About this property

Private Beach & Lakefront on beautiful Schroon Lake

Private and quiet lake house with 300 feet of combined dock and private beach waterfront on the beautiful east shore of Schroon Lake. Gorgeous lake and mountain views from every room of this 5 bedroom, 2 ½ bath house, complete with your 100 foot private beach and boat slip. Boat dock accommodates more than one boat/watercraft and other slips may be occupied. The house sleeps 10 comfortably. It is not ADA compliant. The adjacent houses on either side are 75 feet away, vacant forest is behind, and the water is in the front, providing seclusion.
On the first floor the house has an outdoor deck with electric sunshade and an adjacent sunroom with floor to ceiling windows for dining, relaxing and watching the evening sunsets over Schroon Lake. The kitchen has a cooking island with new stainless appliances, including a dishwasher. Family room has a big screen TV with Wi-Fi and a beautiful pellet stove for chilly evenings. There is a half bath off the kitchen.
On the second floor there is a large primary suite which has a flatscreen TV, with a private balcony for relaxing, having morning coffee and taking in the gorgeous views. Within the large primary suite is a second bedroom, sitting area and a primary bathroom with TWO showers and a bathtub. The primary suite has a king size bed and in the adjoining bedroom a bunk bed with full and twin beds.
On the other side of the second floor is a full laundry room with new front load washer & dryer and three bedrooms – each with a queen size bed and one shared full bath with shower and bathtub. Each room has views of the lake and mountains.
Across the street is access to the lake with private beach and a boat slip -great for boating, sailing, jet skiing, kayaking, water skiing or any type of water activity. Nearby is hiking, extreme ropes course, sightseeing, mini-golf, amusement park, outlet shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, horseback riding, golfing, bicycling, mountain biking, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, tubing, ice fishing and snow shoeing. Gore Mountain Skiing is 20 minutes away (you can see it from the house) and Whiteface skiing is 45 minutes. In the Fall, the foliage on the mountains are a tapestry of beautiful colors.
The Town of Schroon Lake is about 10 miles from the house and has a golf course, tennis and basketball courts, restaurants and must-see art deco movie theater. Within walking distance is the local Adirondack store.
We’ve been vacationing in the Adirondacks for 15 years and are still discovering all the things to do and see in this area. The stresses of everyday will melt away as you wake up each day looking at the lake and mountains.

Wonderful lake house

We had a great week on Schroon Lake. The accommodations were great just as described. Kitchen was fully loaded with everything we need to cook most of our meals where we ate at the fantastic table in the enclosed porch overlooking the lake. Great dock and beach as well. We will be coming back

Schroon Lake stay

This is a nice house in a nice location on Schroon lake. It was a perfect place for our family to gather as it had plenty of room and the extra nice dining area had a great view and was wonderful for visiting, especially on hot or rainy afternoons. It has a very nice outdoor area and relatively large beach area. I appreciated that there was plenty of necessary supplies like paper towels and dish soap. Note: the pillows are small and flat - if that is important to you then consider bringing your own if possible. Otherwise the house was comfortable.

Great views of the lake, very comfortable house

The front of the house has lots of windows to enjoy the great view of the lake and mountains. We rented a boat and docked it at the private dock across the road. Also a nice fire pit by the water to make s'mores and relax. The living room also has a nice big TV that was good for keeping the little one occupied. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies, and new appliances. But the grill was pretty rough, so I'd plan on cooking indoors most of the time. Overall we had a very relaxing stay.

Fun Trip :)

Thank you Joanne & Glen for sharing your beautiful home with us! We loved everything about the house & were sad to leave. We had 2 families (family of 4 and family of 5) & the home was perfect for that - plenty of space for all. Everything was super clean & well stocked. We even asked if we were not finding a blender & within an hour Glen came with a new one for us. There were plenty of cleaning supplies, towels & basics that most rental homes don’t supply. The laundry room was a plus to have and also was well supplied with detergent & dryer sheets, baskets & drying rack. The home furnishings gave it a comfortable & relaxing feel. We enjoyed eating on the front deck & grilling off the side in the evening sun. Loved being on the lake! A rainy day was spent playing games in the sunroom, all other days just hiking (kids loved finding newts & frogs on hikes), biking, boating & swimming. We brought our boat and the dock was convenient. Kids waterskied & tubed...we even ended some days boating to the town to hop off for ice cream at Stewarts. The views were amazing- didn’t expect to see all the High Peaks in the distance & the ever changing skies were spectacular! The beach area was perfect & we really enjoyed the fir pit to end the day. Overall, a great place to relax in these crazy times. A much needed vacation for all :) Thanks again xx

Family vacation

My family had a great time on our annual family vacation at this beautiful home on Schroon Lake. The home was very clean and well-stocked with everything needed. Our favorite room to have family meals and to play games at night was the sunroom with amazing views of the lake. The lakefront area is spacious and sandy and an easy area to access the lake for swimming, floating, kayaking. We loved that there was a cabana to store all of our chairs and inflatables while we were there. You do have to walk down/uphill and across the street to get to and from the house and the lake, but my family didn’t find it to be too big of a deal. The hosts, Neil and Joanne, are very accommodating and gracious hosts.

Perfect stay for a family vacation!

The cabin is beautiful and suited all 10 of us perfectly -- enough space to sleep comfortably. Great dining area to entertain and enjoy each other's company. Having a space for a boat to be docked was very convenient. The hosts were very responsive and kind. Have ZERO complaints. Hope to stay there again in the future!

One of the best houses on the lake

After renting on Schroon Lake for the past 17 years, this home was by far the best. The house was super clean and fully stocked with anti bacterial soap and wipes. The house layout lets you take in the lake views while dining in the all glass room. Same view from the living room. The master suite is massive, has its own on suite and offers the same lake views. All the rooms are well air conditioned which makes the hot days very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would ever need, including a stove top espresso maker which was a nice surprise. The lakefront is sandy and gradually gets deeper so its safe for young kids. The house also has an outdoor shower which was very convenient to use when coming back from a swim. Beach towels are also provided. All the showers and bathrooms were stocked with soaps and shampoo, another nice touch. A boat dock comes with the house so we rented a boat for the week water skiing and wakeboarding. We also used it to go to town since Schroon Lake has free public docking next to the town beach. The owners really thought of everything and made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you Joanne and Neil for a wonderful week on the lake.

Beautiful setting and accomodations

Everything was as expected except for the rain . even with rain almost all week there are enough areas to allow for personal tome as well as group time. Only complaint is the ramp to the dock. Very steep and could be dangerous to walk up or down. I had a boat and found it hard to get to and from. I have some difficulty on my left side.

The house was lovely and just as it appeared on the website. The location can't be beat - right across the road from Schroon Lake with a small private beach and a canoe. There is plenty of space to relax outdoors - on the deck, Adirondack chairs next to the house, by the lake or next to the fire pit. The large and sunny windowed dining room overlooking the lake is where we spent much of our time. The gas grill was great! Both Neil and Joanne were highly responsive and easy to reach. At one point, we let Neil know that the coffee machine wasn't working well and within a half hour, he dropped off a new one. Lots to do in the area or you can just relax with views of Schroon Lake.

Nice family getaway

House exceeded our expectations. There were 9 of us including a toddler and a baby and we could have been comfortable with 2 or 3 more. There are 3 bathrooms and an enclosed outdoor shower as well. The kitchen was very well equipped including a large fridge with an ice maker. Excellent lake views from both the outdoor and enclosed (and air conditioned!) porches. Lots of space to spread out in the common areas. The lake was high, so not too much beach below, but the bathing area is nice and sandy. The upper part of the beach could use more level spots for seating. The fire pit was very nice and well stocked with firewood. Perfect for s'mores at sunset. Very notable - a lightening strike nearby burned out a component on the well pump. Neil had the well company out in less than half an hour and we were back in business in less than an hour. Amazing. One final note - if you're going to bring babies, bring a diaper pail as there's a policy of not putting dirty diapers in the trash.

Lovely stay.

Neil and Joanne were very accommodating. The property is lovely and we really enjoyed hanging out in the beautiful sunroom overlooking the lake. All the children, aged 2-10 as well as the adults enjoyed their stay.

An Amazing week at Schroon Lake!

Still wishing we were back at this wonderful house on Schroon Lake! Perfect getaway for our family on the south side of the lake and the house was private but not secluded which is what we were hoping for. The house was clean and sanitized when we arrived and there was no hesitation or worry about anything. Loved the sun room for dinners, games, and just enjoying that unforgettable view. Amazing sunsets viewed from the deck and the electronic shade came in handy in the afternoon hours. We enjoyed the lake each day by renting kayaks but mostly swimming and relaxing in the chairs off the private shore. Great hikes nearby in the Pharoah Wilderness area (with stops to the Adirondack Country Store for ice cream on the way!) and plenty of walks on the east shore road as cars were mindful of the frequent walkers and bikers. Wifi TV provided movies for the family at night and enjoyed S'mores by the outdoor firepit. Joanne and Neil were so helpful and available to answer any questions before and during the stay. The house was very comfortable and just what we needed for a relaxing week. Wish we could have stayed longer and hoping for a return visit in the future!

Gorgeous lake, great house!

My family with three kids ages 6-12 and my adult siblings came together for a week at this gorgeous vacation house. We rented a pontoon (dock spot with rental), lounged in multiple floaties we brought, drank cocktails on the porch, watched the sunset from the sand, and played board games on the awesome closed in porch until the early hours of the morning. The lake water is crystal clear, and the surrounding mountain views are stunning. Not advertised but super useful and awesome was the outdoor shower in the back of the house - some of my family never showered inside! My kids brought sand toys that they used extensively, and bikes that only the adults rode on the pretty safe road the house is on (cars sometimes go by pretty fast but are aware of pedestrians). You cross that road to get down to the beach/water, but you can see in both directions very well and far enough that my 8 year old crossed alone frequently. There were some bugs but not enough to stop you from doing anything outdoors but bring a lot of bug spray anyway. The owners were super responsive and helped us with whatever we needed. All in all we had an amazing week at a great house and if we can we'll rent this one again next year!

Perfect property for gorgeous lakeside stay. Manageable drive to Gore Mountain and other local attractions. House was very well appointed and owners were excellent in communicating with us. Comfortable and well furnished. Would stay here again if we return to the Adirondack’s.

Schroon Lake East Shore

The house was a wonderful fit for our group of 9. The hosts were very responsive to our inquiries. We especially enjoyed the dining area overlooking the lake and the outside deck. We did not use the house air conditioning as the fans in the bedrooms were sufficient. The air conditioning units on the enclosed porch where we ate kept the room very comfortable with the heat of the afternoon sun.

Wonderful Accommodations Made for a Fabulous Weekend

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this property. Joanne and Neil were easy to work with through the whole process from booking to check-out. Their home is very comfortable - we had seven adults staying there and we never felt like we were too much in each other's space. The outdoor space is great as well. Schroon Lake is a beautiful lake and this home provides easy access for kayaks/canoes/swimming/etc. We would definitely recommend this home to other and hope to be able to return for another stay there as well.
