in historic centre

Ceret is a charming town and for the few days we were there, we wanted to stay right in the centre of things and we were! Up 2 flights of steps, we had a charming view and the added advantage of an apartment to come back to and relax in during the day. Friends who were staying in nearby hotels were very jealous. All the equipment we needed was there. Charmingly furnished. Headroom is limited upstairs - be warned, but worked OK for us.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans cette appartement. La literie est excellente. Petit défaut, il ne faut pas être grand pour la salle de bain. Bien situé au centre et à quelques minutes des commerces.

Overall Nice apartment

The apartment is nicely located in the city center. The apartment was clean and well furnished. My only wish was that proper adult bath towels were provided. Only small ones which was not practical. Also, on the description it says pool thinking that there is one attached to the property however this is not the case, what it meant is that there is a city communal pool. This was a great disappointment to us as we were searching for an apartment with a pool.

Lovely place with Catalane charms

The flat was above an art gallery. Very clean comfortable.well decorated by local colors. Very happy with beds,confortable,large and spacious. One tiny thing to be in mind, watch your head in the bathroom (ceiling height) We recommend this place for a family stay. We could park our car nearby.

Clean, bright and central

A very pleasant, well-refurbished flat overlooking the fountain in a quiet town-centre Place in Ceret. Two big bedrooms and a good, well-equipped kitchen/living area. May not suit very tall people who forget to duck when entering the shower room under the eaves, but ideal for anyone else!

Stylish apartment in Central Ceret

I reserved this apartment for 4 days for my family. They were absolutely delighted with it, loving the central situation in the old town next to the old town battlements. They particularly loved the tasteful decor and furnishings as well as the excellent state of cleanliness throughout. When my grandson inadvertently locked the family out of the apartment, Jay was extremely helpful and kind, arranging for a locksmith immediately. All ended very happily and we would not hesitate to reserve this aparrtment again in the future .
