About this property

Lavender Row, Stedham

This charming cottage was built in 1871 in the historic village of Stedham. A wonderful rural location with great walks from the door, also within walking distance is the village pub. There are three bedrooms, two double, one single sleeping five guests in total. Welcome to Lavender Row Holiday Cottage in Stedham, near Midhurst. The cottage is situated within the South Downs National Park in West Sussex, offering self-catering accommodation for up to 5 guests. Stedham is a very picturesque country village, with a pub, village green and great walking from the door. Five minutes drive away is the charming town of Midhurst, which has a great selection of local shops. This cottage is close to several attractions including Goodwood, Petworth, Cowdray polo and golf course.

The cottage has a bright and spacious feel. Downstairs is the kitchen with an open-plan dining area, followed by a separate living room with a log fire.

Upstairs, the bedroom enjoys views of the National park. There is one single bedroom, a master bedroom with a king-sized bed, and a third bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom consists of a toilet, bath, and shower (over bath).
There is an enclosed private garden to the rear of the cottage and a parking space in front of the house.

The original part of the cottage was built in 1780 with a stone wall. Due to the modern central heading and double-glazed window, there can be evidence of damp where the hot air condenses on the walls. If any member of your party is sensitive to damp, it was advised not to book in this property.

Lovely log fire, easy access to wonderful green fields for dog walking, lovely enclosed garden. Very comfy beds! Nice and spacious with plenty of room. Great base for exploring the area, super walks on Stedham common, very friendly locals. Thank you for leaving some kindling so we could start the fire on the first night. Nice to have towels included and lots of useful kitchen and bathroom items. Home from home! We will definitely be back for another stay

The village of Stedham has an old historic center, with a small village green with surrounding charming cottages. There is a beautiful large grassy space at the edge of the village and adjacent to the cottage. Once used as polo pitches, a footpath crosses this peaceful spot overlooking the South Downs. Stedham common has larger regions to roam over open heathland over the A272.
Five minutes drive away is Midhurst, an ancient Town with central portions of Tudor origin. The town has a number of cafes and small restaurants as well as a mini supermarket and garage, Cowdray park, castle ruins and golf course.
