Wine Down es una hermosa casa frente al mar en un lote de puntos con amplias vistas de la deseable Pea Hill Creek. ¡Hay un Boathouse doble moderno para el entretenimiento de Great Lakeside y una elegancia modesta para relajarse en el lago! La casa puede alojar cómodamente a un grupo de amigos o varias familias con 2 espacios de estar, varios espacios de comedor en la casa y el cobertizo, un nivel inferior completamente terminado con cocina, sala de juegos y zona de patio junto al lago. Porche superior cubierto de la orilla del lago con hermosas vistas al lago para disfrutar de increíbles puestas de sol. El hogar está situado en un lote plano, privado y pintoresco con 221 pies de costa y áreas de playa privadas. Excellent communication with host. Wonderful location with enjoyable on site amenities. The kayaks, and fire-pit were particularly appreciated. The home was thoughtfully furnished and equipped for guests, and beautifully decorated. We stayed here with our children and grandchildren, and all really enjoyed it.

Beautiful place. Plenty of space for our group of 5 adults and 3 kids. Minor hiccup was learning last minute that we needed to bring our own sheets and towels. This detail is hidden all the way at the bottom of the ammeneties list and should be more clear on the listing. We would stay here again.

Let's start with the positives, the Lake is beautiful & the house is nicely situated on the property with a private dock. We rented a pontoon boat for the week & my sons had a great time fishing, (catfish, BlueGill and Bass) The house is very nicely decorated with ample storage. Biggest negatives: the house appears neglected by the owner. When we arrived there were only 3 (total) full size garbage bags & no small bags for the bathrooms. There was no liquid dish soap,no dishwasher soap & no sponges. (hard to clean dishes without a sponge or garbage disposal) The grass was knee high and the recyclables were never picked up. One of the bathrooms had a quarter roll of TP plus one additional for the week (for a floor housing 4 people) When I contacted the owner she replied "If you need more beyond what is provided, there are places nearby to pick some up." The gas grill was filthy and probably hasn't been cleaned out in more than a year. Once I used the meager (1/2 tank) supply to clean the grill I found rusted grates. The dock fridge was filthy & the water outlets did not work. Contacted the host & she replied with the location of the water valve but added "I believe there might be a leak in the line." Hah! The line leaked like a spigot so that meant walking between the house & the dock to turn the water on/off. One of the kayaks had a broken back and they were filthy, full of spiders, leaves and other debris. Not what I expected from a "luxury" escape!

Family Getaway

The Wine Down home is beautifully set in a quiet neighborhood. The amenities made our 8-day stay so easy with a fully furnished kitchen, basic supplies, and a beautiful double boathouse with upper sundeck. The decor in the home looks like something out of a magazine…you literally want to relax. Lots to do with local shopping, boating, fishing, and more. The host is amazing and is quick to respond to any questions. I highly recommend Wine Down to any family looking to “wine down”!

Fishing trip

Great Fall weekend getaway

Spent a long weekend with two other couples for some fishing and group bonding. Had a great time with alot of good memories. Though the fishing wasn't as good as we hope, that was more a testimony to our skill level than the lake :). Plenty of room for all of us having our own bedroom and bathroom and the kitchen was spacious with a large island and dinning room table for meals, cards and dominos in the evening. We met the neighbors on both sides who were extremely friendly and helpful with using the boat ramp next door. Mark and Susan

Perfect lake getaway

A perfect house for family gatherings..lots of space inside and out and plenty of “toys” for kids and adults. The boat house is great for swimming, sunning, or just relaxing in the shaded area. Having the boat ramp next to the house and use of the boat lifts is a real plus. The house is furnished nicely and the kitchen is well equipped with small appliances, dish ware, and utensils. Host was excellent and communication was excellent as well. Five stars all the way!

We have stayed at this property for the past three years and have not been disappointed once! Everything about this place is convenient and well organized. Kate the owner is awesome to deal with and is always very welcoming before and during your stay. We plan on staying again next year!

Great family vacation

Great house, plenty of room for 8 adults. Loved being right on the water, and the boathouse is perfect for hanging out, swimming and fishing. Large yard for games as well. Kitchen is well stocked. Be sure to bring your own sheets and towels (we almost missed that in the notes). Kate was super responsive and helpful throughout the whole process!

Can’t wait to go back

It was perfect for our family of two young adults, a girlfriend and two pups. We spent so much time on the boathouse fishing, swimming, drinking morning coffee, and watching the sunsets. Sincerely hoping we are able to visit again next year. Thank you so much for sharing your home.

Hi! Thanks for considering my house for your vacation! I bought this property to enjoy with my friends and family when I was living in NYC and needed to have a respite from the fast pace of the city!! My friends and family are largely in the VA/NC area and so it was the perfect central location to be able to enjoy time with people I love. Since buying the house, I have relocated to NC and am able to enjoy the house much more regularly now - which has been fantastic! I travel internationally a lot and so you will see hints of my travels throughout the house. Hope you love it as much as I do!

This property has it all - a wonderful point lot with 221 feet of lake frontage, private beach areas and feels very private while still being close to the marina, the main lake, Washburn’s and local shopping area. The house is perfect for groups of friends or multiple families because its laid out with kitchen/bar and living areas on both of the main floors, with bedrooms and full baths. Plus, the boathouse! If you want sun or shade, motor boats, jet ski’s or kayaks, or just want to relax with good food and drinks, you won’t need to leave. It’s a very unique and special property! Hope you love it as much as I do!
