We loved this property. Just the sort of place we like and immediately felt at home . Stunning views and the sound of the sea. Lots of good walks. A very enjoyable stay.

What a locationThe area is stunning. Lovely walks with our dog, loved our stay.The property has prime views, and a lovely patio area to sit and relax.The property was clean. The heating hot water and bath shower were perfect.The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, and the bedrooms were clean and comfortable.We were so impressed with the overall property and location, that we are planning on returning next year.Cannot fault anything in any way Hope Cove and this property are real hidden gems .

A wonderful location with stunning views, well appointed and very comfortable beds. I would suggest you take your own casserole dish and frying pan plus more drying up towels. I recommend Starboard for a relaxing holiday

Fantastic ocean views and comfortable property. Other reviews have mentioned somewhat tired kitchen and furniture but the beds are comfy and the bed linen is good quality. Watching the seals in the bay was a first for us, this and the views together with the proximity of the beach and a superb pub/restaurant means we would recommend this property without hesitation.

Always a joy to stay in this unique home. Probably the best weather we have ever had in Hope Cove over the May Bank Holiday week, producing some extraordinary sunsets across the bay. For other visitors please note that the Lobster Pods don't open until late June, so the Cove and the Hope & Anchor were super busy. In fact, the latter was turning away anyone without an advance booking... The Cove was inundated with takeaway orders by those choosing to stay on the beach in the Mediterranean-style evening weather. Bantham beach and car park looked like the halcyon days of the 1970s when we visited on the Sunday, the overflow car park was almost full and the beach was teeming with activity. Wonderful to see, We prepared a lot of our own food, stocked the fridges with a variety of drinks and had the best seats in the whole area, sitting on the terrace in the glorious evening sunshine. We also had a visit from a pod of 4 dolphins swimming past the Shippen Thank you again

Fabulous

Beautiful property which lived up to expectations. Excellent space indoors, and a wonderful outdoor paved area overlooking the cove, but entirely private. We had two parking spaces.

Great Cottage with Great Views

Very good two bedroom cottage/ bungalow. Good kitchen-dining- living area. Two shower rooms. Low key style - relaxing - seaside. God patio. Parking. Access via narrow lane. Short walk to pub & restaurants. Great place.

The most amazing location

This is a perfect get away location. Breathtaking views, two pubs nearby and very comfortable. WiFi was intermittent at times but with the views and seals keeping us entertained it wasn’t a big problem. We did let the owners know about it not being clean and they were going to rectify this with the company they used. 100% would stay again it’s idilic.

Superb views and incredible sunsets

2nd visit to Starboard and it works really well for us. Weather was a bit mixed, but it’s so close to the beach, restaurants and post office it’s no problem to make the most of sunny spells. Even on a full of wet day, the views are captivating. Comfortable beds, good open plan living space, fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso coffee maker (don’t forget your pods) . Easy load in and out, car parking space backs up to the terrace, close to the sliding doors of the lounge. Very easy place to enjoy a relaxing break

sunny sunsets

the property is in a fantastic position and had everything that we needed. I took my 92 year old mother and it was perfect being on one level and having an easy access shower. She was able to enjoy looking out over the sea from all angles. I had the perfect spot for painting and my patner had easy access to fishing, sadly no fish!!!! but had back up sasages from our favourite local farm shop

Winter bliss in a stormy week

We enjoyed our stay in the Starboard accommodation overlooking Hope Cove very much indeed. It felt more spacious than advertised, was clean and well equipped with one or two minor exceptions. Despite the stormy weather, we enjoyed the expansive views over sea and managed daily walks to the beaches below. The house was well heated and the beds comfortable - a King size double in one room and 3/4 single beds in the other. The two bathrooms were very good and hot water was plentiful. We can highly recommend this property, there is no better location in Hope Cove.

Wonderful views

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The view is breathtaking and if you catch a sunset even more so. The accommodation is fine if a little worn around the edges but no big deal. The only things to point out to potential guests is that the WiFi is very slow even by Hope Cove standards. Not sure if there was an issue with it but something to be aware of. In addition there is no freezer just a small ice box at the top of one of the fridges. Worth bearing in mind if you do an online shopping order with frozen items. A handbook for the property would also be useful. After a few days we worked out that we could Bluetooth our phones to the sound system ( via trial and error) so could enjoy some music. We would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding location, stunning views

Really spacious house all on one level. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, which was great. Master bedroom has very comfortable superking bed, 4 singles in bedroom 2. Great Kitchen/dining/living room with big sofas, farmhouse table, plenty of fridge space etc. All the rooms (apart from bathrooms) faced the sea, with views of Inner and Outer Hope Cove, Bigbury Bay across to Burgh Island, and as far as Plymouth on a clear day, with Eddystome lighthouse visible at night. Big south-west facing terrace with table and chairs, sliding doors into the lounge, so really easy to get outside when the sun appeared. Living area was just as good on the wet days, watching the waves roll in and the family of seals visiting the harbour. Short walk (3 minutes) to all beaches, Cove bar/restaurant (good food) and Hope & Anchor pub (which we didn't try this time) . Allocated car space was very close to front door and patio door, so really easy to get in and out. We have booked again for 2024 , we've been coming to Hope Cove for many years, this was one of the best places to enjoy the amazing views. Owner was very friendly, responsive and helpful with my questions. Thank you for sharing your unique house.
