The view grabs you from the moment you pull into the driveway. Once inside it simply captivates you. Equally remarkable is the historic town of Dahlonega itself, with its quintessential courthouse square. Our home, about 7 miles north of town, is perched on the side of Cedar Mountain. Settle into a wicker rocker on our porch with your morning cup of coffee and watch the sun climbing over Yonah Mountain and the Appalachian foothills. Enjoy the ease of our electronic Keyless entry system!
Great restaurants, live theater, antiquing and panning for gold are just a few of the things to do while you're here. Just a quick turn off the Dahlonega Wine Trail, our home is a perfect place to stay if you are planning to take a tour or attend an event. Then, there's also the hiking, waterfalls, truly amazing twisties, rafting, not to mention the exciting new North Georgia Canopy Tours in nearby Lula.
The house is a flexible combination of three suites, each with it's own stunning view and separate entrance. Carson's Run is a very unique home that can accommodate up to twelve in for a wedding party, family reunion or group vacation. Need something smaller? Each suite can be rented on its own. Call us for details on renting just what you need.
The Phoenix Suite sleeps up to six guests. The Gathering Room features a sitting area in front of a fieldstone fireplace on one side, perfect for curling up with a great book. On game day, or movie night, the TV area with it's 46' Wide screen, is the place to be. One of the two sofas is also a queen size pull-out. This unit has a fully outfitted kitchen with adjoining dining room. A large sultry Master Suite with king size brass bed also provides a cozy sitting area for a bit of peace and quiet. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and can be accessed from the master bedroom if needed. Out on the screen porch, you'll find a daybed and a few rocking chairs; a nice place to get together at the end of the day. Also on the porch we have a dining spot. You can serve dinner right from the grill as the sun sets.
The Fireside Suite conveniently adjoins the Phoenix on the same level. This small romantic suite with private bath and separate entrance features a queen size iron bed right in front of a gas fireplace. There is a screened porch for morning coffee that you can prepare in your own very neat mini-kitchen.
On the lower level, the Mystic Suite adds a queen bed as well as a queen pull-out sleep sofa in the sitting area. This suite has a country modern feel with an eclectic combination of antiques and collected pieces. A fully equipped kitchen comes outfitted right down to the salt, pepper, sugar and Splenda. About Steve and Melissa Moore
Melissa and Steve currently live in Rhode Island and plan to relocate to Dahlonega in five years. An interior designer with a degree in business management, coupled with a passionate motorcyclist and property manager, make up this team. Steve stumbled into Dahlonega on a motorcycle trip with a couple of buddies in 1995. The postcard to Melissa that day read, 'You've just got to see this town!'. Ten years later they headed down to Georgia to scout retirement possibilities. Motoring from town to town, Steve had saved the stay in Dahlonega for last. It was love at first sight. The house on Cedar Mountain was one of the homes suggested during a chance stop into a real estate office. One of those "just for fun" things to do. A year later, the Moore's had a house in Georgia on their hands.
Steve and Melissa Moore purchased this House in 2006
Why Steve and Melissa Moore chose Dahlonega
We chose Dahlonega because when we are here, we feel like we have stepped back in time, a time before fast-food and super highways. Dahlonega is a place where people really do say Hi! to folks they have never met. It's a place to live out our life where living is the part that matters. There's a kinship between North Georgia and the landscape of New England. Here, we can enjoy the warmer weather without giving up the changing seasons.
What makes this House unique
The house itself is unique, in that it is made up of three interconnected suites, each with it's own character. Families can spend time together catching up, while enjoying the privacy a stand alone cabin offers. Separate entrances let everyone come and go as they please without disturbing the others in the group.

Nice cabin with a great view
If you are looking for a place to wake up and just be amazed with the view, this is it. Cabin is perfect for 4 couples. We did have a problem with the water not having enough pressure, but the owners send in the plumbers and fixed the problem (clogged water filter from the well). I give it 2 thumbs up!
Great for families with adult children
Perfect set up for families with adult children and grand children. Everyone has their own space with a large common area.
Fantastic place with an awesome view!!
Carson's Run is a wonderful place to stay. Our son's wedding was at Monteluce Winery so we stayed at Carson's Run for the weekend. The accommodations were great for all 4 couples. The scenery was breathtaking. We highly recommend this place! There's so much to do in the area. The town of Dahlonega was so quaint and lovely. Thanks Steve and Melissa. We will be back soon!
Beautiful and roomy
Carson's Run is a unique house with at least 3 separate areas you can rent. We rented the entire house for our group and had plenty of room to sleep and move around. It has a beautiful view out the back from anywhere in the house. The house was clean and is nicely decorated and had all the kitchen and bath items we needed. The owners were very nice and prompt in responding to inquiries. We would definitely rent again if we travel to this area of Georgia.
