The building looks old... but the unit is very clean, nice and has most everything you need. There's a bus stop just across the street, and once you figure out the bus travel, it's a cheap and easy way to get around to NY (including taking the subways). The host (Claudia) was very responsive! Was definitely a good value for the money.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment during our visit to the NYC area. The location is truly excellent, being only 15 minutes from NYC by bus, with the bus stop conveniently located right across the street, made all our travel incredibly easy. Also there is a great supermarket, and restaurants nearby. The cleanliness was great, and we especially appreciated the thoughtfulness in providing essential items like salt, pepper, coffee, tea, shampoo, and soap. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the essentials, allowing us to quickly prepare breakfast each morning. This small detail was a huge help, as it meant we didn't have to buy and abandon basic necessities after just a few days. The communication with the host was fast, easy, and seamless.The only minor note for maintenance is that we had to slightly move the master bedroom bed to fully close the door. Overall, this apartment was clean, convenient, and a great value. We would happily stay here again on a future trip!

Building is old and a bit worn down, including an antique elevator still in use. However, the actual apartment was very clean and comfortable, pictures very accurate, and the area seems safe. There is actually a bright security light that comes on at night, that shines in the windows. If light at night bothers you, you might want to consider this. Bus stops are literally in front of and across the street from the building. Host had recommendations for transportation and restaurants that were helpful. However, if you do not have a rental car, be advised the closest store is 3 blocks away, and a few small restaurants about 6 blocks uphill from here. Also, the stores do not use plastic bags, so take your own or be prepared to buy the reusable ones.If you've never ridden the public transportation in this area, I recommend taking a trip or two before trying to get somewhere at a particular time. We used the 51 bus (white buses/jitney) alot to ride into NYC at 4/per person. It does not have a set schedule, but it comes through more often than the city bus, and you won't wait long. It takes you to the port authority bus stop in Manhattan, and you can catch other busses/subway/walk from there.

Good location, but the service can be better

The location is fine --super easy to go to NYC, the building is a bit noisy at night because of people running up and down the stairs but nothing too unbearable, and the apt had everything we needed and more. Unfortunately, we had a hard time after the checkout when the owner accused us of having stained her sofa, and wanted to charge us an additional $ 179. We proved with photos and video that we were not responsible, and she did not even apologize to us. I do recommend the apt, though, just make sure you document with pictures the way you're leaving it before your check-out.

The apartment is exactly as pictured. The 30 minute commute to NYC was very easy with a bus stop right across the street and clear directions from the host. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the towels were nice and soft. The couch pulls out into a futon and my son slept well in the living room. The kitchen is not equipped to cook meals. There are plates and glasses and a few pots, but no measuring cups, oven dishes, or even a sharp paring knife. The window AC units kept the place nice and cool, but the one in the front bedroom was so noisy it had to be turned off to sleep. That meant opening the window to the busy street noises and using the ear plugs that were left in the bedrooms for guests. Having a safe place to park is much appreciated but if you have anything bigger than a sedan ask for an outside parking spot and not a garage bay as it is very narrow. Overall, you can't beat the convenience of staying in NJ and commuting by bus to NYC.
