About this property
The Little Red Cottage
Summary: Our cottage overlooking Annapolis Royal is the perfect setting to create your own adventure, whether you are exploring the Cradle of Canada, researching your ancestry, enjoying the outdoors or looking for the perfect forever home. Our Nova Scotia Tourism registration number is STR2425D1660
The Space: One private bedroom with a queen-size bed and a queen-size sofa bed in the living room not private and probably suitable only for kids or 1 adult (Even though it can sleep 4, we believe it is best suited for 2 guests) ). A truly unique ever changing setting, first row to watch the tide come in or out, and to keep the million-dollar unobstructed view, please watch out for your dog and kids. We are right on the water, in the Annapolis Basin, there is no real beach to stroll in, and the currents are quite strong, so we don't recommend swimming. We are 2 minutes away from Annapolis Royal in the Village of Granville Ferry, so we are surrounded by our friendly neighbours & you will see us on our deck enjoying a cold one with friends or just hanging out, the backyard of the cottage is private enough that you will feel on your own. Our cottage is a charming place with the quirks of all old houses, and that in itself makes it unique but not the Ritz.
Guest Access: Propane BBQ. beautiful views. Smart TV & Cable and plenty of kids DVD's and DVD player, Kitchen is stocked with basics: Mayo, mustard, ketchup, salad dressing, oil, vinegar, spices, complimentary coffee and tea. Pet essentials (bowl, towel, poop bags)
The Neighborhood: The Cradle of Canada, vibrant community in the summertime, nice restaurants in the area, and lots of day trips, like whale watching, canoeing, great hikes, tons of history. As well, you can quietly stay at home watching the tide come in or go out.
Getting Around: If you have a bike, bring it! walking to town is 20 min. and we don't have public transport.
Other Things to Note: Let us know if there is anything else you need, we will try to accommodate you. ONLY 1 (ONE) PET PER VISIT ***LET ME KNOW YOU ARE BRINGING ONE AT THE TIME OF RESERVATION*** We are right ON the water, so please be careful with your dog and the kids (can't stress this enough) there is a fire pit in the backyard for your enjoyment, sometimes there are fire bans in the area so please check Nova Scotia Safeburn before you start a fire, the fines are hefty and WE WON'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM. Make sure the fire is put out before you turn in. No parties. Nova Scotia in the summer equals bugs, so use repellent & sunscreen. By no means is this a secluded cottage, our house, where we live, is on the same property, we like to spend time on the deck and entertain. Our pricing includes 3% Marketing Levy imposed by Annapolis County.
Interaction with Guests: We will greet you when you come, and be available for any needs or inquires you might have. Our home is located on the same property, if you look closely at the photos, the house in the back is us, this is how close we are to each other, BUT, we won't interfere with you or even hear you! Just remember that you are in our home, so please treat it respectfully.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Valentina our host was exemplary- helpful in very many ways and reliably responsive. Location is ideal and you can walk into Annapolis Royal very easily. Very thoughtfully equipped especially the kitchen.
Very pretty spot! All sorts of added little perks right down to coffee for the coffee marker. Super comfortable bed and great shower. Would definitely come back.
Our cross country trek has taken us to many lovely spots, but not more perfect than The little Red Cottage. Valentina was warm and welcoming and provided us with every luxury possible in a very special location. What a treasure we found.
amazing location...super clean and so well stocked with anything you can think of...and more! Valentina is a gracious host, and we really enjoyed out time in Annapolis Royal!!
A wonderful get-away with lovely hosts. The location of the cottage is very pretty with beautiful views across the water with Fundy’s dramatically changing tides. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped with everything one needs in the kitchen, bathroom and for one’s dogs. It is very peaceful and quiet but very convenient to amenities in Annapolis Royal. It was our second stay and I know we would go back in a heartbeat. Very highly recommended.
The Little Red Cottage is far and away the best rental we’ve stayed at. Valentina has thought of absolutely everything, right down to people treats and dog treats. The cottage was so welcoming and well appointed that we are now spoiled for anything else! Thank you so very much!
Wonderful cottage with a gorgeous view. The backyard was great for BBQ'ing and relaxing, and the cottage was perfect for two adults and two kids and had everything we needed. The host was really friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again!
Little Red Cottage was perfect.
Lovely designed space with incredible attention to detail.
Location across the river from Annapolis Royal is beautiful.
We loved it and will be back
The Little Red Cottage is charming and conveniently located near Annapolis Royal, Digby and the Bay of Fundy.
The cottage was clean and had all the amenities we expect when traveling. Our host, Valentina, was attentive and gave us great suggestions for enjoying the area. I wish we had booked a longer stay at the property.
This little cottage is the perfect location for a weekend away. The host was very helpful and charming and the cottage is super clean and well appointed. Cottage has a fantastic view of the Bay and we got to watch the influence of the famous tides of the Bay of Fundy has on this area.
This property was everything it could be. Well equipped, perfect location and relaxing. We watched the bay of fundy tides go up and down. It was great.
The cottage overlooks the Annapolis River near a dam, so we got to see all sorts of tidal variations. It’s just a few minutes drive from Annapolis Royal where there are a number of restaurants. Valentina was a very welcoming host and provided pretty much everything one could need or want.
This property was exactly as advertised. The host was gracious and if you need anything or had any questions she was right there. I give this rental Five Stars
This is a very well appointed property with a lots of thoughtful touches to make for a very comfortable stay. The location is very good and is a great place to observe the extreme tidal range found here. If you like peace and quiet you will find it here. The walk into Annapolis Royal only takes half an hour and the paths are good.
What a great experience!! We were looking for something quiet and intimate for our stay in Nova Scotia! And The Little Red Cottage let this happen. Valentina was an amazing host and ensured that all things were provided for our stay! We are so thankful for this amazing experience and would highly recommend staying here!!
Excellent stay! Easy drive from the ferry, very close to downtown Annapolis, next time I will definitely bring a bicycle to ride into town! The cottage was great, had everything we needed; bed was very comfortable, bathroom was spacious and the patio out back was where we spent most of our time reading. Cottage had a midcentury-modern design going on that I found to be very cool, and the adr deco design of the ild todal generator across the bay was very fascinating to me. Shore is a bit rocky, but not too difficult to get down to the water during high tide for a quick dip; I have swam in colder water, balmy by NS standards. Great stargazing at night, and the moon rose beautifully behind the bridge across the bay every night! Would absolutely return!
Valentina was on top of everything. Answered our call when we were delayed in arriving, location is clean and has everything needed for a quiet, relaxing vaca. Tides were so interesting to watch, town was very nice, bike trails were great. Railtrail for my wife and I were wonderful and the new mountain bike trails for me were just 10 minutes down the street.
Everything about our experience was excellent. The cottage is picturesque (right on the water), not to mention very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Valentina is extremely kind and welcoming and goes to endless trouble ensuring guests have what they need. It is especially wonderful the cottage is pet-friendly. We would stay again in a heartbeat. There is so much to do in the area with its fascinating historical sites and beautiful natural scenery. Highly recommended.
Little Red Cottage was a dream come true! Valentina has thought of absolutely everything to make you feel right at home. We left feeling rested and relaxed!
Cuddles in the yard with Cooper was an added bonus! Take Valentina's advice and get the smoked bacon from Lequille Country Store! You will not be disappointed!
We look forward to our next visit!
I would give the Little Red Cottage 10 stars if I could! One of the best properties ever!! Valentina is a gracious easygoing host! The cottage is a gem--has everything you need. Went to Port Royal & Annapolis Royal. Dinner at Composa was excellent. Ate lunch at Fort Annes Cafe- owner Jeff is a hoot and cooks great haddock! The patio at the cottage provided the most interesting views with the major tidal changes-enjoying wine while watching the birds and tides was amazing. Thank you, Valentina, for a perfect start to our Nova Scotia vacation!
