Lucca experience was wonderful
We used this location as the hub for meeting up with two other couples (and one car) to explore the areas of Lucca, Cinque Terre, Pisa and Florence using mostly the trains. Can’t say enough about the cost and ease of traveling by train compared to car rental but it was nice to have one for the distance from the house to the walled city. A bit of traffic noise and busy commute route most days. Also It was a much further walk than we had hoped but there are some bikes there and a bus for €2.50 one way when your legs get tired. Not a great area for eating out (on foot) but great selection of grocery stores very close by. We prepared a lot of simple meals and found the kitchen well supplied for that. Especially loved the Lavazza espresso machine and full-sized coffee drip machine in the mornings with six adults! Comfortable beds, clean washrooms, plenty of towels and blankets and very good communication with owners and management. I would suggest a tune up of the bikes as one had no brakes left and another no steering. But a good house, attractive and well situated for a Tuscany tour home base.
Thank you very much for your review. We are very glaid that you have spent so well your holidays. We hope to see you soon another time!
The 8 of us had a great time! The house was clean, cool and comfortable!! A relaxing place to come home to each night! We weren’t aware that all bedrooms are either on the 2nd or 3rd floor but we were able to manage!
Thank you Patrizia and Guiana for a great stay and all of your help!!
Thanks for your positive feedback,I realy appreciate it. Looking forward to welcoming you again to Anthea home in the near future...... thanks a lot
Wonderful stay in Lucca
My family of 5 enjoyed our 6-night stay at this beautiful home in Lucca. Each of the kids was able to have their own bedroom, which was a nice change from the hotels where we stayed during the rest of our vacation. The grocery store was very convenient and the kitchen was well-stocked, even though we ended up not cooking as much as we'd thought. Having both a washer AND dryer was great so that we could do some much needed laundry. We really appreciated the use of the bikes to ride into Lucca and around the walls. Parking was great for the first 4 nights but then someone came along and parked in front of the house the last two nights. We were able to find parking in the free parking lot just a short walk away so it wasn't a problem. We took the train in to Florence two days, drove to Pisa one morning, drove to Volterra another day and La Spezia/Cinque Terre another day. The location is very convenient to the train station and the Autostrade so it made a really nice home base. We loved Lucca and would love to return!
Thank you very much for these nice words.I thank you for choosing my home. Thanks a lot, all the best to you a and to your family.
Nicely restored/renovated, all the amenities we needed
Patrizia was a wonderful host. She and her assistant, Mr. Iacopo, met us at the house upon arrival and gave us a very thorough walkthrough of the entire house and gave us directions to all of the parking at the wall as well as a “map” of the restaurants and groceries within walking distance. There were also four very nice bicycles to use - a great way to get around the city. An enjoyable week at the house. We liked being just far enough from the center city walls to be away from all the tourists, but close enough to walk (less than a mile) or drive in 5 minutes and park at the wall. The bathrooms were wonderfully done, as was the kitchen. The only thing I would recommend adding to the house is more lighting for reading ( larger lamps in the bedrooms and another floor lamp in the living room) and putting a larger skylight in the one dark bedroom.
We would absolutely return to Lucca and this house in the future.
I'm very glad that your stay in my house was pleasant and comfortable, i hope I still have you my guests in the future,
Patrizia e Andrea
Good comfortable house
All facilities good- beds comfortable, showers work, kitchen good. Only slight downside is that car parking is on-street and unreserved. Not a problem in practice.
Thank you so much David, and good luck to you and your friends!
Convenient location to town and shopping. Bedrooms are on 3 floors.Steep stairwell.
Not recommended for patrons with limited mobility. Bedroom nicely appointed comfortable beds and good A/C
Kitchen well equipped.
Problem is the presence of mildew and mold on the first floor, coming from the laundry room. Odor and Stench would not go away in spite of cooking and baking often. But smell is not present on the upper floors.
Host was punctual to receive us and helpful with ample information about the location.
The house is independent and very wide. You can see from the description and photos that there are stairs, so you can work out that the house is not suitable for people with limited mobility. Concerning the smell (there aren’t any mildew or mold), it is there because the laundry on the ground floor is a bit far from the kitchen and doesn’t have windows. The dryer makes humidity when it’s on. As I said to you, all you had to do was to let the door open and make circulate the air with windows open. By the way, I’m happy that, all considered, you liked the house.
the location is ideal for families and couples who loves to be at liberty in a large space cozy and tastefully furnished.
Lucca is in a strategic position to discover Tuscany, a few minutes from the house you reach the highway and the train station, Pisa, Viareggio, Florence, are far

The historic city center is closed to traffic, so you can visit it on foot or by bicycle. For those coming by car, there are many car parks both outside the walls and along the wall path, connected to the historical center by buses and shuttles. Lucca offers plenty of parking spaces both inside and outside the historic center:
