Description of the apartment -

· This quiet and comfortable 2 bedroom apartment is on the 6th floor of an 100-year-old modernist building. The floors are still the original colorful mosaic (a different design in every room), and the ceilings are 9 feet high. There is an elevator, air conditioning, central heating, and a full kitchen with granite countertops, dishwasher, pots & pans, dishes, etc. The living area has a dining table and chairs, a leather sofa bed, a 21-inch TV, DVDs and stereo. There is 1 full bathroom with toilet, sink, and half-bathtub with shower.

The building has a roof terrace, with tables and chairs, plenty of sunshine, and views to Sagrada Familia. Please note it is a shared terrace.

Description of location -

· The apartment is located in the beautiful Eixample, halfway between Gaudi's La Pedrera (also known as Casa Milà) on the Passeig de Gracia, and Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia, just a ten-minute walk from either one. Casa Amatller and Casa Batlló are at the same short distance as well. The Eixample district has the most beautiful Art Nouveau architecture in the city dating from the last half of the XIX century.

There are many cafes, restaurants, tapas bars, and shops in the neighborhood also. Almost all buildings in the area are at least 100 years old. The 115-year-old Market of La Concepció, where you can do your grocery shopping in a traditional setting, is just 200 meters from the apartment. This market has fresh meat, produce, and cheeses, similar to the more famous Boqueria market, but less crowded and does not have some of the more exotic things.

The Eixample is recommended as a convenient location to see the different sight around the city, but not as crowded as the Old City. You can get a taste of real local life.

Transportation -

· There is a bus stop (for 8 different bus lines) on the corner right by the apartment that will take you to almost all the places of interest in the city, if you don't feel like walking. The city buses are nice and modern, and run often. The apartment is also less than 5 minutes walking from the metro station of Verdaguer, on both the yellow and blue lines. One stop away is the upscale shopping street, Passeig de Gracia, though you can easily walk there from the apartment. Three stops away is Plaza Catalunya (the very center of the city and also walkable) and the start of Las Ramblas, and the beaches are just five stops away. Four stops away you have the Old Cathedral and the Picasso Museum. There is also a parking garage close to the apartment, although renting a car in Barcelona is not recommended.

Long overdue for a make over.

This apartment is well located but very tired and run down. Wi fi does not work inside the apartment and we spent 24 hours without hot water. No greeter ever greeted us as expected. The only information re Barcelona was contained in guide books left by previous guests. The bed linen is not at all appealing. The second bedroom is tiny and noisy. We would not stay here again.

Exellent apartment..

Upgraded to anpother apartment.

The first apartment was a little dark and parts just nearly updated. Since it wasn't totally ready we upgraded with the owners to another bigger and nicer apartment. Spend the extra money with them because they have some really nice accommodations.

many bars, supermarkets and eating places in the neighborhood

due to the time of the year we did not profit from nice terrace on top of building, good for tanning and leisure

great location

Nice apartment in a great location. We called when we arrived and they seemed to be surprised we were there. No one met us or showed us around, which was fine, we did have access to the apartment with the code anyway. When we found out that the main plugin in the kitchen was shorting out and blowing the breaker and the bathroom tap was very loose, we texted the number and were told they are not around on the weekend, but will look at it on Monday, no one ever came, so we had to unplug the water heater every time we made coffee or toast, and watch out when we used the sink. The rooftop area is nice and the beds were comfortable, just expected more.
