Hi! My name is Yasmine and my parents own 4 Mana Kai condos that I help rent and manage for them. I live in Washington State where my husband is in law enforcement and we have a few acres for our horses, chickens, and 3 boys to run wild. We've been married 15 years and love to travel, but it's getting harder now with the demands of school, sports, and music lessons. We still try to get to Maui at least twice a year though, with or without the kids!
Yasmine purchased this Condo in 2008
Why Yasmine chose Maui
My parents discovered the Mana Kai when I was young--probably about 7 or 8 years old--and then we became annual visitors, spending almost every spring break there until I graduated from High School. Then on their 35th wedding anniversary trip to Wailea, my parents got nostalgic and decided to invest in the resort that brought us so many happy memories. My siblings and I would spend hours on this beach, boogie boarding, body surfing, and playing in the sand. My Dad says there is a sort of 'magic' about this spot. We explored the rest of Maui and the other Hawaiian islands, but always kept coming back here. The combination of the angle and height of the building, sunny weather, and the family friendly beach makes it a unique spot on Maui. Also, the Mana Kai has become a fabulous resort with wonderful upgrades and amenities. I truly feel blessed to be able to share this piece of heaven with my children now.
What makes this Condo unique
You just can't beat the view, every time we come it takes our breath away. We also love hearing the crash of the ocean waves, and often sleep with only the screen door shut so we can fall asleep to it. Jason likes to get up early, and every morning I would wake to see him on the lanai, sipping guava juice and watching the ocean. As a kid, I remember arriving at the Mana Kai and rushing through the lobby and onto the beach before my parents even had the luggage out of the car. Sometimes renters ask me, 'how far do we have to walk to the beach?', and I'm always so glad to answer that question: 'Just through the lobby, past the pool, and you're THERE!'

Best spot in South Maui
Overall amazing place! Sunset view, snorkeling, heated pool, Five Palms restaurant, and convenience store, rentals for water sports, closeby parking, and yoga. Comfy bedding and clean, updated unit.
Great condo on a great beach
This condo delivers as advertised. You get the sweet suite views of the beach while lying in the master bed or sitting in the living room. You can walk for a mile along a great sandy beach. You can snorkel, swim or boggie board on the beach right in front of the hotel. Nice but expensive restaurant on the property and a small convenience store. For a resort the pool is small but it is clean and rarely occupied. We called it "our private pool". The only downsides are no laundry in the unit (there are machines down the hall for $3 a load) and smallish living room. But if you want to sit inside and do laundry maybe this isn't the best unit for you!
Great location, terrific amenities, amazing view
The Mana Kai is a great place to stay when visiting on Maui. We have been coming to this resort for many years now and often rent from this owner. We will be back for sure.... We did have some maintenance issues this year but the owner's representative was quick to respond and most things were dealt with in a very timely fashion, including the delivery of a brand new toaster when ours broke. Missing Maui already....
This is our second vist to the manakai. We love it!
The manakai Maui is a great family spot in Kihei. We like it because it's a smaller complex not as touristy as kanapali side. It has a great beach for snorkling, swimming and is kid friendly. There are also a lot of great local places to eat. We will definitely stay there again.
We really enjoyed our time in unit 304, Thank you!
Wonderful Stay with AMAZING VIEWS in a well kept unit!
Breathtaking! This is how you want to see Maui. A nice lava rock view on one side and a wonderul beach on the other. This place had a store, a restaurant, and the most amazing views! The kids got in the pool, but only once as the beach was just steps from the property.
The drive up to Lahaina was a little long, but if you stay down here you get great bodyboarding waves and a little more privacy than the west beaches.
We never had to fight for a spot on this beach, it never felt crowded.
We were happy to have an assigned parking spot, but the parking lot was not full even as such.
A few streets over we found 2 wonderful food trucks and brought the food back to our room to watch a gorgeous sunset! People sit out and watch the sunset each night on the grassy area.
The unit itself had 2 A/C units. We stayed in the secondary room with the rocks view so we could have our own private A/C. My kids got the beachfront view which they enjoyed. The sliding doors to the master weren't really made for privacy, but it certainly did open up the space and allow an area to mill about and look out the lanai windows. The whole wall was a window and with views like that you want it that way!
How I wish we had stayed on Maui after the Big Island because the next island rental was a let-down after Maui. Thanks so much!!!
The Mana Kai is located ON Keawakapu beach-- a wonderfully sandy beach that doesn't get crazy-crowded. It is ideal for swimming, boogie boarding, and snorkeling. It is on the Southern and sunniest part of the island where the turtles and dolphins like to be. During certain months it is spectacular for whale-watching.
