Waterfront property includes use of private dock, infinity beach pit and 2 kayaks. GRIF's GETAWAY is a cozy, fully furnished, vintage inspired cottage that has been recently renovated, with 2 bedrooms and 1 large 4 pc bath that includes everything you will need to get away for a weekend or longer to re-energize yourself! Two bedrooms include antique queen beds with foam toppers and vintage linens (you won't want to get out of bed!), closet space with shelves to hold your suitcases/belongings with an additional queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Foam topper, linens and blankets also included for the sleeper sofa. Total sleeping to accommodate 6 comfortably. Surrounded by trees, the calmness of the outdoors and tranquility overlooking beautiful Lake Hawkins is unmatched! Watch the sun rise over the lake with your morning coffee, then wind down in the evening having s'mores at the firepit as the sun sets. Enjoy the private boat dock for securing a boat, or to fish, swim, kayak or just chill overlooking the lake. Outdoor furniture (table and chairs) on the house deck and on the dock provided. Includes a Gas Grill and a Weber Charcoal grill on the deck if you choose to cook or enjoy the fully stocked kitchen inside. Taking a walk each morning is a treat! Everyone on the lake is so friendly and looking out for each other. Vintage charm is everywhere in the cottage from the painted wood floor living room with fireplace, beadboard walls/ceiling, multiple quilts throughout, bathroom sink vanity and other decor. Eat in kitchen for 2 or dining table for 6 available. A well-behaved pet is welcome with a NR $50 fee. You'll want "our place" to be "your place" for your next getaway!

Lake Hawkins is a very clear, spring-fed lake with beautiful winding roads and hills - perfect for walking, bicycling or motorcycling. Great nature-watching, including hawks, bald eagles, ducks, grey herons - all kind of wild birds, deer, foxes, squirrels and rabbits. Good bass, crappie, and bream fishing! A public beach at Lake Hawkins County Park is down the road, just a few minutes away.

GRIF's GETAWAY at Lake Hawkins is 15 miles from Mineola, TX on Highway 80 West, which has unique shops and great places to eat. The Mineola Nature Preserve is over 2900 acres of pristine nature! If you head down Highway 80 East, you will arrive at Gladewater, known as the Antique Capital of East Texas (one of our favorite places to spend the day shopping and eating). A fabulous Italian restaurant, Rima's Taste of Italy, is within walking distance of the cottage, on the lake and is absolutely a must!
