This is a unique opportunity to experience an Inverness cottage of your own. It is located on six acres stretching along the beginning of Tomales Bay. Enjoy gardens, flowers, orchard, marshes and year-round creek. There is an abundant variety of birds and wildlife.
Tomales Bay is at your back door, providing endless vistas of beauty and interest. Enjoy the ever-changing flow of water and quality of light. As the tide rises, take in the reflection of sky and rolling hills from the opposite shore, or the full moon rising over Black Mountain. The views are expansive.
As the tide recedes, watch for the variety of birds foraging for food along the shore, or footprints of deer as they move through the area. You may enjoy the view from the living room, outdoor deck, or sitting at the edge of the bay.
The cottage is approximately 3 miles from the Point Reyes National Seashore visitor Center, and just 2 miles from the town of Inverness.

Tranquility at Inverness Cove
Spotless, well lit, completely outfitted cottage couldn’t be cozier or more relaxing. Birds abound, in the charming garden, in the alders and on the wetland. Pure enjoyment, comfort and convenience!
Serenity awaits you!
A spacious, comfy, cozy cottage with large windows overlooking a picture postcard view of marshlands and coastal hills! Although close to great hiking and excellent restaurants, this cottage has the rare feeling of being an island of peace in the midst of the natural world.
We look forward to returning and so will you.
Thank you for taking the time to post such a positive review! Frankly, I sometimes feel envious of guests who stay at the cottage this time of year because there is so much bird activity and the hills are so lush and green. It really does seem magical. I'm so glad you had a lovely and relaxing time at my cottage!
Beautiful view of hills
This is a cozy and well-equipped cottage with a wonderful clear view of the hills around Pt Reyes. We liked our stay very much and hope to return.
Thank you Ruth! I feel so fortunate to be able to share this cottage by the bay with its awesome views of the hills, now green with patches of mustard flowers. It is my goal to share it with those who truly appreciate nature. I hope you can return soon!
A true gem of a cottage. A real get away
Wow! We loved our stay. This cottage was exactly the medicine we needed for the stress of our daily lives. It had everything we could possibly need and the setting is incomparable. The views are stunning and we were constantly commenting on the beauty and wildlife. We feel refreshed and want to come back regularly to recharge. Thanks!
Thank you! My intention is to provide guests with a place where they can de-stress and absorb the healing energy and wonder of nature that surrounds the cottage so I very much appreciate your taking the time to post your experience. I hope you can return soon!
Perfect location. Beautiful retreat
Love Louise's house. Perfect retreat in an incredible location. Comfortable, well-equipped. Beautiful views of the marsh morning and evening. Ducks, egrets, ospreys. Special place
I'm so glad you could return and enjoy the birds, wildlife and nature at the cottage. It is my goal to provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere from which to enjoy the wonders of nature here just outside the door. I very much appreciate your comments.
Peaceful, comfortable, and perfectly stocked, this vacation rental is truly a gem. I hope to be visiting many more times in the future.
The Point Reyes/Inverness area has much to offer visitors. Besides beautiful hiking trails, The Point Reyes National Seashore, the Giacomini Wetlands Restoration Project and the Tomales Bay State Park, there are some wonderful shops and restaurants in the area. West Marin is full of people who appreciate growing and serving fresh vegetables and excellent organic food, so the restaurants and food shops offer a wide range of interesting, local cuisine, cheese, and wines. Additionally we are blessed with a wonderful bookstore and many unique gift shops and galleries.
