Thank you for your great review Bonnie. I’m so pleased that you loved Apartamento Azul and had such a good time. It’s a shame it was cold for your stay. It is certainly true that most holiday villas and apartments are mainly focussed on keeping cool in hot weather and aren’t as great at keeping you warm in the less common cold weather.

Thank you for taking the time to review Apartamento Azul. I was rather saddened to read it because I felt it differed very much in feeling from the nice email reply that you sent to me when I enquired about your holiday. Your reply to me whilst mentioning the mattress, toilet seat and drawer front was otherwise positive and I felt you had enjoyed the apartment other than those things. My reply to you stated that I would arrange for a new mattress and get the management company to have the drawer front repaired and the toilet seat looked at and I have indeed already done those things. I am sorry you found the front balcony a trial. I love sitting out there watching the world go by, the only trial for me is jumping up to see who is walking past now and what they are chatting about etc! We don't hide the fact that it is in the centre of Praia da Luz as we feel that is a major bonus, and indeed the first sentence of the description states 'right in the heart of Praia da Luz'. The road is cobbled which doesn't help with road noise, but just for other prospective guests benefit I should point out that the road is a narrow, single direction cobbled road with traffic travelling at 20-30mph maximum and not a busy fast highway or similar! As I said in my reply to your email I do thank you for your comments, particularly those about the mattress and loo seats as they help us to keep on top of maintenance issues that are only clear when using the apartment between our own visits.

Different balconies to use. However, there is some traffic from the road which can be heard very clearly in the morning. Our boys were very much looking forward to the pool. However, there are some restrictions. So it is primarily a "deep pool" as neither jumping nor playing ball is allowed in it. But after a day of adventure or at the beach, it's nice to be able to cool off. There are quite a few chemicals in the pool, and after the cleaning we were advised not to swim in it until some time passes. Hard to know how long it is. We were happy to have a cozy base for our holiday in Portugal.'

Thank you for your review. I am sorry about the problem with the garage door. I can imagine this was very annoying, but just for other readers' benefit would like to point out it was not our garage door but that for the whole apartment block. I was not aware of any issue with the washing machine and you do not explain what that might be? Yes I am sorry but the TV channels are UK /English speaking channels. I do realise this is not ideal for you, but as we are British and the majority of our guests are British this does work well for most of our guests. Unfortunately satellite feed to the Algarve is now very limited. We used to offer satelite TV which gave the benefit of channels in many languages including English and German , but this is no longer an option. Apt Azul is above a restaurant and right in the centre of town. As you say this has its benefits and also its slight downside of being a little noisy at times. Mir ist kein Problem mit der Waschmaschine aufgefallen und Sie erklären nicht, was das ist. Ja, es tut mir leid, aber die TV-Kanäle sind UK / Englisch sprechende Kanäle. Ich weiß, dass dies nicht ideal für Sie ist, aber da wir Briten sind und die Mehrheit unserer Gäste Briten sind, funktioniert das gut für die meisten unserer Gäste. Leider ist die Satellitenversorgung der Algarve jetzt sehr begrenzt. Früher haben wir Satellitenfernsehen angeboten, das Kanäle in vielen Sprachen, darunter Englisch und Deutsch, bot, aber das ist keine Option mehr. Apt Azul befindet sich über einem Restaurant und direkt im Zentrum der Stadt. Wie Sie sagen, hat dies seine Vorteile und auch seinen leichten Nachteil, dass es manchmal etwas laut ist.
