About the host
Hosted by Peter Dusenberry
Tom and Nancy purchased this house not just as a home, but as a sanctuary—a place where life slows down and the beauty of nature takes center stage. Nestled in the tranquil hills of Northeast Georgia, the house offered them the perfect setting to immerse themselves in the outdoors, where morning walks and evening sunsets would become cherished rituals. For them, it was more than just four walls; it was a canvas for creating memories. Here, they could gather with family and friends, celebrate life's milestones, and watch their grandchildren grow, playing in the woods and discovering the wonders of nature.
Nancy, an avid painter, saw endless inspiration in the shifting light and seasonal changes, with the landscape providing a peaceful backdrop for creative expression. They both loved the idea of the house becoming a gathering spot—a place where loved ones could come together, whether for holidays, birthdays, or simple weekend getaways.
But perhaps more than anything, Tom and Nancy found solace in this space. It became a retreat where they could disconnect from the busyness of everyday life and reconnect with themselves and each other. On quiet evenings, with a fire crackling in the hearth, or enjoying the setting sun in spring they could simply be—content that their home would forever be a place of comfort, creativity, and connection for generations to come.

What makes this property unique
What sold the Dusenberry's on this home was the building itself. Designed by modernist architect Jim Fox, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, the home embodies Wright's organic architecture philosophy, blending seamlessly with its natural surroundings to capture the valley views. Featuring expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, sliding glass doors, cathedral ceilings, clerestory windows and horizontal lines, the architecture echo Wright’s style, mimicking the valley’s flat landscape and grounding the home in its environment.
