Why Bill Parks chose Northwest

We spent a week at this beautiful lake home this summer. We returned after falling on love with the place last year. This lake home is really an ideal north-woods vacation spot. The home is beautiful, spacious, welcoming, comfortable, clean (very!), and quite charming. Its just the kind of place folks like to return to after a day of fishing, boating, tubing, swimming, golfing, sightseeing, hiking, or whatever. Little Round Lake is just the right size to cruise around and relax with a cocktail. And, the wildlife is terrific. We saw eagles, hawks, otters, loons, ducks, geese, herons, and a fox. Its a terrific house for kids too. There is plenty of space to spread out. And, you can swim off of the beach or the pier. We've already made our reservations for next year. All of us, kids and grand-kids included, highly recommend this wonderful place !! Everything that Hayward has to offer is nearby. You will enjoy this home and setting for sure !

Great house!

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from staying in this house for a week! This house is so clean upon arrival and fit our group's needs extremely well. The kitchen was well equipped with every thing you need! The owner is very quick with his responses and was very willing to answer all of my questions since we had not stayed at this house before! There is a boat lift included which was ideal since we always bring out own boat. You are staying right on Little Round Lake, but you have access to Round Lake by going under the bridge that connects the two lakes. We boated over to DJ's Dock for dinner one night and found the food to be very good. We had good fishing on both of the lakes and by the dock. We would definitely stay at this house again!

Great Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year at this beautiful cabin on Little Round Lake. Enough room to accommodate our 5 adults and 4 teens! We love being on the quiet clear Little Round but had easy access to Big Round for great fishing and swimming on the sand bars. One bonus for our family was the use of the boat lift. We had great fun swimming and floating off the dock. It's close to Hayward for mini golf and shopping. The owners are great and very proud of their lake home.

Outstanding Vacation for Many Years

  • 5 of 5

This year was our 4th year staying at this wonderful lake home near Hayward, WI. My wife's family has traveled to Hayward every summer for more than 30 years. As the family expands, it has been harder to find homes that can comfortably fit 10 of us. This home does that with a private bedroom for every couple and even a great room for the kids with bunk beds that they look forward to every year. We bring our personal watercraft each year and there is a great dock for both swimming and launching off for fun. This year we even rented a boat for the week and it was nice to have a place to tie it up each night. We plan to return for many years to come!

Look elsewhere!

  • 2 of 5

House o.k., lake gorgeous!

Problems... Owner never told us he was leaving his pontoon moored between the docks. With our pontoon, no room to swim or fish off piers.

Area down by lake, VERY small. Screen porch VERY small "plus" you have to keep your garbage stored out there. Not too pleasant to take a nap next to a pile of garbage! I had to go out and buy a trash can as they didn't even provide that.

Owner seemed nice UNTIL he got my deposit. Then was extremely rude.

We ended up having a great time as the weather cooperated and we spent most of the time out on the lake.

After we left, major problems with owner. We've been renting for 15 yrs. and have never had a problem. They tried to charge us for the most ridiculous things. I kept the house clean and the property. I came with my 6 grandkids and was always cleaning up after them.

It seems that unless you are a monk, traveling with Sister Theresa and a team from Merry Maids, you may want to look elsewhere. This home is only meant to be looked at, not lived in or enjoyed.

There were multiple wasp nests on the garage,( 2 of my grandkids got stung), nails sticking out on the docks,(one grandson got cut), and I had to go out and buy rope to fix the hammock as it was falling apart.

Yet, they proceded to charge me for a missing butter dish!! I don't even know what that is and certainly did not steal one!!!

At this price, there are a lot of beautiful homes to consider. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with these people. They don't belong renting out their home as they don't allow you to enjoy it.

Owner's Response: Check our other reviews. We have had groups return 3 years in a row. These renters were the worst we have had in 6 years of renting our home thru VRBO. We have a 10 person limit and we think they had more than 10 staying at our home. I had to rent a Rug Doctor carpet cleaner as there were numerous stains on our carpet. Our home and appliances are extremly clean(see reviews) when our guests arrive. Our clean up maid and ourselves spent more time cleaning our home than for any other renter that has stayed with us. In fact when cleaning the oven for the next renters a fire broke out as there was loads of grease in the oven. Our home is non-smoking yet we found cigarette ashes on our porch which is attached to the house. If other owners read this be wary of Pam and her group from Romeoville, Ill.

Something for everyone on Little Round Lake

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year of staying in this special place. Little Round Lake is perfect for families with small children. The water is clear and calm. Kayaking, swimming, and fishing off the two docks was perfect for the little ones. The big guys motored over to Big Round for serious fishing. The house is beautiful and well maintained. My favorite spot is the screened porch. We have made our reservations for next year.
