We had an excellent stay in this beautiful house. We were incredibly lucky with the weather the week we stayed so made lots of use of the stunning garden which is a great size! The hosts were lovely and easy to communicate with too! We definitely hope to return in the near future.
Penybryn is simply perfect. Total peace and quiet, with everything you could want in a setting of amazing beauty -- watch the weather over the mountains, watch the animals, relax and do nothing, or explore more of North Wales. Gwerfyl and Mark are great hosts. We had a wonderul week and would love to come back again -- this is one of the very best places that we have stayed in in Wales.

Thank you so much for your lovely words, you were the perfect guests and I’m glad that Penybryn made you feel relaxed and welcomed. We would love to see you both again and a safe journey back to the US.
Spent a very relaxing week with the family at Pen y Bryn. Mark and Gwerfyl were excellent hosts - they live next door so are on hand if you need anything, but left us to ourselves after welcoming us and showing us around. The house is well appointed and comfortable, and the remote location with views up to Cadair Idris means it’s a great place to get away from it all. Although it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, Dolgellau is only 15 minutes drive, and there’s a pub a short walk away. The only downside of the remoteness was the speed of the wifi - don’t expect a fast connection for remote working or streaming. We’d love to stay again, if we can get a booking!
Locals born and bred, running a smallholding with a handful of sheep, one solitary hen and two black cats, plus a Christmas tree farm. Hoping to provide an authentic and enjoyable holiday experience in the Welsh hills.

What makes this property unique
In the foothills of the Cader Idris range with wonderful mountain and valley views. Secluded with walking and cycling from the front door but less than 3 miles from the nearest town of Dolgellau with plenty of amenities. Beaches 5 miles.
