No Air Conditioning
I reserved this apartment for 3 nights in July. When we checked in to the apartment it was incredibly hot inside. As we checked in the host turned on the A/C. I specifically asked if the AC in the kitchen was going to cool the entire apartment. I was told yes and that if it didn’t I could open the windows. Maybe if you grow up without AC you could open the windows at night but this is Sicily in July. If you are used to any sort of AC you can’t sleep with that level of heat and humidity. That night it was unbearably hot. We had to sleep in the living room on the sofa so that we could get the slightest bit of relief. We left the next day and the host refused to refund me the money for the second two nights. In reality, the entire amount should have been refunded. If you’re thinking about staying here and going for a quick dip in the water, you can’t. The beach across the street is private. I think it costs like 7 euro maybe more. The ‘private parking’ isn’t private. It’s in a pay lot 300 meters away. We only ate at one restaurant in the area and it was terrible. It was our only bad meal in Sicily. We moved to Taormina and had a much better time. We also had a much better stay in Siracusa. The host that checked us in was very friendly and punctual. I just can’t recommend staying here to anyone unless they add another A/C unit in the bedroom,
