Perfecto para relajantes vacaciones familiares.

Particularmente adecuado para padres agotados con niños que necesitan entretenimiento, aire fresco y actividades.

La cabaña es ligera, tranquila y una excelente base después de un día en la playa. A la vuelta de la esquina hay impresionantes paseos rurales, excelentes restaurantes; Playa de Bantham, el aire del mar, el surf y todo tipo de actividades al aire libre. El Sloop Inn está a unos 0. 4 millas de distancia y a menudo paseamos para cenar con los niños. Es muy familiar.

Hay un famoso campo de golf en Thurlestone, que está a solo una milla de distancia, y hay pubs ingleses antiguos y maravillosos repartidos por los pueblos vecinos.

En el edificio anexo, dejamos una colección de bicicletas maltratadas y trajes de neopreno viejos que puede usar. También tenemos una tienda de troncos que está bien surtida, y puedes servirte para el fuego de la noche. Siempre dejamos una variedad de libros, juegos de mesa y DVD para cualquier día lluvioso.

Playa, playa, surf, paseos por el campo, ciclismo, pubs, tienda local del pueblo (excelente café y cruasanes), gastrobus en Bantham (maravillosa comida fría y caliente para comer en la playa). Un poco más lejos está Kingsbridge para ir de compras (aproximadamente 4 millas) y Salcombe (aproximadamente 6 millas). Un ferry circula entre Kingsbridge y Salcombe, lo que lo convierte en un excelente día.

En la casa de campo, hay 4 dormitorios. Dos dobles (ambas con camas Kingsize); una gemela y una individual. Hay dos baños, un jardín para jugar y un gran patio para estacionar. El patio es privado y no compartido.

Es una comunidad increíblemente amigable. Lo encontrarás muy acogedor. El pub local sabe casi todo lo que vale la pena saber. El puerto deportivo local en Bantham a menudo alberga reuniones divertidas, pero lo que más me gusta es la sensación de paz, tranquilidad y risas que parece generar esta impresionante zona de South Hams.

Moverse

La estación de trenes más cercana se encuentra en Ivybridge (a unas 13 millas de distancia) con servicios más rápidos y frecuentes que van desde Totnes (a unas 16 millas de distancia). Hay servicios rápidos y directos desde Londres a Plymouth (a unos 27 kilómetros de distancia).

Sin embargo, en realidad, es mucho, mucho más práctico tener un automóvil.

Otras cosas a tener en cuenta

La entrada al patio es bastante estrecha (ver foto). Todos los salones, descapotables, automóviles de lujo y la mayoría de los 4x4 estarán absolutamente bien. Sin embargo, aquellos con vehículos 4x4 muy grandes o grandes transportadores de personas encontrarán bastante difícil entrar y salir del patio, mucho mejor en un automóvil familiar.

Hidden gem

Lovely cottage, full of character and in a fantastic location walkable to Bantham beach and The Sloop Inn (good food and ale). Adam and Jemma were super welcoming, responsive and helpful. Well stocked kitchen and everything we needed for a fun and relaxing family holiday.

Lovely spring break

Really lovely cottage with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The girls ( all teens) loved using the bikes to shoot off down the lanes ! Bantham beach and messing around on SUP boards on the estuary were great ( very warm wetsuits for hire on beach) Salcombe is a lovely place for a visit .

Great family holiday house close to beach and local pub

Comfortable well equipped characterful holiday house perfect for a family holiday. Walking distance to the Sloop Inn and beach ( but short drive and car park better option with beach stuff)other beaches short distance away. Hugely generous hosts - communication with them was warm and enthusiastic. The shed is an Aladdin’s cave of beach essentials- wet suits, buckets and spades , body boards etc plus lots of bikes. As stated the courtyard entrance can be a challenge but can be mastered and parking on the top road possible. Thanks for a great holiday experience

Little Gem

Extremely clean and very comfortable cottage in fabulous location. Well equipped kitchen. So nice to have good quality linen in a holiday home! Very small problem we had in the house was sorted immediately by the very welcoming owners. Fabulous week.

Well Cottage

Beautiful, artistically furnished, quiet & secluded cottage, set in a great area. Really well appointed and kind usage of wet suits, bikes, etc. Tight access into courtyard for a big car, but very private.

Fabulous farmhouse

We had a wonderful week staying at Huish house. The setting was absolutely idyllic, total peace and quiet but very close to stunning beaches and charming villages. Sue was extremely welcoming, offering help at the drop of a hat but not intrusive at all. The farmhouse was perfect for a large family gathering. It was extremely well equipped and felt completely like home. It was so difficult to leave, we just wanted to stay forever! Thanks Sue.

Well Cottage is a fabulous place to stay.

Well Cottage is beautifully appointed but it is all the finishing touches that make it so very special. The owners, Adam & Jemma, have gone to a lot of trouble to ensure that their guests stays are as comfortable & enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend it.

just returned from a lovely family holiday at Well Cottage. Very cozy house, met all our needs!!

We had a lovely family Summer holiday at Well Cottage. Excellent communication from the owner. The Cottage itself was very cosy and meet all our needs. Very peaceful location and private courtyard. Ten, fifteen minute walk to the local Pub the Sloop. Another five minutes and then your at the beach. We made use of the wet suits in the shed which happened to fit all our children and my husband. Overall an excellent stay. Thank you Jemma and Adam. Eimear and family.

Really lovely cottage where the owners have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to ensure that their guests stay is enjoyable as possible. Lots of extras, the bikes were a God send to us. We would definitely book again and recommend it highly.

Fantastic location and cottage

We had a really lovely stay at the cottage, the location was great (near the beach and pub but also very pretty) accommodation space wise was good, and had everything you could need in the kitchen/bedrooms/lounge We are a family of 5 but could have easily had another couple staying as well.

A memorable break

Beautiful cottage in a quiet hamlet close to Bantham which was equipped to a very high standard. Great communication including a well produced information sheet from Jemma the owner. The welcome pack was a thoughtful touch. Lovely scenery and very easy to pick up the nearby coastal path for walking. Just a 5 minute walk to the local pub, The Sloop. Friendly and served great food and ale. All in all the stay couldn't have been better and was helped by amazing weather.

Stunning house. So cosy and had everything we could possibly need. We'll definitely go back.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay. The kids loved the house and we had the fire lit every night which made the house so toasty. The shed was packed with an array of beach equipment so no need to take anything. Perfect location too, so quiet and peaceful yet a short walk from the pub and shop and beach. Perfect.

Brilliantly located cosy cottage.

We arrived to a perfectly immaculate house in a great location of West Buckland. Good layout and everything we needed for our short stay. It is close to Bantham beach and Thurlestone, beautiful walks & great coffee, hot chocolates & amazing cheese burgers from the funky camper vans in the beach carpark!. House had a lovely efficient log burner which roared away, lots of logs and hot water. Great selection of DVDs and books. Owners very accommodating and helpful along the way - so a very happy New Year had by all! highly recommend this holiday home.

Great cottage, lovely break.

A lovely stay in a well equipped homely cottage which was well sized for our family get together. We had a great time in the cottage which felt homely and had everything we needed and more. Was great to be able to use the buckets & spades from the shed, our girls were very happy to go build sand castles on our Christmas break ! Beautiful area & the beach was amazing. Great location - great cottage

beautiful cottage for a relaxing stay

We visit Bantham annually and highly recommend this beautiful cottage for a relaxing stay, with easy access to all the village’s amenities. The cottage is very prettily decorated, with comfortable beds, wood burning stove and a well-stocked kitchen. It is clearly not just a holiday home for the owners but a second home with a cottage fully equipped and a high attention to detail. Hosts Jemma and Adam were particularly helpful, and very prompt to answer our every query; from offering us bikes for the children to allowing our cat to accompany us. The location is perfect, with Bantham beach and the famous Sloop pub a half mile stroll away. The children, my wife and I had a wonderful, relaxing week away and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this cottage to families looking for the same.

Beautiful cottage in great location

We have just returned from a fantastic week at this idyllic cottage. The owners were exceptionally nice and their genuine care that guests enjoy their cottage was very apparent. The cottage is decorated beautifully - there is a log burner in the sitting room and the kitchen is well equipped. The owners have an outside shed full of everything you could want in terms of wetsuits, buckets and spades, body boards, bikes and there are two great beaches nearby - Bantham, which is great for surfing, and Thurlestone. We also visited Burgh Island and Salcombe which are both reached with only a short car journey. The Sloop Inn which is about a 15 min walk away is very nice. We will definitely be returning to the cottage and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Our Devonian Christmas!

A beautiful cottage which is tucked away in a very tranquil spot. It is warm, very cosy and remarkably well equipped. Ample sleeping arrangements for seven are very well catered for and most importantly, the mattresses and bedding are good quality and particularly comfortable. Jemma and Adam were great hosts and were always on hand to answer queries in a very helpful and prompt manner. They are a fountain of knowledge on what to do, places to visit and dine etc. They were very kind in leaving some bits in the kitchen cupboards too, which added to the home from home feeling.
