Private Luxury 3 Bedroom Villa With Infinity Pool, Games Room & Fantastic Views
Sleek, sexy, and deliciously modern, Villa Zeus Bay is a glass-encased architectural gem embraced by the arms of north-western Crete’s inimitably evocative land and seascapes. Dramatically set on manicured 4000m2 plot surrounded by native scrub and craggy coastline, and white caps glistening like diamonds atop the mirrored Aegean Sea, this secluded and utterly chic three bedroom multi-level retreat is the quintessence of quiet luxury. A magazine-worthy property that also manages to invoke a warm and homey vibe, the spacious residence is suffused in serene color -- pearly grays punctuated by radiant amethyst and lilac hues -- and is invitingly kitted with plush furnishings and top-of-the-line amenities, including under-floor cooled or heated tiling. Great walls of translucent windows and doors reveal panoramic sea and mountain views from every room, with nature’s splendors merging seamlessly into an elegantly restful living environment.
Verdant lawns offset sculptured rock and flower gardens that kiss the sloping hillside, a scattering of distant red-roofed houses visible amid the otherwise virgin landscape. Grand stone-paved patios ensconce a 40 square meter infinity swimming pool with steps and a shallow child-friendly adjacent area that is heated by heat pump at all times except July and August (conditions apply), its glistening waters melting like sapphires into the endless sea beyond. Delicate breeze wafting like whispers from a Grecian Goddess co-mingle with the chatter of birds and cicadas to create a harmonious symphony that echoes through this otherwise silent sanctuary.
Furnished vista terraces abut each of the home’s three levels, and a fashionably outfitted pergola-covered cabana (with two large 3-seater couches and coffee table) skirts a large dining table and barbecue area to create a comfortable exterior lounge. Sun beds and umbrellas edge the pool while a vast sand pit/boules court, outdoor table tennis and basketball net, and two astro-turfed areas (great for kids to play) further inspires countless hours of open-air recreation and relaxation.
Completed in May 2014, every up-to-date fitting, appliance, ornamental and functional element contained within this spectacular contemporary villa reflects the owner’s exacting aesthetic and exceptionally high standards. It is clear upon arrival that love and pride dictated this project and infuses this blue ribbon show piece from top to toe -- from the fresh décor of the rooftop patio to the furnished basement/home theatre/games room replete with projector and sliding cinema screen alongside a convertible football/air hockey table; from the custom cabinetry and subzero refrigerator that highlights the large kitchen to the luxuriant bedding and handcrafted wardrobes that define the sleeping quarters; from the fact that none of the bedrooms share connecting walls to that ensure privacy between the guests to the mosquito screens and backup air-conditioning that guarantees comfort; from the free satellite TV that provides entertainment and the wireless internet that affords convenience -- everything in this home has been carefully considered, thoughtfully chosen, and fastidiously executed.
This is a property that fuels the senses and stirs the imagination, so deliriously calming and private (the closest house is 400m away) it’s easy to forget that life exists beyond the mechanized decorative iron entry gate. But less than a kilometre away (perhaps a 20 minute stroll though olive groves) the historic hamlet of Plaka offers a small grocery store and selection of quaint tavernas while sea-front restaurants, curio and convenience shops, and an alluring ribbon of sandy beach awaits just one kilometre further in the bustling coastal village of Almyrida. You may never want to leave this halcyon haven. But if you do, Crete’s bounty beckons.

*** As of January 01, 2024, the Greek government have replaced the old “bed tax” with a new tax that is applied to all stays in short-term rental accommodation in Greece. The Climate Resilience Levy is a response to the devastating forest fires and floods that Greece has experienced in recent years, with the government hoping to generate extra funding that will go towards financing reconstruction, supporting victims, and increasing the country’s defences against future natural disasters.
The owners of all short-term rental accommodation are legally obliged to collect the Climate Resilience Levy as a separate tax for all overnight stays (per villa) as follows:
In 2024: €10.00 per night on stays between March 01 and October 31, and €4.00 per night on stays between November 01 and February 28/29.
In 2025: €15.00 per night on stays between March 01 and October 31, and €4.00 per night on stays between November 01 and February 28/29.
The Vrbo system does not have a section for collecting the Climate Resilience Levy and we have, therefore, had to add it to the billing section as an extra fee which will show on the booking as a Host Fee or an Administration Fee.
Whilst we understand the potential budget concerns of our guests, this tax/levy is beyond our control and we encourage our guests to see this as a way of contributing to the protection of the planet and the beautiful area where they are holidaying.

Anfitrión: Villas Crete Holidays

Zeus Bay Villa is exclusively booked by Villas Crete Holidays which is a registered Tourist Office, based in Hampshire, England and Almyrida, Crete. Whilst most travel companies cover many different countries and/or areas of Greece and Crete, we at Villas Crete Holidays only work in the North West of Crete and we specialise in the Apokoranas region, just east of the historic Venetian town of Chania. The Apokoronas (including the villages of Almyrida, Kalives, Kokkino Horio, Plaka and Gavalohori) has long been a popular destination for holiday makers seeking a typically Greek seaside resort area that has many amenities, but is far removed from brash tourism. The area is renowned for its sandy beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, stunning views of Souda Bay and The White Mountains, excellent tavernas, and archaeological sites.
The director of Villas Crete Holidays is Frankie Miles. She has worked with rental villas on Crete for more than 20 years and has written the best selling guide book "Crete on the Road". The book includes detailed directions and information to all the major tourist attractions, as well as many hidden sites. Also in the book is the only existing map of the National Highway showing all of the entrances/exits and distances.
Both the company itself, and Frankie's book have been featured and recommended in articles in major British newspapers including the Sunday Mail and the Sunday Telegraph, as well as smaller publications such as Greece Magazine.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad
This is the most popular of all of the villas that we handle. It books up well in advance because it is not only very beautiful, with such good amenities, but it is also very private and with fabulous views.
Despite the good privacy Zeus Bay Villa is only 1km from the shops, and tavernas in Plaka. You can walk on a country track, through olive groves to have a delicious meal and a drink (or two) without worrying about driving home.
It is very rare to find a villa on Crete that has any form of pool heating but Zeus Bay Villa does have solar panels to help boost the water temperature. Whilst this form of heating does entirely depend upon the amount of sun each day, and the air temperature at night, it is better than a pool without any form of heating because they are decidedly chilly.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad
All of our villa owners employ a local house manager who you can call should you need any help at the villa itself.
We, at Villas Crete Holidays can help you with all aspects of your holiday including good value, reliable car hire, airport transfers, local information about shops, beaches, tavernas etc, detailed driving directions or walking directions for many routes. We can also arrange private boat hire, private boat trips, private sight-seeing flights, horse riding, water-skiing, big game fishing, guided walking, and guided coach excursions. Our office staff speak English, Greek, and a little French, and have a vast list of local contacts.
Most importantly, because we handle many villas, in the unlikely event that there is an unforeseen problem at your villa, we can usually offer you an alternative villa (although this cannot be guaranteed in high season).
We have many years experience working in tourism on Crete, and most importantly this experience is specifically related to villa rentals. We use all of our knowledge and local contacts to ensure that your holiday goes off smoothly from start to finish, from first booking the villa that is most suitable for you, to your arrival back home.
When you are in resort we are available by phone during office hours for information, and we have an automated answering service should you have a medical emergency out of hours.
