Charming log cabin with great views over beautiful Loch Awe and mountains beyond

Well equipped self-catering cabin in a breath taking location. The cabin is situated in an elevated position with stunning views from glazed elevation. It has a wealth of character and charm and provides a true log cabin experience.

The accommodation consists of open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen, double bedroom (with en-suite), twin bedroom, double bunk room and family shower room and lovely wood fired hot tub.

The lounge / dining area, which has a high vaulted ceiling, has Satellite TV, DVD, Hi-Fi (via TV & DVD), WiFi * (at extra cost), sofa, easy chairs, dining table for 8 and a lovely wood burning stove. Loch elevation is mainly glazed, to maximise the stunning view, with French windows opening onto a raised veranda area.

The kitchen area is well equipped, with cooker, fridge / freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and all necessary utensils, crockery & cutlery.

Bedroom 1 is a first floor mezzanine room with views over the loch. It has double bed, clothes storage and bed side tables & has an en-suite shower room.

Bedroom 2 has twin beds, wardrobe / clothes storage and bed side cabinet.

Bedroom 3 has two bunk beds, wardrobe / clothes storage and bed side table.

Shower rooms are tastefully finished and have electric showers, wash basin, toilet and shaver point.

Outside there is parking for two cars, an elevated veranda with garden furniture, wood fired hot tub, a BBQ/fire-pit area and ample grounds. The cabin provides privacy and is bordered by a large open meadow on which children can play safely, while watched over from the living area.

The cabin is timber lined throughout, double glazed, highly insulated, well heated and suitable for year round use.

Whether you require a base from which to explore Argyll and the west coast, simply enjoy the local area or just relax and be at one with nature our log cabin provides the perfect location.

All electricity and linen (not towels) are included within quoted prices.

PLEASE NOTE: Rental rates include 3 bags of logs for use in hot tub. Additional logs can be purchased from our House Keeper or at the village shop. Please be aware that this is a traditional hot tub and not a Jacuzzi / spa and water is heated by a wood fired burner, which may take some while (up to 5 hours in first instance) to heat.

Wi-fi is charge at £15 per shorth break or £30 per week. Please advise if required when booking.

I want to live here!

My party stayed at the other side of Loch Awe a couple of years ago and were keen to return to the area. Decided on Dalavich after driving past the village previously. The cabin is in a great location with amazing views. Not too far from the loch. The cabin was clean and functional. Great size for the 4 of us. Measures taken due to Covid19 and instructions clear in cabin. Had the most amazing weather! Come to Scotland at least once a year and never had weather as good! The aircon is a great touch, and having two bathrooms was great. For the price it is excellent. Definitely recommend!

2 weeks in the green

We all really enjoyed staying in Dalavich. Pretty nice and green area to relax and forget about everything. With 6 people, it was a little bit tight after a while, but still a really nice place to be. Hope to be there again as soon as possible! The house with all it wood let it feel warm even in the chilly scottish nights :)

Out of the way but beautiful.

The cabin is fantastic and the loch is beautiful. It's a long, winding drive to reach it and makes for lots of driving if excursions in the Oban area is your primary goal, but it is a lovely place to escape and the cabin is very comfortable.

Excellent week, except for the rain and midges!

Had a lovely week with friends, weather could have been better and midges were a bit annoying. Some good walks nearby. Avich falls were benefiting from the rain. Had a couple of good nights in the bar with the motorcycle rally guys. Hope to do it again next year.

Lovely place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. Sofa bed was really comfy and we had plenty of space amoungst the three bedrooms. Really enjoyed having a balcony and a patch of grass at the back of the cabin. Was very close to the Loch which was nice. The highlight for us was being able to watch the stars through the big window from the sofa in the evenings. Was also well catered with 3 TVs, some DVDs and board games!

Gemütliche Hütte mit guter Ausstattung.

Dalavich ist sehr abgelegen. Dafür liegt die FeWo in toller Natur. Die Zimmer sind teilweise sehr klein.

Fantastic!!

A beautiful presented cabin!very clean and equipped with everything you need!even a bbq which we did use! It was our friends first visit to Scotland and the location and cabin was first class!!housekeeper and son were very helpful!and the locals were very freindly stopped and chatte we will definitely be coming back!

Loved it....!

The Osprey cabin is in an outstanding location, the area looked stunning during our stay in November with the snowy mountains and the autumn colours. Chris the guy were you get your logs from, was very helpful. The cabin itself is beautifully furnished and comfortable throughout and has a well equipped kitchen. Even with 6 adults and 2 dogs there was plenty of room. Make sure to visit the Kilchrenan Inn, its about 7 miles away and serves locally produced pub meals at a good price its run by a friendly couple who make you feel welcome, we even talked to the farmer who supplies the beef.

great base with all you need

Great cabin to stay in an amazing location. Everything works and had all we needed for a weeks stay. There is very close access to loch edge to kayak around plus the surrounding roads and forest areas are perfect for mountain biking. We had a meal in the community bar which was ideal and then stayed for the quiz. Would recommend anyone who likes the outdoors and doesn't want a butler fussing over them then this place is for you. We saw eagles , kingfisher , red squirrels plus lots of other wildlife.

The log cabin was excellent, lovely view over loch

The property (Log cabin) was superb, it is fully geared to allow yourself self catering with as much facilities as your normal home. All of cabin was clean, warm and well maintained. Views over loch Awe were stunning and weather was also in our favour. Due to ourselves arriving late we had taken a small stock of food, this is something I would advise future visitors to do if arriving late and out of season. The family who meet and greet are very helpful and it was great to tap into there local knowledge. I would have no hesitation in recommending friends. My stay was fantastic.
