Guestbook comments from the owner

What a blessed week filled with joy, peace, tears and laughter. The pool, the lake, golf and trampolines. What more could we ask for. Nothing like a week filled with good food, family and kids laughter, and a great house.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

  • 4 of 5

We had a very memorable long weekend at the Farmhouse which is strategically located close to multiple wineries, Lake Chelan and Mill Bay Casino. The Farmhouse easily sleeps 14 people very comfortably and offers three bathrooms which was handy for an all women group. We were able to fix our meals, relax and laugh a lot in the large living room and sit out on the patio soaking up a great fall sunny day. There is also a BBQ and propane fire pit but we weren't able to take advantage of them. The pool was also a big hit and enjoyed by all. I would highly recommend the Farmhouse for any larger groups or families that need a lot of room and want a comfortable place to relax.

The perfect family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic, long weekend at the farmhouse; the house is cozy, well-maintained, and the perfect size for my large family. My favorite part is the large yard and pool- I felt like the kids were safe and had lots of room to run...which allowed the grown ups to relax! The pool is perfectly situated and large enough for the whole family to enjoy. We enjoyed several meals in the charming outdoor eating space, and had lots of laughs around the outdoor gas fire. The house is in a great location, central to wineries and restaurants. It is well equipped, and the owner was easy to work with. We'll be back!

Great house

  • 5 of 5

I loved the charm of this older farm house. Each room is comfortable and cozy, with tons of room for many guests to stay. The pool is great, we enjoyed lounging there as well as under the covered patio. There was everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare our own meals, and we were close enough to town and wineries to eat out when we wanted to. It is a great place for our girls weekend!! Will definitely plan on going back!

We love the Farm

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to the farmhouse every year for seven years now. Our kids absolutely love it and will not allow us to go anywhere else. We have a big family and the best part is all the space to run around. One of our most favorite places.

Family Reunion

  • 2 of 5

12 family members enjoyed a week at the Chelan Farmhouse, coming from 4 different states. We were lucky enough to be there before the fires began in the area. Everything that we needed was available and there was plenty of room for everyone. It could use some updating, however.

Our only reservation about the house is that the stairs are extremely steep going upstairs, and there is no bathroom up stairs with the 3 bedrooms. The yard was big, however, parts of it was overgrown and unusable.

Owner's Response: We agree with most of what is said above. We also thought this renter was a very nice person and enjoyed having her at our house. We do not, however, agree with her two star rating. While she described the house as dated, we would point out that it is a 100 year old house. The stairs are a but steep. It is, however, very well kept up with brand new carpeting, and nice furniture, and all the modern conveniences. We feel that the word dated: implies the house is not being kept up, and this is not true, the old house is a labor of love for us, and we are constantly working to keep it nice for our guests. It is not a brand new modern house. We do have three homes we rent in Chelan that are brand new. The difference is, we charge a thousand dollars more a week for those houses. Our goal for the farmhouse is not to provide the nicest, newest house in the valley, but rather the best value in the valley, and we believe we have met that goal. Most of our guests are repeat renters that have been coming year after year. If you want a brand new luxury home for your stay, the farm house is not for you. If you want a large charming property at an affordable price that your children will love, with endless lawns, a great swimming pool, and tons of nooks and crannies to explore, then the Farmhouse is the place for you . Finally, she was correct that the farm was overgrown on the week she arrived, and as it turned out, the week prior as well. This was an extremely embarrassing occurrence that we were not aware of until after her stay, and related to an emergency family situation our landscaper encountered, and an ensuing comedy of errors. We were mortified when we arrived at the farm because the beautiful and mature landscaping is one of the best parts about the property. We apologize profusely for the landscaping issue.
