Overview

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Riverside Princess is in one of the historic subdivisions of Gatlinburg and adjoins the famous Trout Stream which meanders through the heart of Gatlinburg. Her deck overlooks the stream and is perfect for a romantic dinner serenaded by rushing water. The hot tub allows guests to enjoy the outdoors in cooler weather and in comfort and privacy. Both the bedroom and living room overlook the stream, with the rapids singing guests to sleep.

Recently acquired from a family whose ownership lasted several decades, Riverside Princess has been completely renovated, interior and exterior, including conversion from a two-bedroom layout to a large and romantic one bedroom layout to accommodate its king-size bed and oversized bathroom featuring custom inlaid slate shower and sauna. The kitchen is likewise newly remodeled and stocked with new appliances. The entire interior is finished in tongue and groove with hardwood floors, sparing no expense.

Accented with eighteenth century antiques, together with other high quality furniture, 42-inch plasma television, Riverside Princess offers the very best of comfort, amenities and atmosphere. A well-stocked DVD collection is included to keep younger souls occupied when not enjoying the river. We can assist with trout stamp/license information, and the river is stocked with trout weekly most of the year so even a novice fisherman is assured of an enjoyable catch.

As one of only a dozen or so cabins still available on the river and in downtown Gatlinburg, Riverside Princess is sure to become your favorite hideaway in the Smokies.

This is a wonderful property has everything you need and then some.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for my husband and I. It's within walking distance to downtown but if you don't want to walk there is a trolly stop very close. It was very clean and had everything you would need. I would recommend this to anyone. If you are looking for quiet, relaxing atmosphere and all around great place to stay this is the place.

Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is amazing! My husband and I needed some time away from the day to day routine and this was the perfect location! The cabin overlooks the river and is at the end of the a side street, providing peace and quiet. It is within walking distance to the main parkway and toward the Pigeon Forge end of Gatlinburg, across from an alpine coaster. The décor was beautiful, size was perfect and the amenities were awesome! Perfect for a relaxing weekend!

Convenient walking distance to downtown.

  • 2 of 5

The provided parking space next to the river is not well suited for a large SUV. We were blessed with almost spring-like weather in mid-February, and so it is a good thing it was not drizzling rain or freezing cold as I attempted to enter using the pass-code I had been provided by e-mail. I had to call the office to acquire a correct code. The kitchen lacks sufficient work-space for persons who like to prepare their own meals. Mainly good for simple breakfast items and a trip into town for other meals. The decoration of the cabin is lovely, but a little more attention should be paid to dusting underneath the couch and vacuuming the rug. Visitors should be warned that there is a "sunken" living room. Because of the very nice wood flooring, there should be some warning of this so that visitors watch their step almost as soon as they get into the door. The front plank of each step should be stained darker to give visual contrast. Instructions advised that extra light bulbs were under the sink. We had to call the office to get some delivered when the lamp at one end of the couch blew. And the thermostat was set in Centigrade rather than Fahrenheit. Be prepared to convert.

DON'T STAY HERE

  • 1 of 5

So, the cabin itself was cute, however it being within walking distance to the main area was a stretch... but that was the least of our problems here. Upon entering, the walkway & deck was full of ice and hazardous- no snow cleared, no ice melt down, we had to sweep the snow with the broom we found. We were told there would be firewood, but none of it was dry or usable so we had to go purchase our own. The couches in the cabin were so WARN OUT that we sat in kitchen chairs or on the bed ONLY. The worst part was that there was NO WATER. The first night, there was no hot water AT ALL and the next day the water wouldn't even turn on (apparently the pipes froze- one might think a mountain cabin would be prepared for cold weather.) WE WERE NEVER ABLE TO SHOWER THE ENTIRE WEEKEND. The property manager came to fix the water barely in time for check out and not an apology or ounce of kindness was shown. I have rented many a cabin and never have I ever had such a terrible experience. I do not recommend staying here or renting with this management company. This place was AWFUL.

Amazing time on the river!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at this cabin. It was so pretty and is in an amazing location. We could walk to everything and never had to pay to park. The patio is really nice with stonework, a hot tub, and a deck that backs up to the hill.

Inside it was very clean. It has a Victorian looking fireplace which was really nice to take Christmas photos in front of. It was decorated with a Christmas tree which made it feel very cozy. The bathroom is just amazing!! We loved the dual headed shower. The king size bed was really comfy too!!

We will be sure to book another stay at this place as everything was perfect for our needs!! :-)

Quiet location

  • 3 of 5

First time staying at this cabin. Owner and rental office were easy to contact and accommodating. The mattress was worn and uncomfortable and was replaced almost immediately. We used the fireplace and the office was quick to deliver more wood. The location is close to town, was a $5 Uber ride or a $.50 trolley ride to the aquarium...the cabin is located across from the roller coaster if you are familiar with the area.

We have stayed in numerous cabins over the years in Gatlinburg and were disappointed in some aspects of this cabin. I think had we not stayed anywhere else, we would have thought this cabin was great. The fireplace is beautiful and the creek across the street is relaxing to watch and listen, this did make this cabin special, but we will not return. Make sure to bring toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and stuff to wash your dishes/laundry. What was in the cabin was not enough for the length of our stay.
