You feel as though you are stepping into another era when you walk through the door - except for for all the modern conveniences. Originally built in 1908, with soaring ceilings, beautiful moldings, original hardwood floors, this home is reminiscent of the past, while completely modern and appointed with new furnishings and appliances. Located near the center of town on a quiet street in a lovely, friendly neighborhood. Walk to the coffee shop, grocery store, downtown area!

Enjoy sitting outside on lovely summer days on the large fenced in patio appointed with table, chairs, umbrella. Cook up a feast on the propane grill and enjoy dining 'al fresco'!

The home has been renovated with new paint, appliances, hardware, etc. The three generously sized bedrooms have queen beds and are handsomely appointed. Open, cheery kitchen with all the cookware and utensils you require. Large two car garage and plenty of parking.

Upstairs master has a beautiful mountain view and balcony. The other upstairs bedroom has a peek-a-boo view of the Strait. Bedroom on first level is perfect for those who have difficulty with stairs.

I pride myself on providing a lovely, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, immaculately clean home where guests can enjoy their much deserved vacations. About Janelle Martinson

I was born and raised in Alaska. When my father retired here in Port Angeles I frequently came to visit. I fell in love with Port Angeles (and grew weary of the long, cold Alaska winters!). I also fell in love with this home. I come down in the winters and enjoy this charming home. I hope you do too!

Why Janelle Martinson chose Port Angeles

I love the small town nature of Port Angeles, being close to the water, hiking trails, and the friendly people here. Port Angeles appealed to me due to the friendly, quiet, peaceful nature of the town and surrounding area. Life seems to slow down here. The town is quaint, the setting gorgeous, with lots of activities to enjoy. After looking at homes for almost a year, I chose this one - for it's location, for the fact that it was an older home with so much charm, because it had three bedrooms each which had its own appeal, because it had 1.5 baths (many of the older homes here have three bedrooms and one bath), and it was on a quiet street with homes that showed pride of ownership.

What makes this House unique

I love the 'feel' of this old home, while enjoying the modern amenities. The neighbors are friendly; we wave and greet each other everyday. I love being able to walk to my gym, the store, downtown, the marina, the farmer's market, and to various events held in town. Never having lived within city limits, it's nice to be close to all it has to offer. Shortly after purchasing the home, I had a beautiful fence installed around the patio. Now the patio feels like an extension of the house and it's my favorite place to be on nice days. I love to garden and grow vegetables. Guests are welcome to harvest herbs and vegetables that are ready for harvesting!

      • Bathrooms are modernly appointed. This Victorian home was built in 1908 - I was very pleased to find a home of this quality with a half bath. Many of the older homes here have one bath.

                                                          The house was more than we expected. Janelle has attended to every detail in equipping the home for a comfortable stay. We loved the patio with privacy fence and gas grill for sitting out in the evening after our adventures in the park. Janelle was quick to respond to any call or text. The home is very conveniently located for grocery shopping, restaurants, the ferry to Victoria, everything! A perfect home away from home.

                                                          We (6 of us) stayed for 3 nights. The house had everything we needed & it was close to the ferry to Victoria. We drove down to the ferry dock & paid $12 to leave our car for the day. The grocery store (Safeway with a Starbucks) & restaurants are close. There are two bedrooms upstairs with queen beds & these rooms share a half bath. Downstairs is another bedroom with a queen bed & a full bathroom (the only shower). I appreciated that the house was in a quiet neighborhood too!

                                                          This house is absolutely charming while still having modern amenities. The owner was incredibly helpful and was responsive to all questions.

                                                          It was a great location for exploring Olympic National Park- most of the great hikes were within a 30-minute drive. It's also within walking distance to downtown Port Angeles which has some great stores and restaurants. If you plan on catching the ferry over to Victoria Island, it's only minutes to the dock. Our kids didn't have passports, or we would've done that ourselves.

                                                          We used this home for our "base camp" as we were doing a few days of hiking in Olympic National Park, so the location was perfect. Very handy to local restaurants in the evening for dinner and we took the ferry to Vancouver Island for a couple of days, so the port was also just a couple of minutes away. A great place for our family of five. If I had one tiny complaint, it seems like there are never very many TV stations to pick from on any VRBO home that we stay at...that always seems to be the norm. I'm not asking for HBO, or movie packages, but it would be nice to have basic stuff like ESPN, CNN, etc. to catch up on local sports back home and some world news. I realize I have a smart phone for that, but to see some highlights or have a few more options in the evening on TV would be nice.

With the "smart TV" in the home you can do/watch anything that you would with your phone. I provide Netflix for movies and such. The remote has several handy "one push" buttons - one for Netflix, one for You Tube. With YouTube you can select news, sports, entertainment, etc. Input the sources you desire and watch all the programming you want. There is not a network I am aware of that doesn't have a YouTube channel. I no longer have broadcast tv in my home, as I get more options and wider sources through streaming YouTube channels than I ever had with any cable tv package.
